A rip-off, avoid

I made two calls to this number from a mobile phone and am set back in the realm of £47 for approx. 10 min. of conversations. Called to complain, was told that they provide a premium service, that others charge more, yadayadayada. Got "goodwill" gesture of £15 refund. Be advised that this company can legally charge exorbitant fees just to connect to your mobile provider (around £17 a pop). I find this kind of usury appalling. Not the most expensive lesson of my life, but if you read this before you use the company, maybe you can save yourself some money (and it's not by any means the only directory assistance company out there that profits on the ignorance of its customers). Just an unacceptably high level of greed--treats everybody like a sucker. Was told that if you phone 118811, you get charged a flat fee of £1 per call, but you have to note the number--no text, no connection; but I'll find another basic directory service--118 118 has milked this cash cow dry.

A bunch of charlatans!

You probably think they are a one of the sharks out there? No! They are even worse! They are just a bunch of charlatans interested to take your money and nothing more. When you call them you will find their agents clueless, unhelpful and rude. You may think you can make a comment to the managers? Be aware and do not fall in their trap.

118118 takes overcharging to new limits

I made just one call to 118118 last month for about 20 seconds ... and now find the cost on my bill is £5.68. Checking online, this is apparently the standard cost of an under 1 minute call to these chiselling spivs. Never before can one UK company have had the audacity to overcharge on such a grossly ambitious scale - it's a con, a deception, verging on criminal and should not be permitted in any nation in which the rule of law prevails. I'm an intelligent adult and was caught out by these shills - a pensioner, a vulnerable person or child can be conned for hundreds. Boycott this company now - never use them!

BRAINWASHED BRAINWASHING

If the adverts don't work they won't advertise.

Then no more company and no more brainwashing.

How dare they interfere with my brain. It is a disgrace.

I take great umbridge to being subjected to these awful television adverts that are only there to imprint those numbers into your brain at the exclusion of other good companies that cant afford the advertising.

We were meant to have free competitive companies but this company have successfully killed of the opposition. Now we pay for an over priced service that should be free.

I strongly discourage from using their service

I had a very bad experience with them:
I was moving houses and wanted to sort out the internet connection etc. I called 118118 to find out the phone number to SKY. I wrote the number down however the advisor I talked to offered me to connect me with that number, which seemed a kind gesture, since she did not mention any charge for connecting me. Guess what, I got charged £28 for the conversation - it lasted about 20 mins to order the internet, TV and landline from SKYPE.
When I wrote a complaint to 118118 since I obviously would not ask them to connect me if they told me how much per minute it would cost me, they said that I picked option 2 and I was informed by an automated service about the costs which is a complete LIE, since I talked with a person, who 'forgot' to mention the price of the further connection.
It took me about 6 further letters to get in the end only half of the money back - 118118 kept blaming my mobile network for these charges, while the mobile network was blaming 118118.

The company is based on dishonesty and hiding the facts from customers, in the hope that people do not check their phone bills.

Stay away from them for a mile or recommend to your enemies.
