Absolute sharks on the letting side

Absolute sharks on the letting side. They really don't care about the tenants or the community around the property they let. They will think nothing about putting bad tenants in a property which impacts the rest of the street. The so called helpline you get passed over to the attitude is horrendous and so rude. This is a money grabbing company with no shame.

Terribly run company

I use them to manage my property for renting.
Poor service. Tenants complain that it takes weeks to get a response. I don't receive communication, sometimes for 6 months on urgent matters.
Neighbors file complaints about the property and Townends don't resolve issues which leaves everyone unhappy.
Avoid this company.

Awful estate agents, steer well clear

Awful estate agents. Avoid at all costs. Lied from the start, were incompetent throughout and never got the job done. The initial sales guy was useless, and so were all his colleagues.

Part way through they were taken over by another company and no-one told me. Despite me telling them to leave me alone I still get regular calls from them harassing me. Next time I will put a restraining order on the company

Absolute incompetents

Absolute incompetents, did not fix central heating for 1 month and they lied in the contract, and a long etc. Horrible experience, took the case to the Courts of Law and won it. They made absolute fools of themselves, embarrassing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

NOT RECOMMENDED

Their partner (INEX) knowing that I am in urgent situation was asking me to pay £2000 (I took the risk to loose the agreed tenant) and paid £200 to a third party (instead of £2000) for the EICR.
On day 2 after signed the contract with them, the communication has been lost. Not answering on telephone calls, voice mails or emails.
They kept 6 months rents without debited anything to my account.
No complaint policy, no part of Property Ombudsman.
I told them that I want to stop having business with them and they told me that if I want to leave, I have to pay them £1000 per year for the next 3 years as it states in the contract. (but I have never signed a such contract)

I rented the place from Town Ends

I rented the place from Town Ends, They didn’t check the place properly before renting it out. First few months showering with cold water. Heating doesn’t work, never worked at all. I can keep going on for hours about how they’re behaving… I have had no choice than to put a solicitor on the case to follow it …

Mark Shepherd

This review is for Mark Shepherd at the Englefield Green office.
Mark was very professional, he was honest and we had a great experience with him. Mark really went above and beyond and we highly recommend.

Thank you so much!

If only I had read these reviews…

If only I had read these reviews first!! I was persuaded to market my property thru them and felt hopeful! In practice, they paid little interest and certainly did not communicate very regularly with advice or constructive feedback! I gave them the opportunity to respond to me privately which to date they have not which is hardly surprising as they do not respond to any criticism on this site either! So maybe they have no defence!!

Townends were a royal pain in the neck

Townends were a royal pain in the neck. They didn't communicate with each other or with me. Left hand didn't know what the right hand is doing. They have this so called sales progression team that don't progress anything go off leave it with someone else who gives you wrong information, other person comes back and tells you the exact opposite or leave it with someone else who doesn't know it was left with them at all. best bit is during the whole debacle they rebranded and closed the branch and no-one thought to tell me the client. defensive and downright obstructive. In the end it got done by me constantly pushing and not because they had a handle on it.Beware, the only efficient part is billing! Shan't be using them again

Dishonest marketing

Marketed a house knowing a good portion of the garden didn’t belong to the house. I found out after spending £3500 on conveyancing fees and other costs the day before completion. After I backed out of the sale they are again marketing the house and courtyard garden Without informing a large part of the courtyard garden does not belong to the house. I would call that dishonest

NEVER CONSIDER THIS COMPANY!

Never make use of this company. I have have had them as letting agents for 4 years now, and they have paid me late every month for 4 years! I have also bought a property through them, and this is how an long time customer gets treated. Since May this year, they stopped paying me at all, although the tenant has paid on time. 4 months later I realise I have not received any rent from them. I called 8 days ago, and have tried to speak to someone that can actually help, to no avail. I made a call everyday since, with no returned calls. If you get through, its the same excuse, they waiting for something, from somewhere! No one here cares about your money at all. I just made another useless call to head office . . . and they will get back to me, no resolution whatsoever. DONT EVER CONSIDER THIS COMPANY FOR ANY SORT OF AGENCY BUSINESS!

Friendly, helpful, professional, a great team @ Staines!

From the first moment I spoke with Claire at the Staines branch I knew they were the estate agent for me. Claire gave me fantastic advice before I even instructed them. Every step of the way Claire and Derek kept me in the loop, gave me honest helpful advice and Ironed out any creases that occurred along the way. They secured a sale within the first week of the flat being on the market, which completed in under 4 months. Well done Staines branch, friendly, helpful and great job done. Would highly recommend!

Then they have no one answering their calls on a monday morning, how unprofessional and pathetic,

Incompetant and more trouble than it's worth

If only we had checked their trustpilot score we could have saved ourselves so much stress and money. These people are beyond incompetant. I almost want to congratulate them for getting paid to not do anything. They pressured us to move into a property that wasn't completed. We found out on the day of moving in the flooring wasn't done. No one even apologised to us, they just brushed it off like it wasn't a big deal (even though they promised the work would be completed). Embarrassing service and just another example of how renters in this country get shafted at every opportunity. Avoid at all costs

As useless as ever

I’m a landlord. Never again with these incompetents.
4 or so years ago a tenancy failed when the tenants simply didn’t move in - I swore then ‘never again’

Fast forward to now, exactly the same thing happened - no one there seems to bother chasing the tenants once they’ve signed to make sure it’s all going ok.

Re let as emergency thru them at £100 month less - so I’m down £1200 for the year. It happens, but as a goodwill gesture I asked them to forgo a £51 fee. Can’t do it. Never mind not the end of the world

Anyway tenancy started 02/08/21 all money in by 04/08/21, here we are a week later they have still not yet paid me a balance of over £3000 due.

It’s strange, they were really good up till about 5-6 years ago when ‘Eve’ worked there. Not any more I’m sorry to say.

You live and learn…in my case I only lived and didn’t learn but I have now. You couldn’t pay me to use these incompetents again.

Not for me, and not for you either if you’ve got any brains, use spare room or open rent.

Rude Dismissive & Discriminatory

tried to apply for a house but was not allowed to and discriminated against because me and my partner own our own businesses, we turn over more then £600k pa we have over 20 people that work for us and have enough money in the bank to pay the rent for 15 years but "we don't qualify" but one of my managers that works for me who i pay £45k pa to would qualify for the house?, as soon as they realized that we are "self employed" they became disinterested and dismissive and didn't return calls or emails. it doesn't make sense, the person who is looking down there nose at us makes a year what one of our businesses make a month?

maybe it wasn't about the money, maybe it was race
who knows as they don't RESPOND TO EMAILS

katie at sunbury branch,

this is the 2nd time in a few months you have done this,

we have lodged complaints at both
nick dunning associates
and
the Property Ombudsman ref: 64137
