THIS IS THE WORST ESTATE AGENCY!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM THEY WILL DO NOTHING FOR YOU BUT TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!

I rented a one bedroom flat from this estate agency done all the paperwork and paid them the rent one month's in advance and 6 weeks deposit (never got the deposit back) when it came time to hand over the keys they took their time and I told them I was going to be travelling abroad in a few days and needed the keys before travelling the didn't give me the keys before I travelled (What a useless lot of people that work at this angecy literally). I came back from my travels a couple weeks later collected the keys I was only given one key which I couldn't get cut cause it it a security key so I had to share the one key with my wife which was so inconvenient also that one key was the key that open the back door access into the building and our flat door had times when my wife would travel to her mother's place and I would get back home from work after midnight and couple times I had to sleep in the staircase or go to my friends house close by, the letter box key was wrong and the fob into the building didn't work or was the wrong fob, before I came back from my travels I requested the property to be professionally cleaned as when we done the viewing the property had a lot of junk behind the sofas and all the surfaces, floors were dusty they simply ignored my request so I moved into a dirty flat with junk kept behind the sofas. When I explained to the property management about the state of the property when moving in she told me to leave the property in the same state when I move out the terrible unprofessional attitude is real dealing with these people at townends, it is disgusting. Months went by the building management decided to change the way people enter the building the only way to enter building was using a fob which we didn't have. One time me, my wife and daughter went out for dinner came back home late evening it was winter my little one was a few months old and we got stranded outside the building as the concierge wasn't around to let us into the building we had to wait outside in the winter cold till someone entering the building opened the door and we tailgated in we waited outside for an 1hour maybe more this was the last straw for me and I told the agency I was planning to move out. I eventually managed to find a better place to live and moved out after my month's notice was up. I didn't get the keys to the property on the day the move date was so I told the agency I would not pay them for the period I didn't have the keys and when it came time to moving out they kept saying I needed to pay them for the time period I wasn't even living in the property as I hadn't been given the keys I refused to pay them for that and till this day they still owe me £1400 this company are a bunch of crooks stay away from them.

Very bad. 1 week we write emails for studio flat. They wanted a 6 month deposit, I agreed and finally canceled my application. They knew I had to move out and I had very little time, and yet they left me on the street at the last minute. Very frivolous of them.

I have had the absolute pleasure of dealing with a fantastic agent named Luka Mihaljinac with regards to purchasing a property. There have been a number of challenges to secure the property and Luka has gone over and beyond to be helpful. What has also been refreshing is his total transparency which is often not the case with a lot of agents. I would thoroughly recommend him and his entire team if what you are looking for is a seamless and honest experience.

Over the years I have had my shared of shifty and dishonest letting agencies in London. After all, the 'we grab your money and give you nothing in return' is a quite popular strategy.

These people win the cake as the most disgustingly and openly dishonest bunch of pirate I have ever had the displeasure of having to deal with.

I enquired about a flat online. I received a call back from an agent, who started asking personal details (my line of work, money, more money, money,money, how much I made a month, a year...) right away, and asked me how much I was looking to spend. When I told him my budget, he let out a little and extremely rude snort. Then he proceeded to tell me that wasn´t enough (although the original property was within the budget) and that property was not on the market anymore (even though it´s still available on their website). He sent me other 2 properties way above my budget. During the whole conversation he refused to reply to my questions and was pretty rude, to the point of laughing at how much money I made.

Just had a viewing with Max and he is very fun and professional person.

Aaron Potter is star, he achieved what I could not imagine, his help during weekends is what led to eventually securing a property, I highly recommend him, very supportive and always open to suggest alternatives. He is an Asset Townends.

After calling several times and emailing to view a property in Chiswick, I finally got an appointment. Whilst en route to the property the agent calls and said they are unable to get keys!! Again I persevered and called the agents after the holiday period with a promise that someone would get back to me. Deadly silence. I managed again to make an appointment and AGAIN ten minutes before the appointment thay called to say they are unable to get into the property. Not only not being able to answer simple questions about square footage they secure the applicants but cannot gain access to the property they have advertised! Not only are the Chiswick Office unprofessional, but you also have the manager SAT at home apparently working. This is exactly why estate agents have no respect from the public. I feel sorry for the landlord who has to pay ridiculous fees for a sub-standard service. Chiswick office AVOID.

You know how people who work in property sometimes get an unfair reputation? My past experiences with letting agents have generally been smooth-sailing but townends really taught me where the stereotype comes from.

Even our landlord that we had to deal with personally hates them -because townends do a sh*te job of managing his property- and they can’t wait to be rid.

If you don’t want anything done in a hurry and like being spoken to like you’re stupid, rent through townends.

1* out of five because there seems to be one gentleman who works at townends who takes his job seriously, I get the impression he’s the manager though and shouldn’t have hired any of the rest of the staff there.

At best they are disorganised, at worst dishonest and misleading. Incorrect info about council tax banding given and they switched me to their preferred energy supplier presumably for commission, against my wished. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I started my Real Estate career at Townends and I couldn't of asked for a better agency to start at.

They were very thorough in teaching me how everything works. Bethany and Carlo were especially good. They are a big family and are very knowledgeable in their area.

I have never met nicer Directors of a company, they made sure I was fully supported throughout my stay at Townends which definitely left a lasting impression.

There is loads of support, a great work-life balance, room for progression and a good commission structure.

Great company and staff, highly recommend.

We are really pleased with our property. Nick and Staff were very helpful.
For now everything seems to be fine.

Avoid at all cost. They leased me a property that wasn't cleaned at all, with dirt and disgusting mould like patches on the walls and by the windows. Agency and the landlord claimed that it is professionally cleaned which was obviously not true (see from the pictures).

On top of that I was left without heating and hot water for my first 2 days at the apartment and agency didn't provide any assistance or help during these drastic circumstances. In addition, when I was trying to receive help or guidance my point of contact in agency blocked me even on WhatsApp. They are a abusing the Covid-19 pandemic to scam people into renting unfit properties for living.

I have leased from different agencies across 3 countries and I can certainly claim that is the most unprofessional agency I ever had contact with and the experience has been dreadful. Please avoid signing with them unless you want to live in a dump with no heating and having a constant headache getting any assistance from them.

Worst letting agent I've had the experience of using in 25 years of renting. Awful customer service, zero accountability, rude staff and lots of veiled threats. Have had genuinely sleepless nights because of these charlatans. Bunch of thugs who couldn't care less about the tenants. Avoid them like the plague...or coronavirus, which is much more relevant! Expect a multitude of errors from their various different service vendors and watch them take none of the blame and all of your money. Try and make a complaint if you can and then take it directly to the Property Ombudsman once they refuse to take any responsibility.

Appalling company. Don't listen to you. Try to impose contract on guarantor that gives unlimited liability for damage not just guaranteeing rent. Fail to address concerns when raised, just say that's their standard contract take it or leave it. Didn't even answer questions raised.

An extremely unprofessional service from the staff in Egham. They treat students with no respect or courtesy and just want to take your money without a quality service. The staff clearly lack competent training and are simply not interested. We had numerous issues with the staff in the branch who forced viewings upon us without our consent, and failed to communicate a change in our deposit amount. I would not recommend them to anyone, stay clear!
