Wish I’d looked on trust pilot before…
Wish I’d looked on trust pilot before booking our trip to Bucharest to visit this ‘spa’.
The place was absolutely heaving. You can’t book treatments in advance and when we turned up at 10am all slots were filled. We couldn’t even get a bed around the pool and every one was covered in a towel. The staff need to be much more strict on being ‘reserving’ beds for the day which then aren’t used.
The pool was like people soup, pool bars cramped, queues to get in the saunas, massive queues for the toilets. The lady running activities in the saunas/steam rooms had to be accompanied by a security guard as she was getting so much hassle from disgruntled customers.
I’ve never come away from a spa feeling more stressed than when I went in. It felt more like a pool party with everyone posing for Instagram pics.
The actual facilities are amazing and I would have happily have paid 3 times the price to have 3 times less people.
I wouldn’t recommend.
Extremely busy/ no privacy
Extremely busy/ too many people allowed. People around/in the pool or any other “relaxing area “ with their phones doing live streaming /pictures/videos 😨 Showers a completely joke without any door/no privacy and the water was just about leaching to wash your hands ….. Never come back !!( I have reviewed on Google too and has not been posted, maybe because only the good reviews are accepted and posted!
Very very crowded, rude staff
Very very crowded. There are no sunbeds available, we have waited more than 1hour for food and waited 2h at the queue to get in. The place uswd to be really noce 4 years ago, now it's totally overcrowded. Moreover, the staff is rude and not willing to help.
we booked at the beginning of December…
we booked at the beginning of December for Thursday 19/12 on their official website. During the purchase phase it was written that the spa would be open from 9 am to 11 pm. When we got there, the guard stopped us at the entrance and told us that the spa was closed from 4 pm. We were not the only ones to have booked, as other foreigners and Romanians were also disappointed
Not a relaxing spa.
We went on a Saturday. So expected it to be busy but it was crazy and not relaxing. It has up to 6000 lockers and only 4 treatment rooms, if you fancy a facial or a massage. If you don’t get there when it opens and put a towel on a bed you’ll have nowhere to sit or lie down all day! If you want a treatment you then have to rush upstairs and Q. We Q’d for over an hour. There were only 8 treatments left when we got to the front of the Q. We got a massage booked but not the one I wanted. Massage was good but rooms not fully soundproof, still heard lots of noise, especially a girl crying loudly outside the door and she tried to get in. Not enough facilities, sparce amount of toilets. Only 3 restaurants. So you spend a lot of your day Q’ing. The best bit was the pools and the bars in the pool. But it was just really busy and the noise level was high! The kids area was even worse ! We never stayed in that part. So never felt fully chilled. We had a good time but not as much as we thought we would. It is more of a water park with a few spa treatments if you are lucky.
Awful staff bad service
Awful staff bad service. Rude, dismissive, impolite, no manners , had racists vibes from them as well if you're brown ....never going back and I wish I never did go
Wonderful place/location and experience…
Wonderful place/location and experience eventually but a few things let this place down .
We all booked our tickets online prior to our visit but the online booking queue was far longer than the ordinary pay as you go line. ( wouldn’t suggest booking online , no advantage )
The first hour was very very stressful unfortunately . It’s such a silly system for booking massages . Why you can’t have an online booking system is beyond me . We booked our entry tickets months in advance yet still wasn’t sure if we would get a massage until on the day . The first hour was waisted in line trying to book a massage to be told nothing was available when we got to the front of the line. It was very very frustrating . Only one staff member at the counter having to explain over and over again what each treatment was . Not a single list of treatments or prices listed anywhere near the desk which was ridiculous. The line had atleast 30 people waiting for treatments .
An online system would be so much better . A list of treatments and prices visible and a staff member combing the queue for awareness of services would really make a difference .
Trying to order drinks at the pool bar is time consuming - very slow service ( no fault of the staff ) just more staff needed .
It’s a lovely place but not the most relaxing or calmest of Spas .
Planning on going ? Have a lots of patience . Be prepared to queue , don’t go thinking it’ll be quiet it’s too big . And chances are you won’t get a massage unless there an hour before opening.
We went on a Monday one of the quietest days
Very bad experience
Our experience at the Therme spa in Bucharest was incredibly disappointing. There were no water fountains available, so we had to resort to drinking tap water from the bathroom. Shockingly, the staff told us to stop, claiming it would make us sick, which was completely absurd. We drank the water anyway and had no issues whatsoever. Instead of providing a proper solution, they suggested we buy water from the bar, making it clear that this place cares more about profit than customer well-being.
On top of that, when we asked to change our sweat-soaked towels after a few hours, they refused unless we paid for new ones. They even called a so-called manager who reinforced this ridiculous policy. The staff was rude and dismissive, which only made the experience worse.
The food is outrageously overpriced, the place is always overcrowded, and it’s nearly impossible to use the saunas during the shows. It’s noisy and feels more like a commercial money-making operation than a true wellness experience. We paid €100 for two people for just 4 hours, some towels, and flip-flops, which is unacceptable given the poor service. I definitely do not recommend this place
An Honest Review 2/5
An Honest Review: Mixed Experience
**Spa Experience: 10/10 | Service: -3/10 | Facilities: 2/10**
I’ve visited spas all over the world, and this is hands down one of the best in terms of the spa experience itself. The 1-hour massage was incredible and well worth the £61. The on-site Thai restaurant and cocktails were also excellent, with reasonable prices.
**Now, for the downsides:**
- **Staff behavior:** Unfortunately, the staff were both intrusive and rude. They constantly hovered and gave unnecessary instructions, such as: "Tie your hair up," "Take off your jewelry," "Put your phone away," and "Always sit on towels."
- **CCTV surveillance:** There are cameras in nearly all areas, including the locker rooms, which felt like an invasion of privacy.
- **Towel policy:** Towels come at an extra cost of around £4, which is understandable, but what’s frustrating is that you’re charged £4 every time you want a fresh dry one. No swaps allowed.
- **Substandard shower facilities:** The showers are shared by all genders, lack doors for privacy in the actual showers, and there's no place to dry your swimwear. To top it off, the only soap available for the entire body is basic hand soap.
Overall, while the spa itself is wonderful, the lack of basic amenities and the intrusive atmosphere and extremely rude staff really detracted from what could have been a perfect experience.
Lovely
Lovely, but crowded. Not cheap at all. Amenities and spaces very well designed.
Nice experience
Nice experience, because it was in middle of a weekday. Don't know about weekend how crowded it is. But it is very expensive, be aware.
Very bad service isn't worth it 37 EUR
Very bad service isn't worth it 37 EUR, too many people and they dont have enough chairs or spots to lay down for all their customers, they dont allow phones and felt like lifeguards are not there to save u if something happens but to scream at you no phones, and hunting on u about it. When i asked why this wasn't told when we bought the tickets said we sign something which we didn't, we just scan the QR code, the only notification we got is to have swimming staff and ID , which wasn’t even needed. Veryyy bad attitude and rude, came a girl no English just keep saying ok ok. No enough places to get food, hours in line to order and get smth.
I absolutely love this place!
I absolutely love this place. The saunas are amazing, especially the aufguss rituals. Everything is clean, smells amazing.
Of course, it's best to go there during weekdays (except for Fridays), since weekends are full and you have less chance to experience the rituals (limited spots).
we were really looking forward to this…
we were really looking forward to this experience. We really don't want to complain nor do we usually do so but an experience this bad must be shared to save other people from these problems. They don't let you have anything. And I mean anything. Like gestapo level stuff. I had to go up a few flights to get my kids on a slide. The person there said that my kids can't have goggles on a slide so I went all the way down to our locker to put the goggles because you aren't allowed to leave them on the side. I came all the way back up and he told me I couldn't wear my necklace on the slide. So I went all the way down again. After coming back he told me I couldn't wear my glasses on the slide. I told him that I wouldn't be able to see but he didn't care. So again up and down. finally it was our turn and he said that one of my kids was too small and couldn't go on. No thoughtfulness. No consideration. couldn't tell me all of it at one time so i wouldn't have to go up and down. And it wasn't just one difficult person. You wait on a line and only at your turn they tell you your kid is too big. On another one and they say your kid is too small. No signs to tell you the rules and regulations. Just wait on line and figure it out when you get there. Also, there is no clear path/directions how to get to each slide. we went in circles to figure it out. We went in the pool but they would only let my kids go on the baby side even though they are 10 and 13 and are excellent swimmers. Overall, we spent hours doing nothing. Could have had more excitement in my backyard pool.
Disappointing Experience at Therme… Do NOT GO I MEAN IT!
Disappointing Experience at Therme Bucharest
I recently visited Therme Bucharest (NOT for the first time), with my family of four, having purchased tickets online for the Elysium area. Unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of a massive letdown, and I feel compelled to share our ordeal in hopes of sparing others from the same disappointment (thankfully we got our money back and left this nightmare immediately after encountering these issues).
Chaos from the Start
Upon arrival, we found ourselves waiting in line to enter (at the online tickets area inside), only to be abruptly informed via screens—without any direct communication after 35 minutes of waiting in line—sorry to those standing outside in the scorching sun—that the maximum capacity had been reached. This meant there were no more seats, baldachins, or sun loungers available anywhere in the facility. Such a crucial update should have been communicated directly to the crowd (especially those who were outside and hadn't bought tickets online), not passively displayed on screens, leaving them to find out only after waiting hours to get in. Imagine all of this could be avoided with an online message for all people before reaching Therme today - like "do not come here anymore because we are full" but no, Therme wants more and more money even though they are blatantly disregarding numerous laws with their terrible management.
Overcrowded and Unmanageable
Despite reaching maximum capacity, Therme Bucharest continued to admit more guests, transforming what was supposed to be a relaxing spa into a chaotic, overcrowded disaster. It felt more like a packed football stadium with loud music, loud people screaming, kids under 14 in the Palm and Elysium areas... This is not a spa anymore. People were everywhere, sticking next to each other like sardines in a can, sharing changing rooms with strangers, waiting in endless lines to access saunas, and experiencing generally poor spa services and hygiene. I even heard STAFF started to steal your branded slippers, phones, and any valuable items you have on you. Good job, Therme, good job!
Facilities and Staff Disappointments
The bathroom areas were overcrowded and utterly unhygienic. There was no air conditioning in the lobby (inside air venting was missing), making it nearly impossible to breathe comfortably with thousands of people waiting in line, sweating as well as inside. The management’s decision to accept too many people without ensuring adherence to basic hygiene rules, such as showering before entering the water or having a towel with you in saunas, was literally alarming. Given the sweltering heat in the lobby, one can only imagine the amount of sweat and bacteria being carried into the pools by all these people.
To add to the misery, the staff displayed a shockingly unfriendly and bossy demeanor. Their behavior was far from what one would expect at a relaxation center and did nothing to alleviate the stress and frustration caused by the overcrowded and poorly managed facilities.
Conclusion
Therme Bucharest has drastically declined in quality and service and should be renamed to a "fake spa" hole. It no longer deserves to be considered a spa. Instead, it has become a sad parody of what a true spa experience should be. If you value your time, money, and desire for a relaxing experience, I strongly advise you to avoid Therme Bucharest at any cost no matter how badly you want to get there. Our visit was a regrettable mistake this time, and I would not wish such a poor experience on anyone, especially if you have high standards, expect quality services, and respect yourself. If you have no respect for yourself, you can go—it’s perfect that way now, keep giving them money they don't deserve at all at this moment and receive bad quality services, be treated worse that you ever been in your entire life!

Andrea is a racist and made our experience excruciating. Andrea was clearly displaying racism towards my family and I.
The spa is not relaxing and staff appear very aggressive and unhappy.
Staff is rude and steals.
Beware, staff steals your branded slippers. And when you confront them they will tell you 1000 lies and become very aggressive.

Clean facilities but far too busy
Clean facilities but far too busy.
Some areas closed which was not advertised.
Everything is an additional cost, you only pay for entry. Don’t bother with the elysium part unless you have kids, but again, very busy.
We didn’t stay for the full session.
Had a really bad experience with one of…
Had a really bad experience with one of the staff members. I think she was some type of manager which makes it more disturbing. Her name is Rebecca and she was present in the pool bar. VERY IMPOLITE AND RUDE!!!! We were trying to order drinks and by mistake entered the wring directions. Very rudely she told us to get out urgently. Confused, we were trying to explain but she started screaming causing disturbance for other guests too. Later I went to the bar (in the right entrance this time) and she comes to me arrogantly and told me to tie my hair. When I asked her to apologize for her behavior, as I didnt find it to be respectful, she just said NO, and left. A colleague of hers, she was called Alina I think, was a sweetheart! She calmed us down and asked Rebecca to leave as this was not something professional. She apologized on Rebecas name and provided a free iced tea as a sign of apology.
Employees like Rebeca should not be working as hosts. They destroy the reputation of the place and give people very bad experiences. At the end of the day, I pay for the service and to have a good experience and the employee is paid to provide a good service!!!
If you are a group of friends or couples I would suggest you go there late around 5 PM. The place is veryyy crowded during the day and there are long wait lines, especially in the Galaxy venue. We went there around 12 and we could barely find a spot to relax as everything was occupied. Nevertheless, the venue is nice but there are other things to be met in order to have a great experience.
