Superb service from Durham branch

Superb service from Durham branch. Prepared to look at my car just as they were about to close. Tyre was damaged beyond repair but they kindly fitted one of my older (but still legal) tyres to my rim even though it was very close to closing time. Ordered replacement tyre to be fitted here. Very good set of lads.

Superb service from Washington branch

Superb service from Washington branch. Having suffered a blow out on the A1 at Washington, they ordered a special tyre from head office and it was delivered and fitted within 2 hours. They even gave me fresh water for the dog.

Both men were professional and couldn't have been more helpful, both a credit to the company

Simply the Best …..in the North East

Tyre Spot Sandy Lane Gosforth. We cannot thank Stephen and Bryn enough for the great service on 26/10. We had just started a 300 mile journey and had a puncture, which was not repairable. Having phoned ahead and spoke to Stephen around midday, Tyre Spot were the only outlet locally that could source a replacement tyre that day. We did try other competitors locally. Tyre fitted in the timescale stated. Fantastic service and anyone in the area should try this depot.

Not being spoken to like a naughty 3 year old....

Popped in to ask for a value cap to be loosened on a tyre I had fitted that I couldnt loosen but didnt get the chance.... before I had even entered the building someone (the manager I think!) yelled "get back in your car" in a really nasty and unprofessional manner - i was slightly shocked so paused for a second - he opened the door and said it again in the same manner.

I totally understand the need for distancing etc but all he had to ask was could I stay in my car and someone would be out ASAP..... very rude... I wont be back!!!

The staff at Tyre spot Consett were…

The staff at Tyre spot Consett were excellent & went over & above. They booked my van in for a service at very short notice. The supplier failed to deliver the correct oil filter & were closed as it was a Saturday. The staff travelled to Gateshead to obtain the part for my van, so I could have my van back for work on Sunday. They stayed back for over an hour after they were closed to complete my van.

Dreadful customer service from Tyrespot, Blue house lane.

Bought tyres via blackcircles.com and arranged fitting at Tyre spot, Blue house lane, Washington. They questioned everything about my choice of tyres! Another customer bought tyres direct from them and had a totally different experience. I was made to feel inferior! Fuming!!!

Great customer service

Called into Sandy lane today as thought I had a slow puncture. The lads checked my tyre straight away and identified it was a faulty valve. In and out in under 30 minutes with new valve fitted. Excellent customer service and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Been to tyrespot Sandy lane for my car…

Been to tyrespot Sandy lane for my car tracked
I was told I needed 2 new tyres and all 4 wheels tracked £269.99 When I drove out the car the steering wheel was to the right and when I let go it straightened up and the car pulled to the left imidietly, when I looked at the print sheet they give me they had tracked the car to a vw touran CAR which is actually a vw tiguan SUV so I took it back and they tracked it again, it still pulled to the left so I took it back a 3rd time to be told the track rod end boot was split and they wouldn't track it till it was fixed , tried to charge me £60+ Labour, so I decided to have a look at the track rod end and it was more than split and wasn't recent so why did they charge me for 2 tyres+ £69.99 for 4 wheels tracked when that should of been done 1st , absolutely useless and would recommend to anyone to go elsewhere, I'm a mechanic by the way and had just bought the car 2 days earlier.

Tyrespot Scotswood Road - don’t do it!

Attended tyrespot on scotswood road in Newcastle after clipping a kerb and rupturing a tyre wall.

Tyre options were apparently VERY limited - apparent to the range that coincidentally just happened to be on their promotion screens (as this was all I was offered!)

After paying over the odds for a budget tyre, no alignment check was carried out in spite of the circumstance.

When I questioned this, I was informed that they would be closing soon so I’d have to go back the next day. I enquired about booking as is have to attend on lunch break, only to be told no need to book as it would be quiet.

Arrived today to a full waiting room and a minimum half hour wait which I can’t do. It’s obviously now MY responsibility to get the alignment checked as I won’t be going back...EVER!

Absolutely clueless ✊💦

Brilliant service Team Valley

Brilliant service-Team Valley

I took my car in this morning as I needed a new front tyre and tracking checked. They were quick and efficient and had my car back to me in no time. This is the second time I've had a positive experience with this branch and would highly recommend.

Watch your belongings…

Tyre Spot was recommended to me by a friend when I ask her about garages who do not rib off woman. As I was a new driver at the time and know very little about cars. I always used the Team Valley Tyre Spot and can not fault them in any way they were very kind even let me take my dogs into the reception area. Then I moved addresses and I was closer to the Durham tyre spot though I still continued to go there I did not find them as welcoming or friendly like team valley but they did the job. until I bought a Honda the car came with a spare small box of tyre bolts, I had to get one of my tyres checked he box was in the glove box when I went into the garage and not there when I came out. When I asked about where it was they denied ever seeing the box. I know it was there because I checked it before I set off for Tyre Spot as that was the only place I was going and no one else was in the car. Unfortunately I cannot prove it, it is my word against theirs but I believe someone in that garage took my spare wheel bolts and I will never use them again I will say please everyone who uses them be careful of your belongings

No integrity

I have been a loyal Tyre Spot customer for over 20 years and have always admired their integrity. However, on Tuesday 17/07/2018 I asked my wife to take the car in and have the air conditioning unit re-gassed. The front tyres were unevenly worn. One side was well within the required limit, but the other was becoming fairly close to the legal limit on the inside edge. I measured it at just over 2mm, so I asked my wife to have them check it while she was there as I knew they would normally provide a “traffic light” sheet providing a more accurate indication of wear. This was intended primarily for my own peace of mind. She did ask me if they would try to rip her off, but I told her I trusted them and she would be fine. While she was at the Gosforth branch of Tyre Spot, she rang to tell me that she was being told that I needed 2 new tyres. I was rather surprised, but told her just to go ahead with it. Afterwards, she rang again and told me I needed new brake pads. This time I spoke to the person in the reception office who described the pads as being “virtually metal on metal” (a fairly graphic description) and it would cost £80 - £90 to replace them. I declined, stating that I would do the job myself. My wife returned home and handed me a copy of the invoice. This stated “Front brake pads 90% worn customer declined”. 90% worn implies around 1.5mm remaining, which is the MoT limit, but implies rather less wear than metal on metal. I measured them at around 4mm; all evenly worn an generally healthy. If 90% worn, they must have been 40mm thick originally!
Maybe they have new management in place who put profit before integrity. This is not uncommon when there are financial targets to be met or profit related bonus payments to be earned, but my confidence in Tyre Spot has been damaged beyond repair and if they continue conducting their business in this manner, I doubt they will survive. I feel naively stupid for putting such trust in them, but we are not as stupid as these people choose to believe.
Air conditioning works well.
