Visited DURHAM TYRE SPOT,today for a price for full brake set,on a 2021 ford focus, saved over 60% of what other prices I had been given. Told he could do it straight away, and fitted after only a short time. Excellent service and fantastic price. Well pleased, and would highly recommend.

Used TyreSpot at Houghton in Sunderland for the second time and as usual friendly manager and staff tyre fitters did a great job , they really do the job and you know everything is gonna be perfect, recommend this place to everyone for their tyre needs

I always have an excellent experience at Tyre Spot Houghton-le-Spring. They are helpful and honest - they have picked up on inaccurate information provided by other garages and saved me a lot of money. Had my most recent MOT and service done there, plus 2 new tyres and more than happy with the service.

Saturday pm called Tyre Spot Darlington as I needed 2 new tyres, tyres were in stock, drove over and had them fitted immediately, all within a 60 minute window from initial call.
Call out to Craig who gave me a great competitive price and to Gavin who fitted the tyres in rapid time, brilliant service, well done guys.

Useless and incompetent. Paid over £500 for four new tyres for my mustang, took the day off work to get them fitted only to have them tell me when I got there they don’t have the right car jack. A tyre shop, with no car jack? Literally had one job and failed. Told me they can order one in but would take weeks. I’ve had my tyres changed many times and never had this issue. The car doesn’t come with a specialised jack. Would not trust them at all.

I’ve been a customer for many years and have generally been happy with the service. The staff have always been professional, and I’ve rarely had any issues with the work carried out.

However, as the company has grown, the pricing has increased significantly. A recent example: a tyre quoted at £229 at Tyrespot was available for £169–£171 at several other local businesses. That’s a £58 difference per tyre, which becomes a substantial cost when replacing multiple tyres.

From what I understand, Tyrespot’s management company also owns distribution for certain tyre brands, which likely means an additional margin is being made on top of the retail price. Meanwhile, with the current condition of the roads—potholes, poor maintenance, and lack of sweeping—tyres simply don’t last as long as they used to, regardless of whether they’re budget, mid‑range, or premium.

I recently needed four tyres and couldn’t justify the extra cost. By going elsewhere, I saved over £200—effectively the equivalent of buying three tyres and getting one free compared to Tyrespot’s pricing.

If it’s not urgent, I’d recommend checking local family‑run businesses. They’re often cheaper, and because I was buying four tyres, I received a discount—something Tyrespot used to offer but no longer seems to.

Tyrespot still provides good service, but the pricing gap has become too large to ignore

Hence I now go elsewhere for tyres.

Over priced for parts. As much as 200 percent mark up. Labour is standard price.
Broken oil filler cap, kept quiet and not reported to customer. Safe to say no more visits there. Too expensive and nothing special for the money.

I popped in on a Monday morning to ask for 2 new front tyres as id recently had a puncture. They found the tyres i wanted. I agreed a time to go back and 2 lads were straight on the job and within half an hour I was done and back on the road. No complaint or issues at all and the apprentice, youngest one working there was spot on too really polite and went out of his way to help tha ks again Mr B

Great service from the team at Tyrespot Gosforth branch.

They located the issue with my car and promptly made the necessary repairs and 2 days later I was back on the road.

Prices were reasonable and were within range of what is to be expected for the repairs made.

Returned my car a week later as they didn’t fix the problem which I initially asked for them to look into and fix. Obviously would have preferred not to do that but I accept it can happen.

The manager however was very abrupt, disrespectful and rude despite how inconveniencing it was to do this. Completely lied to me so as dismiss accountability for their mistake. It changed my opinion of him and the garage.

I’ll be taking my car to torque garage moving forward.

Absolute rip off merchants. My partner went in to have a slow puncture repaired and was told it couldn’t be repaired and all 4 tyres needed replaced and that it couldn’t pass an MOT on the current tyres. It passed its MOT with no advisories in August??? They conned her into replacing the 2 rear tyres there and then and said they needed to order in the other 2 and also align the wheels at the cost of another £100. She took pictures of all the tyres and there was absolutely loads of tread on all 4. I told her not to return for the front 2 tyres and are sending the pictures and all information to VOSA as these obviously prey on woman turning up alone. A £25 puncture repair ended up costing £180 and had they had the other 2 tyres in stock the final bill would have been £500.

Appalling to see on invoice I was charged £73.04 (without VAT added on) for 5.5ltr of Castrol GTX oil. I was actually charged for 5.5 one litre cans of oil. Internet research shows a 5ltr container costing £39.
Also charged for 4x1 spark plugs at £15 38 (no VAT) each, £61.52 total
Rang and spoke to Depot manager who was abrupt and abrasive repeatingvtge mantra Head Office set the prices and it's gives a price on their website. I never thought for a minute I would be getting ripped off like this regardless of any advertised price.
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS COMPANY THEY DONT MIND RIPPING OFF CUSTOMERS

For many years I have used Tyre spot on Sandy Lane , Gosforth...but never again. I bought four new Uniroyal tyres from them. Within weeks the low pressure light came on. I returned and was told a faulty valve. Weeks later it happened again and they told me that allegedly a thorn had penetrated my brand new tyre, despite low mileage and never being off road, and I was charged for a repair. At the same time I also had my aircon recharged. Within a few weeks that had failed. I asked them what could be done and was told in a very offhand mannerto go elsewhere, as they don't repair leaks. Surely a leak of that magnitude should have been detectable with a pressure test before a refill. Anyway, they have received the last ever payment from me and I will go to a company which treats customers with respect.

Scotswood Newcastle branch ,superb on tracking,solved a problem competitors could not solve,Hunter tracking 100 % perfect. Forget the rest.

Thanks to Alistair at the Darlington branch for sorting out my issue with the dust protection plates on my BMW. First class service, thanks for a great job.

Called up yesterday for a price on front alignment and 3 x fitting of my own new tyres, got quoted £45 for alignment and £28 per tyre to fit, so I had the tyres fitted else where that was alot cheaper but went in for the alignment, once done they billed me £60 and I told the guy behind the counter I was told £45 on the phone and he told me it was £60 because I had my tyres fitted else where and it was discounted if I had my tyres fitted there, I told him that was not explained to me on the phone otherwise I wouldn't of gone there at all.

Great service at Tyrespot Team Valley. I always go here for tyres and MOTs. This time I had a puncture which they were able to repair in 40mins. Thank you to the team at Team Valley. I highly recommend Tyrespot Team Valley for excellent service at a great price .

Stoke to sales or someone asked about Kormaron tyres or hankook for my Nissan EV gave me both prices went for kormaron he said ok for EV. Went next day only to find out when got home wrong tyres fitted and extra cost for tyre disposal, wheel balancing and tyre valve plus kumho tyre cost more. Would not recommend tyre spot Washington to anyone others in

I can only speak of Birtley, managed by Glen. Absolutely top drawer. Everything i go in, no matter how busy he is, he deals with each and every customer extremely well. Always goes above and beyond and is a true professional with expert knowledge. His workmanship is second to none and the idea of going anywhere else doesn't even come into my mind.
