I bought a TGA Zest Plus last year because it offered a better ride than my Go Go Sport . However , I`ve since found that it lacks power and is only marginally better comfort that the Sport . Also , that I get a noticeable knocking sound when travelling over anything other that smooth pavement or tarmac and this I find most annoying . I assume this comes from the suspension springs . Overall not entirely happy with the Zest Plus .

After being stranded in my house for over a year due to arthritis, affecting both legs, it was time for a change.
Having tried a small power wheelchair, I didn't feel safe on anything other than flat surfaces. A larger power wheelchair was an improvement; however this could not be transported in my car.
The solution appeared clear, a mobility scooter, but which one?
I hired a fairly basic one; which was ok, but had severe limitations.
Knowing I wanted to be able to access areas where I previously walked the dogs, I needed something more than a basic scooter.
My research led me to the TGA website, where I found the TGA Maximo Plus.
The TGA Maximo Plus ticked all of my boxes.
Something with suspension to soften any bumps or potholes. Larger wheels for use on a wider range of surfaces. Being road legal it can go slightly faster than more basic scooters. A decent battery life, to reduce those range issues. Plus it folds up easily for transportation, the seat removes and the base folds in on itself. I think it is a good looking piece of kit. It even has lights. I've not yet taken it out after dark.
I spoke with Gabriella to place my order. She was really helpful and knowledgeable. Her assistance was gratefully appreciated.
The Maximo Plus was delivered and very professionally demonstrated to me in approximately a week.
Real world usage.
Having now used the Maximo Plus for over a month, I have a good feel for it and any limitations.
One of my main reasons for buying the scooter was to be able to enjoy some of the walks I previously enjoyed with my fiancèe and dogs. More about these in a while.
Battery life. So far battery life has been more than adequate for everyday usage getting me in and around town.
During trips on more rugged terrain the batteries have held up well. Although I have found hills and running on grass has an impact on battery usage. But I've never run out of charge.
Weight of the scooter
The Maximo Plus is a well made and solid scooter with the added bonus of being foldable for transportation in vehicles. Before buying, I reached out to Ross from the Grow Your Own Life YouTube channel for any comments. He has a video demonstrating how he gets the Maximo Plus in his car on his own, with the assistance of an old duvet/blanket. I am unable to lift the scooter in and out of my Yaris on my own. But my fiancèe and I have worked out a quick and easy process of loading and unloading from the car.
I will admit a larger car or wheelchair accessible vehicle would be more appropriate. But with a bit of help I am able to go much further afield.
Size
The Maximo Plus is a good sized scooter. I am just over 6 foot and find the size about right. I'm not sure I'd be as comfortable if I was any taller.
Limitations
In the month I have been using the scooter I have only identified a few Iimitations.
The Maximo Plus really struggled on a long and fairly steep hill. After getting about two thirds of the way up the hill I had to get off and walk/hobble alongside.
I experienced similar on a walk that was allegedly suitable for wheelchairs. I will admit these were both fairly steep. Something worth considering if you live in a hilly location or when planning walks/rolls.
The only other real limitation I have found is that the turning circle isn't as tight as other scooters or power wheelchairs I have trialled.
There is a dog leg footpath near my house. I have had to do a 3 or 5 point turn to get around the dog legs. I have been improving my scooter skills, but haven't been able to manoeuvre the footpath without several back and forth moments.
Not really a limitation of the Maximo Plus, more a limitation of my legs. On longer runs I have to put my feet on the front mud guard. My legs don't like being at 90 degrees. Again just a point some may find useful to know.
Overall
In conclusion, my overall impression has been very positive and I highly recommend it. The Maximo Plus has given me the confidence and ability to get out and about again. After over a year indoors my world is much bigger.
Nipping into town or getting out with the dogs is now possible. Thank you TGA and special thanks to Gabriella.

Company service is not in question
Company service is not in question. The Maximo Plus which I have bought is very poor quality build and performance. Cheep plastic which marks easily. Arms wobble and don't feel secure. Completely lacking in power, struggling on slight inclines, and then cuts out. Constant rattling from underside when running and also when stored in car. Scooter does not feel secure, due to one central suspension spring, allowing scooter to lean badly when turning. Would NOT recommend this scooter.

I have bought several products from TGA over the years and I have always found the staff to be polite and helpful. They are very keen to make sure that I end up with the mobility product that I need. This time I got a Whill model F powerchair and it is just great. Funky design, well made and with be extremely useful for me.

We had a great experience with TGA mobility. Charlotte came out to test drive scooters for my Dad and we found on that suited his needs. Once we had funding in place from Parkinson’s UK the delivery process with TGA was really quick and simple. I would definitely recommend them.

Moved up from an Eclipse to a TGA Maximo Plus. I love this scooter, the ride is smooth with all the handling of a smaller scooter. The only downside is I can't switch hands to drive. I have a dog I walk obviously with me on my scooter whereas with the Eclipse it didn't matter which hand I used to drive, with the Maximo it does. However we're both getting used to it. ( Finn loves it because it goes faster!!
