Its a pity I have to give them 1 star

Its a pity I have to give them 1 star, they're worth far less than that! Typical scam - you make a simple enquiry for 50p then find you've subscribed to some pointless rubbish for the rest of your life at the rate of £7.85 per month. Just wasted £47 but fortunately managed to cancel via the bank. Just hope I can unsubscribe to this crap....

Outrageous

Outrageous. I paid my car tax and since then have received 4 monthly debits taken from my account from vehicleinquiry.co.uk which show on my account as vehicleeinquiry.uk
Initially they took 0.50 and then monthly payments of £7.85. I called Barclays who can stop the direct debit but they advised initially I needed to dispute with the company directly and ask them to refund me.
I cancelled my membership on their website and called 03330153328 which took me to a call centre with bad background noise. The call centre ‘advisor’ told me I had signed up to a membership with them. I had to push for a refund which she advised would take 7-10 working days. She then hung up on me when I queried why the money had been taken without me agreeing to a membership subscription. I called back several times- it wouldn’t connect and then when I reached someone at ‘customer service’ they said they couldn’t hear me and hung up. I have received an an email confirming I’d receive a refund within 3-4 working days. Will I receive it?!
A definite scam. Not a legitimate company. Do not sign up for any ‘membership’ to do with car tax even if it seems linked to the DVLA / government websites

Diverted me from DVLA website without my knowledge or authorisation. Took fifty pence from my account and the following day £7.85. This came up on my bank statement as a recurring payment. My bank have stopped it and cancelled my card. This company are committing fraud. Please people check your statements regularly. The bank will give you advice on how to notice if you have been diverted and what to do.

Since I did not have the log book for…

Since I did not have the log book for the car that I just bought , I was applying for road tax and went through the process of verifying the payment. At no point was there any indication that I was signing up for some subscription service from a scam company. After a few days, I checked and the car was not taxed. Checked the credit card statement and saw a 50p charge followed by £7.84 the next day.

I would not trust this company that takes payment details whilst one believes they are paying DVLA.

Scammers! £8 will not break my bank account but if I had not noticed it, this payment would be recurring for months.

Agreed absolute fraud

Agreed absolute fraud. To cancel go into the website, look for cancel subscription and cancel. You will receive and email with a tempting offer to reduce the monthly payment to £1.00! Don't be tempted. I too have reported as a scam to my bank.

Like many others here, I’m was being charged monthly by these fraudsters posting as the DVLA, I rang DVLA and they explained, did my own research and do now look back on how I spoke to the advisor.
And to my understanding;
-it’s an illegitimate company paying for adverts to be on top
-it is nothing to do with DVLA so don’t expect anything from them
-go to the fraudsters website, click ‘contact us’>’more options’’>’cancel membership’ from the drop down list

After doing some investigating they even hide a statement that says this doesn’t cover road tax, and to pay for tax you need to contact DVLA 🤦🏽‍♂️
Contact your bank and they can’t get that money back for you, as they did for me thankfully !
Hope this helps
