I never, EVER thought I'd be giving a good review to an Estate Agent, but the guys in Putney really added value for us. Our house purchase was delayed and delayed for months (no chain!) due to solicitor incompetence. The agents in Putney were really good with keeping us informed - we got much more help from them than our own solicitor. Would recommend and use them again.

Had experience of estate agents over the past 25 years and these really are the worst
Tried renting a property, was stalled for days , no communication ignored phone calls etc
Was told my offer had been accepted then tried to involve me in a bidding war
No morals , very unprofessional
You have been warned don’t get involved with these

Worst agency in the UK . As a landlord they allow my tenants to breach their contract. I don't allow pets they let 3 dogs stay in my 1 bed flat and an extra tenant and then have the gaul to tell me that they cant do an inspection as the tenants need peace and tranquillity when they are breaching their contract. They never reply to emails or calls. Some of the staff are so clueless you may as well employ chimps. NEVER EVER USE TOWNENDS.if minus points were available they would get it
Also their fees are ludicrous and they over charge for everything. Their own handyman couldn't even measure a washing machine correctly. Stay well away if you are a landlord. If a tenant go for it as they let you destroy property and breach contracts as you need a peaceful life!!

I have finally finished my year of renting through townends in Twickenham, they were absolutely terrible. Emails always ignored whether it be about a small issue or a large issue, we had faults with our electrical box and many occasions Townends ignored concerns. Twickenham staff lied a number of times throughout the year, and are still causing issues with deposit now we have left. If you can help it avoid the agency!

Unacceptable.
We have let a flat in Guildford through Townends. We opted for for full management. When there was a minor electrical problem, we were asked if we wanted Townends to find an electrician: we said yes.
They used a property management firm, who sent their electrician in to do an estimate. We were charged £96 for the estimate which was for £370 (plus the £96 of course!) a total of £466 We found a qualified electrician who estimated and did the job for £150 - and he wasn't the cheapest!

Unacceptable service level for tenants. Poor communication, failure to complete maintenance, do not answer phone calls or emails.

The recent five star reviews on this site have been posted by employees of the company and their families. This is precisely the kind of dishonest behaviour other one-star posters are frustrated with.

Rather than flood sites with fake reviews, Towends could focus on improving their service to tenants.

Great service from start to finish with finding a property. Would definitely use again. Good staff and communication from the Staines branch.

Couldn't be happier with the service and the staff at Townends Croydon. Very professional and friendly and officiant. Would defiantly recommend them. It really was the smoothest house move I have experienced.

When my uncle passed away in December I was left with a property to sell and had a few agents come to see me, I choose Townends as they were very professional but they listened and understood the situation I was in, throughout the whole process I was kept informed and Sam and the guys took the pressure of me and dealt with everything including doing meter readings so I didn’t need to go back to the property. Theses guys are so amazing and they really care about the client nothing was to much trouble I can’t recommend them enough. I would actually give 10 stars �.

Absolutely fantastic agents! Friendly, efficient and attentive. Couldn’t recommend the team more highly. As a tenant and landlord I would wholeheartedly recommend you use Townends Addlestone

I dealt with Sunbury-On-Thames branch when buying a house recently. The service and professionalism was spot on. If I can ever summon up the energy to move again I will be using Townends ... Highly recomended.

I'd been renting my property out myself but was really struggling with new legislation and landlord responsibilities. It was pretty onerous managing the property especially being miles away tbh. Had a few agents over but quite liked the new offering from Townends - rent protection etc. It's been a few weeks but things seem to be doing ok - less hassle anyway. Would recommend Townends.

Amazing company

I let my property for 5 years with Staines Townends and Joanna Eden was amazing always kept me updated and the communication was spot on.

Appalling customer service. They will lie to your face about anything to get your money.

Their rental fees are unjustifiable £600 for a contract. Never use the South Norwood branch. Fiona is one of Most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. She will scream and hung up the phone. I recommend Jukes estate agent around the corner.

The worst agency ever.
Landlord was trying to con us by not giving us £400 out of £1700 after we did the repairs. The agents acted unethically and unprofessionally.

After few months we wanted to rent a flat - they convinced the all their landlords not to deal with us which was an extreme measure. We actually paid £200 for the cleaning carpet and fixed small details.
They are completely ruthless.

I paid Townends Streatham a full management fee monthly from 2007 to 2015 to fully manage the leasing out of my flat. By the time I took back the flat it was in a squalid condition. My friend Olivia actually cried when we entered it first. It was like something you’d see on Hoarders Buried Alive. I don’t think they checked the property once. Also, they had lost their set of the keys. Avoid.

Anna Wilson is an extremely knowledgeable and professional Sales Negotiator. She will always go the extra mile for her clients and is a true example of what an Estate Agent should represent, knowledge, decency and honesty! She will work harder than anyone else to sell your home and get you a good price. Highly recommend! My only choice!
