It is amazing how a child who believed he just cannot do math

We live in Stevenage, Hertfordshire and have Alex as my 11 year old son's maths tutor. He is so patient and explains everything extremely well. Firstly, he gave my son some lessons in the holidays to boost his confidence for senior school. We continued during term time. He ties everything in with what my son is currently working on in class. My son's confidence has gone through the roof. We started with a child who did not perform well in tests, to a child who recently got the top mark in the year ! This is all thanks to Alex who has really given my son a sense that nothing is impossible and to aim high. I would totally recommend Tutor Doctor and Alex.

Tutor doctor give a really dedicated service. My tutor Emjet is really committed to getting the best out of my son who can be stubborn at times but Emjet perseveres each time and gets results. He also considers my views and suggestions in getting the best out of my son. I feel like he really cares about him and wants the best results each time. Emjet is totally focused and I feel extremely confident that with Emjet’s help we will get excellent results.

I have had a good experience using Mr Gupta, tutor doctor in Peterborough. He sourced an excellent English tutor for my son, in the 4+months we have used him we have seen some good progress and intend to continue.

Our Tutor LUCAS here in London is AMAZING!!! We cannot say enough about him. Our son struggles with math and Lucas has been working with him for almost a year now and is excellent. Highly recommend both LUCAS and Tutor Doctor.

As a teacher with 28 years of experience, I feel that this is one organisation to avoid. First told that the person who I needed to speak to would phone me back. I had to phone again and left another message. This person then phoned me. After arranging a time to speak properly, I had to call him on his mobile 1/2 hour after the arranged time, only to be told that he was very busy as it was his birthday and he hadn't phoned me yet. Set up an appointment for an online interview. Questions asked made me worry as there was nothing about safeguarding, my qualifications etc. I was told that there weren't many students looking for English teachers but he was sure there would be some and he would be happy to take me on as a tutor. I asked what documents I needed to send and was told that I would receive an email detailing all that. Well, that was over 5 weeks ago and that email has never come. Sad part is that the owner of the franchise has missed the opportunity to have an experienced English teacher who has had students ranked in the Top 10 of the world for IGCSEs and A-Levels and gone on to places like Cambridge and Imperial College. Not too bothered as I work for another agency that pays better and is on the ball. I was horrified to see on another review what parents pay for this service - what the tutor actually gets is an insult.

Simon from Tutor Doctor Barnet is the only tutor that has been able to motivate my son. He dedicates his time to help each child individually and my son for the first time in 12 years now willingly works with a tutor. Its GCSE year and the input from Tutor Doctor is astounding. He touches base with my son regularly and motivates him with homework/planning his schedule and makes him feel like he is worthy of achieving. Im amazed and very grateful.

We had an initial meeting which looked at our child's needs in detail. We were told that a tutor would be found who would match our child's needs, not just academically but someone who would be able to draw the best out of them. In other words, the tutor's personality would also be taken into account. We were a little cynical about this but were absolutely delighted with the outcome! Daphne's gentle and encouraging approach helped rapidly develop an excellent rapport with our child who had lost all confidence (and interest) in maths. It was very heartening to see this change and our child's confidence and enthusiasm grow. In addition, Daphne soon identified our child's strengths and focussed on developing these, which was morale-boosting. In this way, the tutoring was personalised to our child and we are very grateful for the support our child received.

A few months ago we contacted Mike Coghan from Tutor Doctor Leeds, to look at arranging a maths tutor for our daughter. Mike arranged a Zoom interview with myself, my wife & our daughter, this was really relaxed & covered not only our daughters academic strengths & weaknesses, the type of learning she responded most to, but also her other interests. This helped to match the perfect tutor, Catrina & our daughters maths confidence has grown considerably. We are so pleased we enlisted Mikes help & do not hesitate to recommend his services to our friends & colleagues whenever the opportunity arises.

Vancouver Location shady practices. I would avoid them if you can because of their business practices. They will be very persistent in offering you multiple times (even if you refuse) to buy huge packages of tutoring classes emphasizing your $2 or so savings per hour if you buy 24 or more hours. What they do not tell you is, of course, hidden in the fine print. They will charge you $150 in admin fee but they would not follow their own contract when required to return money. They will not give you your positive balance back within 30 days as the contract says. They apply their rules to their advantage and they do not follow them. Reported them to Consumer Protection.

Completely waste of money. My son used them twice to prepare for two Grammar school entrance exams year 11 & 13 and both times he didn’t pass. They are unserious and do nothing but take your money.
