Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 47 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people found the facilities overcrowded, making it difficult to enjoy the pools, saunas, and other amenities, often feeling more like a chaotic public swimming pool than a relaxing spa. Customers frequently reported issues with staff, describing them as rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional, particularly concerning inconsistent rule enforcement and lack of assistance. The pricing was also a common point of dissatisfaction, with many feeling that the high costs for entry and additional services did not match the quality of the experience, especially given the overcrowding and lack of free amenities like drinking water. However, some customers also noted that the facilities themselves were modern and well-maintained, with a good variety of pools and saunas, and some even had enjoyable massages and found certain areas to be quiet during off-peak times.

Title: A Steep Decline in Quality at Therme Bucharest

I've been a regular visitor to Therme Bucharest for several years, but it's with a heavy heart that I must now express my complete disappointment in how the venue has deteriorated. What used to be a go-to recommendation for friends visiting Bucharest will no longer be suggested by me.

Firstly, the staff's demeanor and service have taken a nosedive. Most of them come across as rude, untrained, and seem to excel at making guests feel unwelcome. It's disheartening to encounter such attitudes in a place that should be a haven of relaxation and hospitality.

Moreover, the overcrowding issue has become unbearable. It seems the management prioritizes quantity over quality, cramming as many people as possible into the space without considering the comfort or experience of the visitors. This approach not only diminishes the quality of service but also detracts from the overall ambiance of the establishment.

Another point of contention is the operating hours. Despite closing at 11pm, the staff starts ushering guests out at 10:30pm, which feels abrupt and unwelcoming. This policy is not only inconvenient but also creates a rushed and uncomfortable end to what should be a leisurely and relaxing visit.

In conclusion, Therme Bucharest has unfortunately become a shadow of its former self. For those seeking a truly relaxing sauna experience, I would recommend considering alternatives such as the Intercontinental or even making a trip to Budapest. It's a sad turn of events for a place that once held such promise.

Nice pools

Nice pools , if your child is 13 or under you can only do galaxy yet the outside pool is hot as and young ones are in it , we found the staff ok in general , although they seem pretty quick to jump on the young ones for bugger all , pool water is nice and clean and facilities are great , as usual staff can stuff the experience

Went on New Year’s Day, bunged, very rude staff, decent enough experience but overrated

We went on New Year’s Day , which, mightn't have been the best decision in hindsight but made do with the time we had. It was absolutely bunged, queues out the door & down the road but we managed to move through it reasonably okay as we had pre-purchased tickets through getyourguide. Unsure of the speed of the queue for paying upon entry, however, that queue seemed to barely move while we moved.
The staff at the front desk were quite rude & unhelpful & the difference in language seemed only to annoy them more despite us walking up with our tickets on display & ready to go. Even the staff inside were very rude & standoffish, we felt very unwelcome.
There’s barely anywhere free to store your items & having to pay a deposit/pay for a towel, bath robe & slippers, you’d like to leave them somewhere they won’t be taken so we struggled to find somewhere for this. I would advise not to bring anything inside the spa that you don’t want to lose (asides from items in the locker) . We only brought the towel, bathrobe & slippers out from our locker.
You’ll be queuing for at least 15/20 minutes for anything, bar, hydro massage beds, sauna & even longer if you want a sunbed to lie on/leave your things. And the pools themselves were overcrowded.
I would also advise to double check what your ticket includes as we thought ours included the infrared beds & water slides but apparently not. When you go upstairs to where they are, there are barriers where you can scan your wristband to get in & it says “additional charges included” or something along the lines of that & although we thought our ticket included this & it turned out it didn’t, we were more than happy to pay the additional charges to go in, however it wouldn’t let us. I think they should change the wording to say that it’s for ticket holders only & not that you can pay additional to enter as we got our hopes up thinking we could.
Aside from all this, the spa is very nice inside & we enjoyed spending the day relaxing & recovering from the night before, just wish we had an honest review ,like this, so we knew what to fully expect. I would probably go again but not during seasonal times or weekends as it looks to be the same at those times. If you’re looking to go, I would purchase the longer hours ticket so you know you’ll get the full experience, if not, you’ll spend most of your time queuing for things, even the toilet & showers!

Extremely rude staff-more a prison than a SPA

I’m Romanian and unfortunately I have to write this very negative review. Not to hurt someone’s business but in hope that with time things will change in better. Feedbacks are always constructive.

I choose Therme to spend my Birthday and I invited my family as well.
At the reception it was an arrogant lady that gave the impression that she don’t want to be there. She gave us the bracelets and the information in a very rude manner. The bracelets were not working as she gave us the wrong ones for Elisyum instead of Galaxy and to my partner she gave a bracelet with no number that means no locker, based on the reason he has an adult ticket, and we have lockers because we have students tickets. We had to came back as they were not working and I had to ask someone else. That person took us back to the lady and she changed them but she didn’t even apologise. Somehow she was trying to put the blame on me that I didn’t mentioned, when it was HER JOB to check when she scanned the tickets.

All the other staff was rude, screaming at everyone and talking from above.

There are some very stupid rules, you are not allowed in the pool with phone even with a water proof case which was tight to the neck, case that I bought in Siam Park, where there are slides 10 times bigger than Therme ones.
BUT THE MOST STUPID RULES are related with the rings. The blue ones are for kids or under 50 kg and the yellow ones up to 100 kg. BUT ON ALL RINGS IS WRITTEN MAX 100 KG, still they will send you back if you have the blue one. And the funniest is that one of the blue is identical with the yellow ring, only the colour is different.

I felt I was entering a prison and not a relaxing centre.

Positive aspects:
The centre is wonderful.
The pool with exit outside is gorgeous.
The cocktails in the bar from the outside pool are delicious.
I had fun in my own way and eventually I enjoyed my birthday.

Almost happy with the service quality

Everything is clean, the staff very kind generally on one exception i could tell(at the bar i ordered a cocktail of 300ml and i was given a beverage of about 150-180ml). But, the kitchen was great and everything worked at professional level. Congrats!

Got stopped three times

Got stopped three times, once because we have to pay extra over our booked tickets to pay for „school holiday“ on a Monday, even tho we got Elysium which kids are not allowed in. Then, even though I am wearing crocs they forced me to pay 5€ for a cheap pair of slippers that i am never going to use again because it broke. Then, they forced search through my bag because apparently they do not allow you to bring water from outside. Unfriendly staff, unsustainable business model, horrible.

Sadly no more a good place to go to

Like all good places u can go in Bucharest sadly therme is not anymore the place
I loved the place but recently I experience some really antagonistic behavior from the personnel that work there
I been there many , many times and all of a sudden therme ppl try to make some extra money like it was not enough what they were charging for water and food . Now they want u to buy there slippers in the name of hygiene yours r not good anymore if u don’t come with them in a bag
U r not allowed to change in the car and wear them to the pool u have to buy there sleepers
Sadly therme is not anymore a water park but a slippers store
And I have to mention in the last 2 maybe 3 yrs no one ever ask me to buy there slippers
What’s next maybe hygienic towels or robes it’s going to cost more money to be week dress to get in and of course u r at the mercy of some minimum wage ppl to deal with
If they really care for the slippers to be hygienic they simply should’ve put a mat with Clorox before u get in but that would cost u nothing so y not have this “new “ policy in place u must get our slippers
I am jacking but sadly a good place has become a bad place so please think before u go to therme Bucharest

False advertising and bad services at unjustified prices

The place is very crowded, tickets are sold and money is collected even if it is full and there are no more seats.
The place for which you pay the most expensive ticket is just an imitation of luxury service. A mini swimming pool with a bar and several saunas and a restaurant does not justify the extra price required for access. You can't relax at all, noise everywhere, stand in line to enter the sauna, stand in line to buy something from the bar or restaurant. Not to mention, there are no luxury or VIP services to pay for. The changing rooms are shared. You don't have a bit of privacy, not even a seat/lounger, for which you are supposed to pay the maximum price.
You don't even have a table or a pedestal on which to put 2 cockails next to the beds, You had to sit with the glasses in your hand or store them on the floor, which is not hygienic at all.
In addition, there is a lot of mess, both in the relaxation area, at the toilets, and in the pools.

Extremely rude staff

Amazing “visual place” ruined by unprofessional and rude staff!
I honestly don’t know what all this good reviews are about, it seems like they don’t like tourists and people from abroad that are not Romanian speaking because they look at you up down when you ask simple questions!!

To start on our arrival we were “greeted ” by a security guard that clearly doesn’t speak any english so his way of communicating is yelling at us pointing at our foot. Apparently you cannot enter with flip flops, they CAN be in your bag (equally dirty as if was on the foot) so they force you to buy from them. No explanation, just shouting and scam.

While we were inside we got mistreated by several members with 0 customer skills one by one telling us don’t do this and that.

And about pictures you see on instagram? FORGET IT! Those people are all PAID influencers that go there before it even opens to record content but in reality if you get 1 meter close to the pool to take 1 picture be ready for more shouting and rudeness.

You’re not allowed to have fun nevertheless RELAX! You have to try to enjoy constantly looking around with staff following you specially a woman named Rebeca that is particularly the worst, shouting at customers moving her hands around as if she’s bursting flies in the air being sarcastic rolling her eyes at everybody. Absolute JOKE! How can you have that attitude working in a place of relaxation?!!

Will never be recommending or coming back! Tourist and instagram trap!

Trash staff

Very nice facilities but like most people said the staff was an absolute no. So rude, and It really was to everyone. The massage reception was so dismissive I had to leave after waiting for several minutes as she was just talking to her colleague and wouldn’t even acknowledge me. The staff will not move even slightly to the side if passing you so I got bumped often. They generally looked like they didn’t want to be there and they were tired of everyone and everything.

Not a spa!

Way overcrowded, loud blaring dance music the whole time, nowhere to relax other than the saunas, not enough bathrooms, change rooms are not separated between men and women. There was nothing relaxing at this "wellness spa". I didn't even see the kids area, this review is for the adult areas. The saunas and multiple pools were lovely but people were like ants everywhere! Nowhere to sit down because people put towels down to "save their beds" I needed a rest after my visit.

Extremely poor experience.

Poor advertising of scheduled hours on the website led to a very disappointing experience for my family. This is a multi million dollar investment where the customer experience is in no way a priority. We spoke to robert, the guest experience lead and he was unprofessional, rude and dismissive. If being treated well is important to you, I do not recommend this location. Aggravated, humiliated, upset - this is how you leave a place that is supposed to be an oasis for relaxation.

👎👎👎

The experience while relaxing is really nice BUT when my friends and I went to the slides, my brother slipped at the entrace of one of them and struggled to get back and the lifeguard RIGHT NEXT TO HIM did nothing, absolutely nothing, he just sat there chilling. I had to go and try to help him myself, I was scared of what could happen if he went on the slide like that, without anything to protect him. Moreover, it was a dangerous slide (I do not remember the name of it). Sadly, I also slipped. I could not think in that moment of a wiser decision, because I panicked. Just by then, the staff helped me because apparently my head made an impact with the ,,ground"(some part of the slide, some metal material or something similar). I still have strong headaches because of that and I will never go there again. Awful. How can someone struggle right next to you and you just let them go with the flow of the water? If he had not managed to calm himself a little and put his hand on the metal bar above him (this happened after I went towards him), it could have been worse and I do not want to think of that.

Massage while on facebook

I’ve been there on Saturday, the place is amazing.
However, I must say that I got a Facial treatment as well as a Massage .
The facial treatment with Ana was amazing. BUT, the massage, which costs 370 RON was a joke, as the lady who massaged me started off great but the last 15 minutes was literally touching my head with one hand and with the other scrolling on Facebook, which I found really rude and disrespectful giving the price of the massage, she thought I could not see her but I could see the reflection of the phone as well as I could feel she wasn’t focused anymore on the massage.

The best place to visit in Bucharest

The best place to visit in Bucharest, the atmosphere is amazing there, felt like in another world, could disconnect from everyday stress! Cocktails, relaxation area, facials and slides were fun and they provided good quality for the prices!
