confirmed our appointment the day before and arrived on time as agreed. Instantly likeable and able to explain all about the system and the financial implications/ benefits that it offered. He was polite and totally open , never pushy or pressurising. If a reflection of the company then one I would be more than happy to deal with if our circumstances were to change. Recommended in my brief experience.

great show........

Can honestly say that my system is better than I could have hoped for. The installation was straight forward and the guys were tidy and very polite. It’s nice to find a company that does what it says it would do, top marks to them and thank you.

Very pleased from Scotland

Very pleased. I have used Use The Sun twice over the last couple of years in different houses, each time I've been very pleased with the whole service; survey, pricing, installation and after sales service. Each time I've had a noticeable improvement on previous heating systems.
I got solar PV and ASHP installed on both occasions, including extra radiators.
The install teams have been good and always on time and cleaned up each day.
Both my systems have qualified for government funding and the RHI programme and the new FIT programme.
As energy prices aren't going down this is a no brainer and Use The Sun deliver a quality service. I totally recommend them.

Qualified architect continues to use UtS

I'm a qualified architect and I continue to use Use the Sun Ltd as my go to renewable energy consultants and installers for photovoltaic PV's and air source heat pumps. I always recommend them to my clients as they continue to offer a good service at competitive rates.

Their advisor failed to turn up to the…

Their advisor failed to turn up to the initial appointment. On telephoning their office to complain they got the advisor to ring me back.He claimed to have phoned the day before but no effort was made to phone on the land line or text which I would have picked up. He was unapologetic and rude which I found unacceptable and ended the call. I had taken time off work and prepared the information requested in a confirmation letter recieved a few days previously. A complete waste of my time! My philosophy is never make promises you cannot keep. Don't waste your time with this company.

I’ve been more then impressed with this…

I’ve been more then impressed with this company, they were very professional I. Their advise and then during the installation process the fitters were very clean and tidy and the admin girl was more than happy to help me fill out the forms.
Couldent recommend more!!!!

I have had nothing but lies from this…

I have had nothing but lies from this company from the very beginning. I was told it would be no cost to me. My energy bills would not go up, my electricity bill has virtually doubled. The government would send me money each quarter that would cover the cost of the £11750.00 loan, I am approx. £70 per month worse off as this does not cover the loan repayments. I was told it would be serviced every year for 7 years, Now I have been told it would cost me £120, for a service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

you say your electricity bill has double that is because an ASHP works on Electricity, but you do not mention the huge saving you are making on your other energy costs now that you don't have the alternate energy costs that fuelled your old boiler. It is hard to make comparisons when only the bad side is put forward
The RHI is calculated in advance using software that we purchase and that is regularly checked and agreed by the authorities.
We have combed the paperwork for this 7 year service deal and have found no mention. It is not something we offer to any client so I am afraid we cannot offer it
I apologise for taking so long to respond, I am going to be more on top of the feedbacks in future
We have not heard from you for a while so I assume that you have now reconciled the savings from other energy supplies with the extra electricity cost and you are in receipt of the RHI but mainly because your system is producing heat as it should

Utterly appalling service

Utterly appalling service, followed up by utterly appalling after service (haha, I shudder to use the word) 'support'. I guess they only survive as a business by preying on the gullible. PLEASE don't be taken in by them, PLEASE go elsewhere. I'd hate to think of anyone going through the ordeal I'm now suffering as a result of my falling for their half-truths. They fitted a totally inadequate service for me, then when it failed they blame my pipes - which they'd have been fully aware of BEFORE they installed the system based on the force with which they suddenly started using them as their excuse AFTER the system failed me totally. What a waste of £11,000!

We were established in 2009 we have completed over 1,100 installations. If what you say is true then we would have gone bust and reincorporated a few times by now.

I apologise if we missed the issue with the pipes at survey, happens, but we have made your system work and we have not tried to "blame your pipes" in order to increase the price. As always we installed for the price we quoted even when the cost increases due to foreseeable or unforeseeable events

Was always surprised by this score. Sometimes our systems are more expensive to run or simply won't work. rather than persuade a customer to accept this we explain and walk away. Most times the customers are grateful that we work this way
Anyway technology has come on leaps and bounds since then so if you fancy us taking another run at your house and seeing if the new equipment will work please give us a call

Terrible company to deal witb

Terrible company to deal witb. Their customer services after they've installed a system and you've paid for it is practically non existent. They never return calls. You have to chase them constantly to get anywhere and even have to threaten court action to get anything done. I've had a very bad experience with these people, so would recommend you do not use them.

I approached them through Ideal home…

I approached them through Ideal home show. And they managed to do the initial visit followed by a technical inspection. Its been over 2 weeks and I am chasing them and have had no responses from them. Finally after my 4th call I was told that my pipes are too narrow in the property and its not feasible. I further asked them if i change them how much will it cost and still no replies spoke to the manager as well as admin staff. They told me that i have micro ball pipes while i dont have them I have flexible pipes Pretty disappointed with the unprofessional approach :( . Avoid as much as possible

Rather than 1 star I would have thought you would give us 5 stars because we refused to pressurise you in to buy an system which would not work

Having said that technology has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years and, with the current voucher scheme, if you would like to reconsider we would love to come out and see you again

The initial impression was good

The initial impression was good, but they consider this sales chat as the firm and final contract. It's impossible to agree on anything before a survey and final plan, but without signing anything they try to rush the installation. They refuse to provide any written information or contract, and insist on meeting up or discussing over the phone to save time instead. I asked 7 times. All I got was a business card which has no name. After cancelling it I finally received 3 pieces of unsigned paperwork. I wonder if anyone would be happy to get into a debt of £15k like this. It probably would've been ok 100 years ago. It's just shocking.

You were given the full contract at our first meeting, that is what your could have signed.
The sales team are asked to limit their visits to 1 hour, our regulators rules say a maximum of 1 1/2 hours (to avoid pushy sales tactics).

A full survey takes 1/2 a day to complete in the home and another 1/2 day to upload and get the results. Until this is done we cannot agree on anything as we don't know what WE are agreeing too either

Once the survey is done and the grants calculated according to the rules we will then come back, as was explained, with a Variation of Contract which has all the information we were unable to provide you with before we did our work

The contract will not go ahead until the VOC has been signed and the 2 week cooling off period has passed (unless you are in a hurry and sign a waiver). Sometimes the calculations make the installation unviable. But we can't know until the survey is done, Then the VOC does not get signed and we all go our own way

You appear to be upset because we wanted to do our job properly whilst you wanted us to give you information we could not possibly know in advance of our investigations.
