I booked a 2 night stay in the Muntjac treehouse. 4 days before my arrival date my mother in law unexpectedly died in horrific circumstances. I emailed the Treehouse Retreat people to cancel the trip. I did not ask for a refund of the £1585 I had paid, I asked to be able to move the dates/get a voucher for the value of the trip. Victoria at Treehouse Retreats would only offer me a £650 voucher, pocketing £935 for themselves. Literally profiting from my circumstances. £650 is also not enough to book another stay either so I would have had to cough up more money. That customer service is disgusting. I would have accepted moving the trip one or two weeks back (I.e. still in dreary Feb).
Not being able to afford the loss, I spent the next 2 days trying to find friends who could take the trip on short notice. Luckily I found someone. They reported to me that the outdoor bath uses up all of the hot water and only rises halfway. What a rip off for £600 plus per night.

What a place! Absolutely loved it, special thanks to the golf buggy - we had such fun on it.

Every aspect of our stay was exceptional. This was a birthday surprise for my boyfriend and he was so very impressed. A communication on WhatsApp was started pre arrival, for any questions and to notify them of our time of arrival. We were met and accompanied to our treehouse in our personal golf cart. The treehouse had been heated, a virtual log fire was on the t.v and a hamper full of high quality goodies was on the table. Every attention to detail had been captured, including a festive door wreath and real Christmas tree. The place itself was spotless, with high quality products and home and kitchen equipment that make you run to John Lewis with a list to duplicate them at home. Even though it was December we used the outdoor bath and could have soaked all day, taking in the views and wildlife. The Cowdray farm shop and tearooms are lovely, as are the grounds and surrounding villages which you can get to on foot. We stayed in Chukka and having done a lot of research to decide where to stay for this treat, I would not hesitate to recommend Treehouse Retreats and the treehouse we stayed in.

Perfect location in the woods - enjoyed the golf buggy, the outside bath and seeing deer and squirrels with our coffee/cocktails!
Luxurious and stylish inside with everything we needed for a romantic Christmas break.
Can’t wait to come back !

We extended our stay, twice! We did not want to leave.
What an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish!
Victoria and Paul were fantastic - so welcoming, friendly, and knowledgable.
The treehouse is positioned so you are fully immersed into the woodland and we spotted a Muntjac Deer from our window whilst eating breakfast! What a treat!
Having the use of a buggy throughout the stay was great fun and we could hop in and visit the shop and cafe in a few mins. We would drive to the main entrance of the treehouses and walk past the polo field and ruins into the village which was a lovely scenic walk.
There is so much to do and explore and we have a list to do, for next time.
The treehouse itself was beautiful, containing everything you need for a very comfortable and relaxing stay (I have bought the same hand wash and sanitiser from Bower - so gentle on my sensitive skin). The hamper was a generous and much appreciated added extra. We cannot rate our stay highly enough and look forward to returning.

We had a two night stay Mon - Wed but did not want to leave!
Great communication via WhatsApp from Jane before and on arrival, thank you Jane for the warm welcome. We loved the golf cart ride and uniqueness of our surroundings.
Truly 5* what a romantic and special retreat. We spent ages star gazing from the wooden bath on the deck and watching the Autumn leaves dancing to classical music playing from the Robert’s radio inside. A luxurious bed and bedding, everything you could need in the kitchen, glorious walks and the cafe and farm shop close by. A real switch off and totally relaxing.

One of the best weekends away we have had for a long time. Great intentions to try nearby restaurants and explore local towns but apart from the compulsory visit to The Duke of Cumberland Arms pub all we wanted to do was to relax in our cosy luxuriously appointed treehouse and enjoy the scenery walking the dog around the estate.
Many thanks to Victoria for her warm welcome and help over the weekend.
Highly recommend

To be 100% honest, I'm writing this review very carefully as I almost don't want too many people to find out about this place and make it harder for us to re-book ourselves. Can't offer enough praise on every aspect of our short weekend break, the people, the wonderful reception, the personal golf buggy's, the overall location in the forest and the stunning ruins - the autumnal walks along the river, the beautiful little town with its shops and pubs and the fortune you can easily spend in the Cowdrey Farm Shop (which we did). The cabin itself is spotless and wonderfully well appointed in true 5* fashion... the beds are SUPER comfy which always helps as well. If at any point that decided to place a small 2 person hot tub on the deck outside and perhaps a little wood burner inside for the colder months (for the cosiness rather than needing any extra heat) - I fear we would have to be evicted to leave !

From the very first minute you pull up into the guest car park and are met by guest reception team you feel this is special. Climb into your electric golf buggy and then a 5 mins drive across Cowdray and up into the woods to find your treehouse.
The team at THR are the difference they make you feel special. The treehouse is 5* with so much attention to detail, lovely furnishings, great use of calming, natural colours and materials.
Access to walks, the farm shop and great cafe all by golf buggy is great fun and handy. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay with my daughter, son in law and my grandson and will be back soon! Thank you

We booked a last minute stay and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The whole experience was wonderful - the meet and greet including the introduction to our own golf buggy was so informative and the buggy so much fun! Welcome information sent via email was really useful and the welcome hamper full of goodies a lovely surprise. The accommodation is beautiful - everything has been thought of and is of such high quality! We’ve come home with a list of bits we want to purchase for our own home now! It was so relaxing up amongst the trees, the outdoor bath was a really lovely touch as was the outdoor seating and lighting meaning we enjoyed the evenings outside. The bed was SO comfy and the bed linen was really high quality too. We explored the estate, wandered into town, ate in the cafe and bought lots of bits in the farm shop too! We'd definitely return…but this time for longer!

The kids and I had a magical few days at the treehouse (Muntjac). They especially loved the electric buggy, outdoor bath and buying provisions from the amazing Cowdray farm shop. Autumn is a very special time to visit and we spent a whole day exploring the estate and sites nearby on foot. I also appreciated all the thoughtful touches (personal greeting, welcome basket, all the equipment we might need) and cleanliness.

From booking to the final day everything was perfect, Victoria was very helpful with advising us as to the location of the treehouses, we chose Muntjac, which was in amongst the woodland, and had a lovely wooden bath on the balcony outside, which was great to soak in under the stars. The golf buggy was fun, and really helped when getting back onto the main track, and the Cowdrey Estate Farm shop and cafe were easily accessible.
Everything inside the Treehouse was of the best quality, including crockery and pots and pans, all gold star!
We will most definitely return, it was an experience of the very best.
Thankyou to the Treehouse team.

A lovely family short break. We stayed in Buzzard, which was decorated beautifully and we enjoyed relaxing in the outside bath! The use of a golf buggy to travel to and from the treehouse is fun. The estate is lovely, the farm shop is excellent and all the staff so friendly (Victoria & Paul were extremely helpful). We would definitely recommend for a relaxing break!

The most gorgeous few days at TreeHouse Retreats. All the luxuries you could need while being surrounded by nature. One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in and the outdoor bath was heaven! Such a special place.

I've wanted to stay in a treehouse for a long time and, after much research, chose THR. One requirement was that it had to be dog friendly and our dog had the best couple of days ever, we all did!
Everything was spot on. Excellent customer service, fabulous location and spotless, cosy accommodation. We stayed in Buzzard and made use of the outdoor bath despite the chill in the air as there was more than enough hot water!
The farm shop is wonderful, we were spoilt for choice. We also placed a food order with Little Fish who advertise by the farm shop. The food was stunning.
On top of all that, a food hamper was left for us by THR and we got to use a golf buggy! What's not to love?

Wonderful treehouse (Muntjac) for a couple of nights with the family. We loved it - from the outside bath to the golf cart commutes! A great weekend.

Despite the great British weather of rain, rain and more rain, I and my friend Nick enjoyed our stay at the Tree-house retreat in Midhurst. Beautiful and tranquil surroundings with everything and more provided in Muntjac to make it a luxurious stay, worth every penny. Highly recommend THR if you want a mini break away in nature for a couple of days. We loved it!

I just loved our stay at Griffin so much that I have found myself still thinking about it most days since we left!! The quality of the treehouse and the interior is perfect and the kitchen was a real delight to cook in. I am certain we will be back 🥰
