Further to my previous review of Swegway UK.
I attended at the store in the Sheffield Forum after my sons hover board developed a fault. I spoke with an individual called Ryan, and he asssured me the item would be repaired within the week. To date I have had no further contact with the company. They have failed to answer several emails and numerous phone calls. I went back to the store and it’s closed down! I have been ripped off to the tune of £300. This was my sons Christmas present from last year!! I’m in the process of logging a complaint with trading standards. Complete con artists. Do not use under any circumstances.
AVOID - Company dishonest in giving refunds
My 11 year old son ordered the board without our knowledge
When we received it we were not happy and retutned it without even taking it out the package. We unsealed the box to look for any paperwork and sealed it back up.
We called the company to arrange collection and refund the price paid. It took three attempts to get the swegway collected.
Few days later after returning the swegway my son received a text to say the order from Swegway will be delivered next day. We called the company to ask why is another one being delivered when clearly we do not want it and want a refund instead. The company said that they have repaired the board as it was damaged and are sending it back, we told them that we sent the board back for a refund and can not understand how they saying it was damaged as we never took it out the box.
We refused to accept delivery and asked the courier to return the package back to sender. I sent ukswegway an email explaining our actions
Ukswegway responded that they Will look into this and resolve this issue
Nearly a month on no response from ukswegway, so I sent another email to ask for an update on the refund on Wednesday 23/08, today is Sunday 27/08 still no response
Avoid this company as it seems their normal trait of saying board is damaged whenever a refund is requested

Received an email stating they will look into the refund request, but £20.00 will be deducted for shipping charges
Update - 16/09
Sent emails on 05/09 and 14/09 requesting progress on refund. The company has not responded.

Got the following reply from RetailADR "I write today notifying you that we have terminated Swegway's membership as they have not responded to us in relation to numerous complaints."

Dangerous swegway
I'm about to expose you for what cheats you are. I have a out of the box faulty and dangerous swegway that I got my son for his birthday a week ago, they wanted to repair it and I told them no as I didn't buy a repaired item I bought a new one and insisted on a replacement or refund, they agreed a replacement I have been waiting almost 3 days for an email I should have got 3 days ago saying when I will receive the replacement, I have had no contact from them since then I even tried calling them, spent 30 mins waiting so hung up called back left voicemail, still nothing, I have told them I will be posting the orig video they asked me to send them showing the fault and I will post more to show how dam right dangerous this is, I have no apology to my son from them from ruining his birthday, I am also going to be uploading all of the messages from there customer service department and there Facebook messenger page, I also have a few personal phone numbers they gave me by mistake which I will also post, you upset my son on his birthday and that is something you don't do to my family it time for everyone affected by this dam right ignorant company to stand up and let everyone else know what mistake they could make from buying from them. Uk swegway is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with.
My 11 yo son bought a board from uk swegway with pocket money and birthday money he had saved.
Firstly the board we ordered online was out of stock which wasn't really a big problem, but it was bought with a 24 hour delivery which turned out to be actually a 5 day delivery.
When the board arrived, I could tell instantly it was cheap rubbish and it seemed to speak in a strange Chinese accent which none of us could understand!
My son used his new board on the carpet for about an hour before it stopped working completely.
We where told on the phone we couldn't have a replacement we would need to send the board back with evidence that it was broken and they would fix it!!!! Not happy with this they did say I could get a full refund, which I opted for.
It took uk swegway 4 WEEKS to pick the board up. Once they had the board back they said the outer case of the board was damaged (it wasn't) and refused to give me a full refund. After a long argument they agreed to refund me £120. The board cost £200. The refund took over a week to clear in my bank.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.
The whole thing has been reported to trading standards. I don't understand how company's like this are allowed to trade. It feels like they are stealing people's money and we are not able to do anything about it.

After one month of use the Swegway stopped working all it done was juddered and didn't work.
So I phoned swagway,paid the £20 to return.
After a week I had a phone call from Elliot Saying the wheel was faulty and it had a little electrical fault but because of the scratches on the board The warranty was invalid. And was asking for £25 to fix the wheel. I said I'm not paying that and asked how do the scratches affect the warranty? Elliot then said he will call me back in 10 minutes, when he phoned me back he said he spoke to the technician and the board was smashed to pieces from accident damage.
we have photos of when we sent the board to them with no damage! He then said it must've been done in transit because of poor packing .
Oh yeah we posted it in the original box with original packaging how was it poor?
Everyone who works for this company Tells Porkies all They do is make excuse after excuse.
Now I have read the reviews and it seems it's not just me with the same problems they say the same excuses to all customers,

Hoverboard originally purchased in December and arrived in perfect time for Christmas.It stopped working April, they arranged for collection after fault could not be diagnosed via troubleshooting.
Rang a few days after it was collected for an update and was told faulty part has been replaced and it is on its way back! Excellent service,thank you

Order my daughter swegway bundle on Friday the 21st of April after speaking to the customer support on Thursday and payed for Saturday delivery which was my daughter birthday it came my 9am by daughter was very happy. The kart that was in the bundle was not pick up for delivery I phoned them up on Monday and arrived Tuesday my 9.30. My daughter is very happy and she said it made your birthday last longer.

VERY BAD AND CUNNING COMPANY. I purchased a hoverboard for my nephew's birthday. Unfortunately the charger stoped working on the very first time, so he wasn't even able to use it for more than a couple of hours. The 'company' are now trying to force me to pay £100 to get it repaired!! I'm taking the legal route now.

What a joke ordered & paid for Hoover board on 24th Jan 2017. Board never arrived they blamed it on the courier !!! However after telling me that they needed 8 weeks to investigate with me sending in excess of 60 emails they still haven't resolved the breech of contract. They claim that the consumer rights act of 2015 does not apply to them !!! They have (up to now) 4 different addresses for there registered house (of which so far 2 don't exists) & refuse to give an address to send official notification of legal action. This company was set up in oct 2015 just as Swegwayuk (same managing director) was dissolved in Nov 15 !!! Um anyone think this is a suspicious ??? Corrupt company taking money & folding company after company with no intention of supplying goods. Mr Mojaba Rahmdel we are going to expose your for the corrupt swindler that you are !!!

They send you faulty items charge you to send them back and then claim the fault is yours (even though the item has never been used) and want to charge you £70 for a new battery.
Customer service is rubbish! the best option is to purchase else where or if you are having issues let trading standards know - also if you have purchased on a credit card put in a section 75 claim!!!

Very poor customer service, battery failed last 40 seconds, as others have posted had to pay £20 to have it collected, they have found the fault but ask for £70 to fix as they say it's been opened. True it was partially open as most of the screws have fell out at some point and to keep it together I have had to replace with some similar ones. they say this invalidates the warranty but have acknowledged verbally that regardless of the reason for the opening it had no affect or impact on the battery failings it is just a dud battery.
To still demand money for what they acknowledge is a faulty part is just the actions of a shoddy company hiding behind technicalities. They are aware I'm involving trading standards, honestly don't think is a company that cares too much about that asI can see I may be in a long queue to discuss their performance.
There is no security sticker at the join of these boards that would tear if the board is taken apart it's just your word against theirs. I suspect this is just one of their many get out excuses.

Staff in shop are great. Customers services are shocking still waiting for a reply from 3 weeks ago. Waited 4 weeks for a repair to the board. No communication from repair center are online customer services. Had to ring the shop direct. Even staff requested for customer services to get in contact. Still haven't.

£25 Next Day Delivery Service ???
I rang up the company to guarantee next day delivery (for my daughters birthday) which the charged me £25 for which is to expensive in it's self..... I had the dispatch email etc all come through great.
So come the next day I have another email saying your parcel is not being delivered today contact the sender...
SO... I ring up this firm and after putting me on hold for 7minutes he come on the phone and said sorry you placed the order after 11 so this is not possible for next day.
No mate I rang you up at 12.10 yesterday and you reassured me it would be delivered today I even have the dispatch email.
He said well I can get it to you tomorrow I was like well I'm not paying this £25 cause I have not received it today !!!
He said we will partially refund the shipping costs.. I was like hmmmmm....
Anyway I get off the phone a little angry then I have another dispatch email and another email saying we can't refund the £25 because you have had Saturday delivery, so I thought forget this, I ring them back up which they never answered twice so I blocked my number the 3rd time and what a shock they answer the phone !!! I went mental saying cancel my order your taking the Micky.
He said its already been dispatched I said well best ring the courier service avd call it back in as I won't sign for it tomorrow... he said that's fine we will recieve it back and refund the swegway but not the £25 !!!
At this point I was FUMING....
I said can you charge me £25 for next day delivery and not recieve it the next day ??? You got 2 choices pal..... either refund me that delivery charge or I'm going to trading standards.... I argued and argued then he put me on hold .... another 5 minutes goes by then he come back on the phone agreeing to refund the delivery cost. Which was 2 days ago and I still have not recieved the refund on my card. This company is a joke. AVOID.

Excellent customer service and product
Bought a swegway for my 10yr old daughter a few weeks ago for her birthday. It arrived after 3 days so far we have had no problems with the swegway at all and I hope that continues as my daughter is over the moon with her present!

I wanted to give zero stars for UKSWEGWAY, the customer service is absolutely disgraceful. My son saved all his xmas money and birthday money to buy the swegway 2 weeks ago. I have been on the phone to them nearly every day trying to firstly find out what was wrong with the swegway and then latterly trying to get them to arrange collection. After two dates which the courier failed to pick it up I called again to be told I had to pay UKSWEGWAY another £20 for it to be collected, after initially agreeing with their customer service advisor that I wouldn't have to pay this fee. He said he got it wrong and I would have to pay it! Then and only then was I advised that I may or may not get this back... I have spoken to numerous customer service agents and one doesn't know what the other is doing. When I asked for a manager/owner name and number i was refused this information also. I too will be contacting watchdog and anyone else who will listen. I am disgusted at the treatment by the company.
