A genuine soft sales approach. I had a very laid back and relaxed chat with Dean and he sent me a quote with a variety of options. I had 15 panels , a car charger , 3 batteries installed. Good comms on a shortage for the Islanding option - that will be done Feb. No money upfront it was paid after the job was done. Team worked hard all day and got everything installed - mess removed and units running on the App. Very pleased and happy to recommend. A genuine good installer.

Extremely good from start to finish, the scaffolder fitters were very professional, the fiiters were excellent even on the coldest of days. Fitted well, no mess, all boxes and waste removed. Would highly recommend.

Excellent prompt clean job done by polite knowledgeable workers. Office support also good

Overall I think this is a good company (in an industry that that is probably unusual) and I have recommended to friends.
A number of my neighbours have used as well.
I think their terms of trade are excellent. Like the ring-fencing of client money and I didn't need to pay anything before installation. They chased quickly for payment which is fair enough.
I had a 16 solar panel system fitted with 3 x 2.5kw batteries and am very pleased with it.
The office are very responsive.
Minor gripe is that the installation team need to be a bit more customer oriented. Should have coverings for carpets that they are walking over in outside boots and left debris (screws, wire, fixings etc) around the roof - only took me 10 minutes to clear but shouldn't need to. Hope that is constructive feedback for improvement.
Anyway, overall a good company who care about the service they provide.

Like a previous review, I have mixed feelings. Somethings went well and others require some work by the company.
The initial contact, explanation of the AHP, installation etc., was really quite good. With arranging a start date the company was very flexible and fitted to my needs. I kept moving the install date, due to the building works that were ongoing.
My property is a building site with many renovations taking place, so I sent 3 different contacts (sales/admin/survey engineer) the new the floor plans, in the hope that it would make their job easier. These plans were not sent on to the installation engineers. When I arrived at the site, they were already well ahead in the work to be done. All was rather jolly and I gave the chap in charge a copy of the floor plans he'd never seen. This was necessary because their work impacted my renovation work.
The whole 2 day process went ok, no great issues or problems. I was shown the simple controls, nothing complicated and the system was work merrily along. Until the full hand over and inspection.
The control box had been installed on a wall that was going to be moved, as shown in the floor plans. If I had been asked where the control box would be better placed the issue would not have occurred. An engineer had to come back a separate day to move it. This last work was all completely efficiently, but was unnecessary work which could have easily been fixed in the first place. There's an obvious communication issue within the company.
All the new pipework was put in the loft and downstairs pipes rerouted, except a I have a rather strange piece of plumbing in the loft and in the airing cupboard. The install engineer really didn't think what he was doing. One piece looks quite mad!!! This plumbing will need further work in the future as it in the way. They did leave me some radiator refill liquid as the whole heating system will need draining to redo the pipework.
I was told the gas would be capped. It was, but only at the pipe to the boiler. It was implied at sales level that the gas would be capped at the meter and the meter ready for removal.
The whole system works nicely, no complaints, it does what it says on the tin!!!

I have changed this review to 4 stars, not 5 as requested by the installer. Yes, you did work with me on changing install dates, which is what anyone should expect, as this is mainly administration and I gave plenty of forewarning to change dates, to allow plenty of time to for the company to rearrange their install engineers. The point I am making for any new customers, keep on top of all aspects of the project, making sure you are on site at all times. I was unfortunately distracted with the actual installation as my father in law was being buried at the same time, unfortunate timing in the end.

I am left with mixed feelings after installation.
The installation went quick and as agreed, everything was fine. Until they handled the job over and informed us that we are not getting batteries, as the is a shortage. 15 minutes after the installer team left , the woman from office called and demanded payment " preferably this afternoon", when i mentioned missing batteries, she said we can hold to the cost of the batteries until they installed, but the rest must be paid asap. The was no informing us that we are not getting batteries, no approximate dates for actually delivery/installation them.
I was assured that we are getting them asap, but here were are, 2 month later, batteries are still not installed.
With the cost of installation we were counting on saving on energy bill, but we can't really do this currently to the full extend: we use most energy on evenings/afternoons, taking from the grid instead of using our accumulated.
I will bump the rate and update review once the situation changed

Update: The batteries were installed, they get in touch with me straight away after they received it and installation went on agreed date, everything was perfect.
The lady I mentioned before contacted me a few days later asking if I'm happy with installation.I was happy and paid the outstanding sum straight away.

Overall I am happy with Use The Sun and would recommend them to anyone who wants a job done.
I'm leaving the first bit of review on purpose, I want to show that they do keep their promises and learn from mistakes. If I'd ever need something else done I'd definitely contact them again.

Have you ever come across double glazing salesmen in the 80's & 90's?
This is what you will experience with Use the Sun.
Don't bother if you looking for solar, all they want to do is get you to buy an air source heat pump.
1.5 hours of my life I will never get back.

Update, my review is totally accurate, honest and fair. If the company does not like poor reviews, then do something about it rather than blaming the customer.

Use The Sun have within the last week installed a 12 solar panel 2 battery system to my property. The quality of the workmanship was second to none, the installers kept me informed during every process of the installation, fully explained how the system and smart App worked and cleaned up and removed ALL the rubbish after them. My only concern was that the scaffolding that had been erected would not be removed after the installation was complete, but to my amazement the scaffolding guys turned up just as the installers were tidying up! I cannot recommend Use The Sun enough as it was a thoroughly worry free experience for us from day one. Well done and thak you to everyone concerned

It is obvious to all the need of renewable energy and being warned by our energy company to two increases in cost - April and October - money siting in the bank gets 1.5 % and loses value yearly, we decided to go for solar panels.

“Use the Sun” are near to us (Romford) and apart from a minor problem of communication, they proved efficient and very helpful. Sales appeared promptly. The Surveyor drove all the way from Suffolk to make sure he got here asap. He actually listened to what we had to say and adjusted his plan for roof solar panels accordingly.

Scaffold up efficiently after the very minor mix-up - back and front of the house so a little more expensive, but maximum exposure - to the Sun that is!

The Fitters were very good and very helpful - the each take two sugars in their coffee. Explained all very well. The installation was completed within the day.

Silly me! I should have agreed to batteries. After a day of good sunshine I contacted “Use the Sun” and asked them to fit batteries - they were advised on the original quotation. within 24 hours the fitters returned and installed 3 batteries - all done in about an hour.

Overall, “Use the Sun” were efficient, on time and most helpful. Our panels are working well just in time for the April increase. Save the planet and your cash, the banks give us very little, but money off the energy bill is a “No Brainer.

I would recommend “Use the Sun” as a 5* outfit.

We had fitment of heat pump and associated cylinders outside our property. All departments were excellent, Les the sales representative was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with, Andy the specialist had some excellent ideas to help us site the equipment in a very awkward area, the install team worked extremely hard and completed the work in 2 days as promised, neat and tidy and very respectful. The admin team are also great to deal with, very responsive and understanding. All in all Use The Sun are a fantastic company to deal with, thanks so much for everything.

Moved house just before Christmas into a house heated only by 2 night storage heaters and an old log burner. Got in touch with Use the sun, they talked me through the process and costs, they managed to get me heating by 20th January. It was installed with complete wet system and 8 radiators over 4 days. Nice workmen with good knowledge of system.

Wow so pleased in the way I have been looked after from the first moment of contact with this company. I had a green homes voucher which came with complications which use the sun helped me through it. The girls in the office always phoned back and replied to my many emails to the point they knew my voice. Then came installation and what a credit them guys are to the company. All pipe work very neat and tidy all put in with no problem went through everything with me. Unlike a lot of companies now a days they took all the rubbish away with them

I have nothing but praise for this company. Their customer service is excellent. They respond promptly to any questions, no matter how trivial, and are always extremely helpful. Andy and the rest of the installation team that fitted our air source heat pump were all very friendly and efficient. They were courteous and took time to explain things. At all times, I felt as if I was in safe hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Use the Sun.

Ordering an Air Source Heat Pump system, I had specifically requested a tank that would go into the loft through a very narrow access and this resulted in two cancelled installation appointments. That aside the installation team were very polite, neat and tidy and I felt they did an excellent job of work and were very sympathetic to our property and decor. All installed over two days. There was the need for a return visit to fit heat monitoring equipment and a meter which was done by a different engineer. This guy couldn't be more helpful and after carrying out his work walked me through the system and how best to use it all. My one and only criticism has to be that the admin team in the office do not communicate and assurances to call were not followed up, hence my rating of Very Good rather than Excellent. Despite that I would recommend Use The Sun Ltd to friends, in fact I already have.

New ASHP installed over 2 days. Very good install team, informative and working collaboratively to achieve a timely installation.
I had a requirement for minor variations (install of radiators) and the team were vary accommodating.
Admin section of the company is unbelievably responsive to enquiries and very helpful.

Keep breaking appointments, staff either gone off sick or been called out in an emergency!!!!
Same delay in getting someone to attend but eventually James the engineer came, put everything right and was very professional and courteous. Let’s hope this is the end of our need to call someone out.

I had air to air units installed in my home by Use The Sun and the price and quality was very good. I now use them on all my projects. A brilliant company.

This is the third time I have used Use the Sun. Previously they installed Solar Panels, a Tesla battery & now an Air Source Heat Pump. On each occasion they have offered friendly, polite, knowledgeable & efficient operatives & that is very important when they are in your house for a few days. The quality of work & product supplied has been first class & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you use this company if you are planning these types of install. As well as this the aftersales service & advice is excellent. Three jobs well done, I'm a pretty happy guy.
