The experience working with Union Technical was brilliant, the amount of organisation work that goes into a project involving the ECO4 is a lot and this team performed.
Some issues but to be expected with a project of this size hence the four stars but don't let that put you off, a great team who were happy to help.

Absolutely terrible company to deal. Made an appointment for the survey, cleared all cupboards and areas as. They never showed up or answered the phone or got in touch. Second time they sent a "Surveyor" who wasted my time. I gave him the CAD drawing for the house, but he insisted he had to measure up, then took socket fronts off and light switches, to check the insulation. He stayed in the bathroom for about an 40 minutes, Viewing the boiler! Over a month later still no communication and guess what not answering the phone. Obviously cherry picking the jobs they want and just wasting peoples time.

Communication has been very good. As we are at the beginning of work to be done, we can't comment until work has been completed.
All staff we have dealt with has been great and helpful.
I would recommend Union Technical at this stage.

Applied April 25 ,filled form, then they asked for P60.I told them I am not working or paying tax so no P60. No more communication and all went quiet, then weeks went past (I Assumed every thing ok)then they asked again for P60 again.I had to reapply for funding again. Now we are in June 25 when a surveyor arrived.Phone call in July, coming to fit solar. No confirmation E-mail and of cource no show.Customer service says no record of appointment??? So asked for new booking, and someone said could be a few weeks, shortage of QUALFIED STAFF.You could not make this up.

Fairs fair! I think me and Union got off to a bad start but I will leave honest reviews of each step of the work. The solar panels are now fitted and the electrician hooked it all up yesterday. The electrician was a gentleman and top bloke. His work was immaculate!
Played about with the solar panels and smart meter today and my tenant is going to save a fortune! Need to change a few habits but nothing life changing.
Very very happy! Tidy work! Quickly done and saving money as soon as the electrician walked out the door.
Well! What can I say? From our initial contact with Union Technical , which was informative and easy going through to where we are today. A transformed home fit for the 21st century. I was sceptical about all of the claims about the whole concept of exceptional insulation (most of which is Room in Roof) and draught proofing the home. This was completed in 5 working days by a team of 2 joiners. During this phase an electrician attended to “move” sockets, switches and lights. The decorators finished the walls and ceiling and painted with 2 coats of emulsion. Starting to look more like a home again! Next stage was the installation of the solar panels and associated electrical equipment. All up and working within a day of starting! The house was then swamped with a crew of heating technicians and electricians to install the Air Source Heat Pump and Water tank along with all new pipework and high efficiency radiators. When the whole project was completed we were talked through the controls and principles of operation. All paperwork including manuals, certifications, and warranties were posted to us, so we now have a complete home heating file complete with everything needed. Amazing absolutely fantastic job completed by a highly efficient team from office to craftsmen. This is how service should be. Since installation we have had new carpets put down and I can say the whole house now feels cosy and fit to move forward into the future. Thanks to everyone involved.

The assessor was here for over 3 hours, very little info or explanation from him when I asked questions. A few weeks later we were told he couldn’t gain access as we locked him out- but he shut the front door on himself and the Glasgow office rang me to let him back in!
You call them and they never call back as they promise. Yet are still saying he couldn’t gain access- blatant lie and I have witnesses that he was here as my neighbour saw him in our house!
I would not trust this company to pull my house apart to put central heating in- with thier assessor said would take half a day- what planet is he on.
We had a lucky escape…
Both representatives have been punctual. They both were polite, tidy, well presented. They explained the reasons for the visits and answered any questions I had.

Complete system worked for 11 weeks, out of a total of 42 weeks. From what I gather, Union Technical buy the system from the manufacture, and supply/fit for customer. After this major failure, UT are replacing the complete battery inverter system, and as a gesture of goodwill, adding an extra battery to the system. Credit where credit is due, and as such, I am happy to award them 5 stars. We got there in the end. 8/8/25

The ASHP installation team worked really hard and long day 10 out of 10. however they could have taken more care with my lino. I rolled it up and they flattened it. it is now ruined. The electrician that wired in my solar panels was slapdash, if I has employed him I would not have paid him. the team that fitted my solar panels were a great team. Ashlin on customer service was fantastic, she got my problems dealt with very quickly and communication with her was great. Whatever you are paying her..... it is not enough

Communication is very poor sometimes took more than a week to get some replies.
Took about 10 months from survey to get going.
Didn't seem to have a clue how planning permission worked for a listed building and at one point tried to proceed without it.
Even after I personally went to to cost of getting planning permission and all the expenses and hassle of that they did not fully follow the conditions set out.Fingers crossed this will not have future issues.
Some of the contractors were fantastic and some well not so good.
At least after all the hassle the system works well and we are quite pleased with it.
I guess you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs.
Over all it probably took most of a year from surveyor to completion.

Job took 5 months to complete wanting someone from company to come and see the work as not at all satisfied. Not taken any of phone calls or correspondence seriously questions raised and got stupid replies.
They were tidy did a reasonable Job had to phone several times to get a problem with water hammer sorted if it wasnt for that I would have given them 5 stars

Men worked hard and always were pleasant. They did so much work and never complained about anything love my new heating the house is lovely now but the real test will be the winters up here which can be terrible.
