I had an older style prep machine when my first child was born 4 years ago and it was a life saver, but after passing it around a couple of friends after we finished with it, we decided to buy this new upgraded version for our next baby. I love the new design as it takes up less space and I really like the jug is removable. That’s where the positives end! The old machine dispensed the hot water and then as soon as you were ready you pushed the button and the cold water came out. This one hot water comes out, you push the button and it take about 90s for the cold water to come out. Absolutely ridiculous length of time to dispense the remaining water, every time I make a bottle I think the machine has broken. The icons are really hard to see on the new machine as well as the top panel is shiny acrylic which reflects the light and so the lights don’t show up well unless it’s in the dark. This was complicated to set up as well. Most importantly the 4oz feed is way too hot for a baby on this machine, I have no idea what’s going on with it but this machine is dangerous, and other reviewers clearly have the same issue so it’s nothing to do with me. I will be returning this to boots and purchasing the old version.

Awesome bit of kit. Only lasted a few days doing this without it - wish I had have gotten it even sooner! 10/10 - would buy again!
My daughter has this amazing machine for our new grandson. It looks super smart and has been really straightforward to use. It's so quick and takes all the worry away about getting it right. So much better than the way we used to do it! I am thinking about getting one at our house for when they come over as it is not really portable.
So happy I upgraded from my old Perfect Prep. I don’t have too much bench space in my kitchen and this one saves on space, also having the removable jug makes it easier to fill up. This definitely saves loads of time when you have a very hungry and upset baby. I love the convenience of the bottle being made so quick and at the right temperature for my baby to drink straight away. It has been a huge lifesaver, especially during the night feeds! Can’t recommend enough!
I owned an old perfect prep machine and it worked very well. It was simple to operate, the lights let you know when there was an issue such as the filter needed changed or the water was too hot. As we were expecting our second baby I decided to get it out of storage. Unfortunately it did not survive the 2 years of being packed away so I needed to buy a new one. I noticed the machine had had a redesign but didn't think much of it and bought it. The jug is now detachable, meaning that I can fill directly from the tap which is good, but that is the only positive change. You now have to connect it to your phone via bluetooth to update the machine, as well as updating you with issues such as low water. As it is a bluetooth connection you have to be near the machine for it to work, so I can see the low water light on the machine anyway. It loses connection a lot and is so overly complicated for what used top be a simple machine. The main issues are the temperature of the feed it produces, the time it takes to prepare a feed and the troubleshooting questions the customer service reps ask. Temperature- the temperature of the 4oz feed it too hot. Only after looking at reviews I have seen that others have had the same issue. It is far too hot to give to a newborn baby. Speed - with the old prep machine, I pressed the button and the hot water was dispensed. It then beeped, I added the formula and swilled it around a little bit, pressed the button again and the cold water was instantly dispensed. With this one, after I add the formula and press the button it takes over 90 seconds for the water to begin to dispense. 90 seconds is a long time with a crying baby in the middle of the night. Customer service - I have brought up the above with Tommee Tippee via their chat function. Conversations which have taken a few hours of my time over the last week. The questions they ask are infuriating, impractical and some are just totally irrelevant. Some of their questions/suggestions are below: Where and when you bought the machine Your full name, phone number, address and postcode Please download the app and set up your machine Where is your machine placed Is this the case on all feed sizes Please provide an image of where the machine is placed Please provide an image from the doorway showing where the machine is placed Please provide a video of you preparing a bottle from the machine Confirm what version you are using and look to see if you need to update How many swirls are you doing when you add the formula How long has the water been in the jug Has this happened on every bottle since the machine was first used Are you using a thermometer or the wrist test What height is the bottle stand Is formula being added when the final feed is too hot Had the bottle just been sterilized when the final feed was too hot To me all of this points to 'find any reason why these things are happening rather than blaming the machine'. Asking for the above is just too much when you obviously have a newborn and time is very precious. Another annoying note is I actually did make a video to show how long it took to dispense. The video was too long to be uploaded to the chat and I was asked if I could shorten the video. It was a video to show the length of time it took to make a bottle, shortening it is pointless! I have arranged to return the prep machine.

Such a dangerous product! This should be recalled immediately. We purchased this and tested it before using it to feed our newborn. We used cold water from the tap so we know it wasn’t an issue with this, but the bottle came out at over 40 degrees! Terrifying if someone hadn’t tested it and ended up causing life altering injuries to their baby. I have reported this to trading standards as it is so dangerous. I cannot believe they are still being sold!!
So bought this on recommendation from friends who had the older style (tried and tested) perfect prep night and day machine. Should of bought the classic. as per all the other reviews makes feed far to hot highest we had 44c. crazy how this been ignored from a company who makes just baby/children related items. we did multiple tests and all above 40c. I strongly believe the issue comes in on the smaller feeds where there is less cool water added. we tried a large feed bottle and guess what the temps were less that 40c. So id say for older child with larger feeds probably be ok. but no way risking it for new born. returned and bought the now discontinued older model and tested works absolutely fine 37/38c . such a shame this model not been sorted for this known issue all over the web.
Like many other reviews, the milk content is too hot (>45c for 4oz bottle). We flagged this to tommee tippee and they wouldnt acknowledge this. Their suggestion was to add ice or wait longer for it to cool - which is not the purchasing point or description of this product. ‘Body temp in 90secs’. May as well buy a kettle. They dont refund once you have tested the machine (not sure how else you find a fault) and only after a lot of messages and follow up calls, are generously offering to ‘test it’. Incredibly bad experience and not worth the risk of purchasing given the sheer lack of understanding, help, and potential child health risks.
I am buy thiz but its not working not water warm .. its total waste of money ... i do many time msg but they didn't respond to me
Loving the product, so easy to use and looks great in my kitchen!
The machine is dangerous. It prepares the feed of over 40 degrees and dispenses too little water (c30ml short). Customer service won’t acknowledge the faults. That’s £139.99 wasted and back to boiling water for the feeds. Awful product and awful company to deal with
Really disappointed with this model. I had the older model for my twins and never had a problem with the temperature of feeds. They always came out perfect. I bought the new model for my newborn and the temperature of a 4oz feed is way too hot. You need to cool it down before every feed. I have tried everything, cold water from the fridge in the hopper, ice in the hopper etc but it is still too hot. Also it claims it makes the perfect temperature bottle in 90 seconds(the old model did) this one definitely takes much longer to make and then you have to cool it therefore taking much longer. I am really disappointed and have been told by customer services that this is not a common problem and the machine won’t make a hot feed. This is wrong!
Do not buy this machine - it is dangerous, unusable and should be withdrawn/recalled from the market. The feeds come out far too hot (over 40 degrees) and cannot be fed to baby without spending time cooling it down, defeating the whole point of the prep machine. I have tested multiple times on different days with an accurate thermometer and have even compared it to my old style prep machine which has perfect temperatures. Despite this comparison, customer services still claim my thermometer must be inaccurate! What a joke customer services are. They question everything you tell them to try to avoid giving you a refund. Additionally, during this hot weather we are having, the machine is often completely unusable anyway as the water in the machine and jug gets too hot. The machine is unusable basically if the air temperature is more than 25 degrees. I had to resort to buying ready made liquid formula during the heatwave as I am not spending time emptying and refilling the machine with new cold water before every single feed, day and night. No mum of a newborn has time for that. I hope customer services get back in touch to arrange my refund otherwise I will ask my bank to refund the transaction. I purchased direct from Tommee Tippee and still the customer service is shocking. If you have an old style prep machine I suggest keeping it and avoiding this new version.
The machine is dangerous and should be withdrawn. The machine makes feeds too hot for infants and despite extensive correspondence with customer services and an inordinate amount of troubleshooting two different machines are producing feeds at least 44 degrees Celsius which would burn an infants mouth - absolutely flabbergasted these are still on sale - do not purchase and if you have one please check the temperature of the feed before giving to your little ones
Doesn’t work during hot weather unless you keep the jug in the fridge to combat the issue. A right pain. Not worth the money.
This product is not fit for purpose and unsafe, delivering feeds that are way too hot for babies. Have tried all the suggested fixes to no avail - product should be recalled.

Not worth it, customer service said it does not work during hot weather, and said if we would like the machine to be looked at would take 21 days and I would have to feed the baby using the kettle, very poor customer service
We used the older style machine with our first baby and we loved it, so convenient and never caused us any issues. We were excited to use this with our second baby and have been totally let down. This product is not safe for babies, I can’t believe that with all of these complaints there hasn’t been a product recall. It is making 4oz bottles that have been between 42-50 degrees! It is so unsafe for baby and I find it scary that Tommee Tippee still have this machine on sale when it is a known issue. The software update they mention that “fixes the 1% of machines with issues” does nothing. So so disappointed. Avoid at all costs even if you have used previous models, it cannot be trusted!
The prep machine makes the bottle too hot! The cold water is not cold. The older prep machines are way better and don’t have this problem. This needs to be recalled as it’s not safe temp!
Devastated. Formula is too hot, at least for the 4 oz pour. I used cold water from the refrigerator. Very disappointed. The problem seems to be significantly less cold water dispensed than needed after the hot shot
