I recently had the pleasure of entrusting Port Pet with the responsibility of flying my beloved dogs, Ox and Ace, from South Africa to Brazil. I must say that the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, Port Pet, led by their highly professional and caring contact Filoe, ensured a stress-free and smooth journey for my four-legged companions.

Filoe's dedication and attention to detail throughout the entire process were truly commendable. From the initial consultation to the final moments before the flight, Filoe went above and beyond to ensure that all the necessary arrangements were in place. Her expertise in pet transportation and her genuine love for animals shone through in every interaction we had.

One of the most impressive aspects of Port Pet was their professionalism. Filoe meticulously handled all the required documentation, ensuring that all necessary permits, vaccinations, and paperwork were in order for the international travel of my dogs. She patiently answered all my queries and provided regular updates, keeping me informed and reassured throughout the entire journey.

There would of been BLOOD how can you not see BLOOD!

My dog was injured at this establishment, the injury was days old before the staff noticed. When I questioned why the injury wasn’t picked up I was told and I quote “ we noticed it was a potential nick” well her entire ear is scabbed, crusty and damaged? There would of been BLOOD how can you not see BLOOD!
It is in my opinion in this instance the pet hotels staff were neglect in their duty of care to my pet. They should of noticed the injury, I pay them to keep my pets safe, if an accident or injury occurs my expectation is the staff will not only advise me of the injury but also monitor it. Why else do you pay for pet boarding if not to keep your pets safe this establishment didn’t clean or attend your to my pets injury they didn’t even notice it until the day we picked them up! Quite frankly it’s a disgrace, it’s also incredible to have them tell me it was a potential nick! Seriously her whole ear has been chewed! It should of been picked up not ignored! Obviously I do not recommend you take your pet here. Very upsetting, please note I understand injury’s occur what I’m so upset about is no one, not one staff member was paying enough attention to notice my dog was injured.

Disappointed beyond words!!

I picked my dogs up after our holiday on 2nd January. They were wet, stinking with dirty paws. I had to bring them home and give them a bath, I then found fleas which is appalling! I’ve had my oldest for 12 years and he’s never had fleas even when he’s stayed on a farm.

I am very disappointed and will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. Given the fact that the staff didn’t even care when I called to complain and haven’t had any response from management, I will be going out of my way to advertise how bad this hotel is.

Your cameras were turned off for most of their stay period, we couldn’t see them the whole time they were there including during the times advised.

Disappointed to say the least

We had our 7 month old pup stay here for just over a week while we were away. Honestly we’re very disappointed with the whole experience, from the lack of customer service and communication from the staff to the cleanliness of the facilities.

We checked the webcam frequently throughout the days we were away (upwards of 5-10 times during a day), to see our dog and after no success of seeing him on the camera, we sent a brief email. Within the email we explained that being a pup that we got during lockdown, we wanted to make sure he was socialising okay and asked the staff to provide a quick update. We were not able to call as we were overseas which we explained as well. We received no response at all to our email.

This has all been a completely different experience to what a friend interstate had at a different pet hotel and to what we had expected. It’s honestly not good enough.

We’d also like to note that it’s really unacceptable to have the webcam off from Saturday the 25th to Tuesday the 28th. Animals don’t stop living just because it’s Boxing Day and your company is still getting paid.

What we could see on the webcam was a really lacklustre “play area” where no dogs were being played with or stimulated in any way, with the area being covered in wee and poo.

Upon pickup on the exact time we had arranged, he wasn’t bathed like promised and while they offered another bath we just wanted to get him out of there at that point. Before the company comments here as I see they have a remark back for every negative review, yes we signed a release to take him dirty but he was meant to be washed BEFORE we got there. The staff claimed he was washed a day prior to pickup and that he got dirty from playing but he smelt like he had been lying in wee for a week with his fur completely matted and sticky, and stains on his paws.

To top off this horrific experience we’ve had, our previously healthy pup has come home with what sounds like kennel cough. Would never return and definitely not recommend this place.

Necrosis, broken tail, and extremely thin, and we were verbally abused by management when we complained

We dropped off two adult pet greyhound girls at this facility on July, 27, 2020, where they were booked to stay for several weeks prior to catching a flight to Italy to join my husband and I, who, unfortunately, due to covid restrictions, were forced to fly out earlier. I was told my dog Gucci had ‘happy tail’ while there but that it was under control. However, when our girls arrived in Italy weeks later they were thin, nervous, had an obsession with cats which they’d never had before and, by far worst of all, Gucci’s so called happy tail was confirmed by two separate veterinary clinics to be a badly broken tail which had subsequently become severely infected due to being left untreated for so long, eventually resulting iin necrosis. When I contacted this facility tto inform them of this they told me I was lying and denied the tail was broken, and even went so far as to say that I was a bad pet owner and negligent for bringing our dogs to Italy.

Thanks Pet Hotel again. Our dog Charlie always enjoys his stay. We have never had any hesitation with sending our pets to stay with you, even on our lengthy overseas trips.

Dougie P had major back surgery, he wears leg braces and socks and needs supervision when he plays. They're a great team always looking out for him and he loves his weekly visit!

I'm quickly becoming a regular here

I'm quickly becoming a regular here. It takes the stress out of worrying if my pet is taken care of. The staff are perfect and qualified. They give me a complete run down of my pets behaviour when i pick him up. I'd rather pay for their care than leave with a friend. Max loves coming here. It's his home away from home. So many activities and bark central has his covered with socialising.

attention to detail lacking

Our dog had a bath on the day he was to come home, after his 3-week stay over the Christmas period. Unfortunately, he had to have another 3 baths once home to remove the urine smell from his paws and undercoat over his 3-week stay. We relocate interstate with work every 2 years and have boarded our animals at quite a few establishments across Australia, so I was very disappointed at the lack of care/attention paid to our animals.

Professional, trustworthy and wonderful!

We were thrilled to find The Pets Hotel, I just wish we had one in our home state. Our doggy had the best time and the hotel was wonderfully transparent, clean and professional. Thank you, a great relief to leave him in good and trusted hands.

We left out two boys with the Pet hotel…

We left out two boys with the Pet hotel for a 5 day stay, and i must say i was a little nervous but i shouldn't have been the dogs settled in well we received email updates on the stay which gave us confidence in the decision, overall was very happy with the casual but professional approach by the pet hotel.
The boys came home and could not stop talking about the great time they had and all the new friends they made at the hotel.... ;)

Honestly, a dream business.

A wonderful company that absolutely pampered our Puppy. So much respect and care was shown to our puppy and to all of the dogs that I saw when I was in the vicinity. 11/10 will be booking in with the team again. We had some pretty specific requirements for our stay and they backed us the entire time and helped to sort any issues out immediately.

Thank you Pets Hotel for restoring our faith in Dog Boarding!
