I live in brownstone Brooklyn and am…

I live in brownstone Brooklyn and am need of various Victorian hardware products and similar items. Van Dyke's was my goto vendor as it seemed to have just about everything. As of late, however, the product line seems to have been severely curtailed and there are very few items that match those that I need. Rather than make do with not so close substitutes, I've been going elsewhere for my products.

I ordered a medicine cabinet online

I ordered a medicine cabinet online. They sent me a used cabinet. I called them and they told me they had discontinued the product. I guess i get what was left. They agreed to give me a full refund. No hard feelings.

Best Selection, Best Quality

The items I purchased were exactly what I was expecting. I always go to Van Dykes for the anything I need for a dyi project. Great selection, unusual items. When we built our home 27 years ago, Van Dykes is where we went. We purchased beautiful brass return vent covers for our formal rooms. So much better than the standard louvered metal ones that builders use. You cannot go wrong with them. My only irritant is that their shipping seems to take so long, but in the end it is always worth the wait.

Terrible Customer Service!!

In my initial attempt to order a product I was on hold for 45 minutes and ultimately hung up. My second attempt, I was on hold for 35 minutes. I finally got a hold of a representative and ordered a product in "SATIN" nickel. The product arrived in "SHINY" nickel. I called back and waited 30 minutes to talk to someone. When I did they told me that the Satin Nickel is actually Shiny Nickel though it clearly says on your web site "SATIN NICKEL". When I pointed that out to your representative that there is a world of difference between "Nickel" and "Shiny", she told me that is the way it is. Period. I then received the invoice which contained sales tax. I attempted three calls and multiple wait times to your people to clear that up as we are a wholesale customer. My experience was a disaster!!

Disappointed

Disappointed. Products were fine, but my repeated requests to be unsubscribed are being ignored. Every piece of spam I get from this company, the less likely I am to order anything else.

I expected my product in 7-10 business…

I expected my product in 7-10 business days as advertised on the order and received it on the 16th day. Missed my window for construction and couldn't use the product I ordered and they wouldn't take it back. What a waste of time, effort, and money.

Always have what I need!

It's a real pleasure to purchase from Van Dykes. They offer many unusual or "hard to get" hardware and they somehow keep the price reasonable. I also like the follow up phone call to make sure I'm pleased with the purchase. This is a company that takes care of it's customers.

Great

Great, high-quality product. I ordered a number of hinges (16) for our garage doors, and received all but 3. It was very frustrating waiting several months to finally get the missing parts. Apparently they had run out of stock, and we had to wait for shipment from India.

I have used Van Dykes for many years...

I have used Van Dykes for many years. I also have recommended and given many brochures to friends. The quality of their products is excellent. I am always amazed at the selection of their merchandise.
