DISHONEST GARAGE - Supposedly changed my Air Filter - Pollen Filter - Fuel filter -Oil Filter + Oil service - had them checked straight after the service and the old parts are still in there! Absolute disgrace trusted them with mt £100,000 SVR and they have just absolutely blagged me.

I am really trying to be constructive and fair with this review. Please read this true experience and make your own decision. I booked my wife’s Velar in Vertu Bolton dealership as the car had fault lights illuminated on the dash board. This dealership service departments opening words were; -” There is a charge of £195 plus VAT to diagnose the fault”. WHICH I THOUGHT WAS UNFAIR WHEN IT IS THEN FOLLOWED BY THEIR HOURLY LABOUR RATE AND ANY REQUIRED PARTS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN REQUIRED. As the exact same vehicle had just been serviced only weeks before by this exact same dealer and having only covered less than 1K miles since and as part of that service I had a completely free of charge health check with video confirming nothing wrong with the car. So, I talked to the assistant service manager a nice lady who waived the diagnostic charge under those circumstances and I duly booked the car in which was dropped at Vetru in Bolton the evening before its appointment on the 25/04/2023 to facilitate an early start on today Wednesday 26/04/2023. At 15.17 pm today Vertu telephoned me asking me to pay their diagnostic fee, saying the faults were still on the car and I should re book it in with them at a later date. I explain that their fee had been waived by their assistant service manager but I required the car faults rectified. I asked them when the car was taken in the workshop and was told about an hour earlier and was being worked on and they would ring me back. To be clear Vertu service department had rung me asking for payment but had not rectified or diagnosed any faults on my wife's car. VERY STRANGE YOU MIGHT THINK? But as I had been monitoring my wife’s car all of the day on the “LAND ROVER IN CONTROL REAL TIME TRACKER APP” which crystal clearly confirms that my wife’s car had never moved and was in the exact same spot Vetru had parked it the evening before, the bonnet or windows had never been opened or the cars ignition had never been turned on at all. However, like magic at 16.12 pm today the car started was moved into the workshop the bonnet and both front windows were opened. A Vertu technician then telephoned me and he admitted that he had only just been given the job and it was the first time he had touch the car, he went on saying that he would require at least a further hour labour to diagnose the faults. I left my work in Blackpool and was driven to Vertus showroom in Bolton where I asked to see the assistant service manager and also the Dealer Principal to vent my concerns and make a complaint as this was instantly becoming louder and louder a man called Lee who claimed to be the Dealer Principal shuffled us all off to a side office. The purported Dealer Principal was in fact the head of business and was smug with a very bad attituded which I told him to his face, but he felt that he was the boss, only wanted the facts and was only interested in making money. He was of the opinion that I wanted my wife’s car repaired for free and he was just not doing it. I would not call this man’s customer service skills as he was uneducated and had none whatsoever. I was always glad to pay to have the faults rectified but was not going to be charged over £200.00 for nothing whatsoever my wife car had not been touched and his staff were ringing for money when the fault was not diagnosed! This steam roller attack by this man was solely in my opinion because Vertu Bolton had been caught with their hands in the till or in this case my pocket and is what this was really all about. The man said the Land Rover App was not real time. I am sorry Mr head of business Land Rover have confirmed to me tonight in writing that their TRACKER APP IS REAL TIME! So that one does not work. He also went on to withdraw the wavier of Vertus diagnostic charge made to me by their assistant service manager (the poor lady was in the room so I hope she is aware of the business Manager undermining her in front of a customer). I admit that language was used by me and things were becoming very heated I also concede that I was also very rude. This resulted in the man asking me to leave Vertus Dealership. I left the side office and requested my wife’s car and key and was waiting for the car and talking very loud to my driver with other customers listing to my every word. The head of business came bouncing out of the side office like a flyweight boxer demanding I leave fortunately he could not throw anyone out of a bag so I waited in the showroom for my wife’s car and keys to be brought out-front and once such was parked outside, I left in my wife’s undiagnosed car with its illuminated fault lights. THE FINISH OF THE STORY IS when Vertu Bolton Dealership are CAUGHT CHEATING CUSTOMERS BY LANDROVER IN CONTROL APP. THEN PLEASE JUST ADMITT IT AS YOUR TECHNICIAN DID! THINK HARD BEFORE YOU BECOME THE NEXT VICTIM.

Where to start?
We took our 20 plate SVR in for a service in Feb/March 2023 but just before it went in, it started with a misfire.
JLR phoned us to say it was £900 just to look at it (😂), and that it would cost nearly £6000 to fix as it was not covered on the warranty. After my partner going in on numerous occasions as they never rang him back or answered the phone, we eventually came to an agreement that the cats were under warranty and were "fixed", as apparently this was what was causing the misfire.
Low and behold, the car still had the misfire and went back in to be fixed again.
A day later, the car was back, it sounded okay for a day or 2, so we drove it to Wales and low and behold, the thing completely broke down in Wales. Thank god for land rover assist.
We went in to pick up the car and whilst waiting we were approached to fill in the survey email asking for 10 stars 😂... Laughable.
Any way 3rd time lucky, we got it back again, we drove it away and as we got closer to home, we noticed a massive whooshing sound when you accelerate, so now the misfire had gone but it seems potentially a fan was faulty. The car became sluggish and unresponsive.
Meanwhile, whilst it was in the garage for the second time, we also received a speeding ticket from when Vertu JLR had the car doing 57mph in a 50mph zone. Apparently they have sorted this, I'm not holding any hope.
Anyhow in the midst of all this, my partner thought it was a good idea to buy a new Defender from Vertu JLR Bolton, God only knows why but there you go. As he went to pick it up, he noticed the seat did not sit up correctly and would only go part way, they then booked it in there and then before he drove it away from the forecourt. He then took the car in on said date and said he would wait around for the car... For them only to approach him hours later to say its faulty and needs to be booked in 🤔 meaning yet ANOTHER trip, what was the point in even taking it in that day, they had already advised it was faulty.
Anyhow fast-forward 2 weeks and both cars have gone back in today (another fiasco), only the SVR was supposed to be booked in but somehow they've booked both in.
We've ended up with 1 courtesy car between us both which I've paid £19.99 for for some bizarre reason. There are 2 cars in the garage there, why do we have one courtesy car?! We also have two dogs which come to Wales with us every weekend, where do you expect us to put them if they aren't allowed in courtesy cars and you have both of our cars? Plus the car we've been given (an Evoke) is half the size of both the SVR and the Defender 🤦🏻♀️
The amount of phone calls where no one has called my partner back is unreal, the amount of times we've been back and forth costing fuel money as it is a 35-40 minute journey from our home, the time taken off work, has all added up.
And Vertu JLR are fully aware we want to buy the new Range Rover Vogue from them plus a Defender for my mother and father in law and yet this is how we get treated?!
I'd just like to mention, Beth has been really good, she has tried to sort issues where she can. It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review especially as some of the team are lovely and the place itself is immaculate but this is a joke.
I'm worried what issues this SVR is going to come out with next and how long they are going to have both cars for, leaving us with 1 courtesy car between 2 of us.
Kind Regards,
One fed up land rover owner

I initially ordered a disco sport in august 2021, I paid a £1000 deposit and was told delivery could be as late as March 2022 but more likely Christmas 2021. Within three weeks of paying the deposit I received a letter advising the car was delayed and would be up to 12 months. I am still waiting 20 months later and vertu bolton have not contacted me once to update me on progress or otherwise. I recently placed a negative review on another website and they eventually contacted me to advise price guarantee no longer applied, finance deal had expired and was now 8.9% compared with initial 4.9% and still no delivery date. Customer care at Vertu Bolton is non existant- please avoid and use alternative dealerships.

Bought a car from this dealer and it was damaged when I arrived at dealership (distance sale). Unfortunately I sent money and signed the paperwork before I saw the vehicle but when I got to the dealer eventually the car was not up to scratch for a £100k+ vehicle.
I made a complaint and most of the requests were ignored by the poor team at Land Rover Bolton. I resorted to rejecting the car under my 14 day consumer law rights - distance selling, however they refuse to accept it was a distance sale. I have shown them the law, ombudsman website and case studies to help them comprehend what is pretty much basic, I have video proof to show timings of my arrival after the transaction was concluded and recorded phone calls from the beginning of this transaction to the end, however they have now started ignoring me (typical).
I have reported this to the ombudsman which will take some time to respond, in the mean time I will be purposely keeping the car until they either accept the rejection or the ombudsman decide in my favour and force them to take the vehicle back. I have also reported them to trading standards and I am now in contact with a couple of media outlets who are keen to publish a story on Land Rover Bolton’s dodgy dealings with me to help others not make the same mistake. I have also appointed a solicitor to deal with the case on my behalf. They will be taking this car back at some point, doesn’t matter if it will take 6 months.
Moral of the story is, do not buy a car from Land Rover bolton and avoid Vertu motors as a whole, buy from a more reputable branch. Their 3* average rating tells you all you need to know when there are dealers above 4.6* who will serve you much better and not break the law.

After four months and four visits I still do not have a vehicle working correctly. Original visit was deemed to be an oil pump, failed and fixed under warranty, on the next two occasions within minutes of leaving their premises I had warning lights for the engine showing on the dashboard. I was left with a vehicle with rough idling and reduced compression - This may be a concidence after the timing chain was removed to replace the water pump but these issues were not present prior to my first visit. On the final visit I was informed that their best technician had diagnosed failing heater plugs that replacing these would solve the issue - It did not. So after four visits and being charged twice for other items that have failed I now have a vehicle running worse than its initial visit, despite their best technician trying to fix the problem of rough idling they are unable to. I made a formal complaint, the service manager did want to speak to me over the phone regarding job cards but would not correspond via email, however he did state that the diagnostics were used as a go to test after a vehicle had been repaired and vehicles were not always test driven, therefore vehicles may not be tested when engines had been warmed up. Overall an extremely poor experience that after four visits and two extra bills has left me with a vehicle in worse working order than when it was initially given to them, their best people are unable to fix an issue that presented whilst they had the vehicle. I am happy to support all of what I have stated with evidence!
Edit: th March :
I recieved an email from the service manager requesting that I call hom, I responded with a detailed email stating the facts about what had happened and the reasons why I believe any further communication should be made in writing, I stated that after 4 visits for an issue that was covered by warranty I had been charged twice and left with a new issue despite the best technician in Vertu Jaguar at Bolton attempting to rectify the problem. I am looking to escelate my complaint and would welcome an open challenge to my version of events that states that Vertu Jaguar Bolton have left my vehicle in inferior running order after 4 visits and 2 extra bills the vehicle is running rough where it wasn't before so they have had 4 attempts so have now shown themselves to be incomptetent despite being given opprotunities to rectify the issue.

Joke of a company.countless issues with front wheel.just had my first mot. Decided not to go to jlr Bolton due to poor service. Had a advisory on a leaking shock on the same wheel that I’ve had all the issues on. related or not I don’t know.rang Vertu to book under warranty claim. told I would have to pay over 140 pound just for them to look at it to confirm if it’s covered or not. I told them the issue as it noted on my mot doc but were insisting the charge I’ve no doubt when it does go in it won’t be coverd under warranty. E pace 27000 miles surely they can tell me if it’s coverd or not. If it’s not then they won’t be doing the works.

My daughter purchased a car from the Bolton branch November 2022. Warning lights all over the dashboard so returned the car to get it sorted. She was left without a car for almost a month before I complained, eventually she was given a courtesy car. 3 months later. My daughter is over £800 out of pocket. This dealership won't even acknowledge a formal complaint. Simon, Ashley and Oliver never took ownership,

Excellent service, Luke Dugdale found a car to our specifications and budget, couldn’t have been more helpful or pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble, absolutely no pressure. Everyone else we spoke to had the same attitude, lovely environment. The car is great and was presented immaculately, great dealer, thanks to all involved.

Cannot recommend this dealership enough . Ciaran Cox was very professional and knowledgeable and provided me with an excellent experience as did Paul Malloney . Even though I live in the midlands the journey to Bolton for my new car proved the right decision and all staff that I came in to contact with at this dealership were helpful and genuinely lovely people .

He guided us patiently and professionally through the selecting and purchasing of our pristine used Land Rover Evoke. We can’t praise the service enough and I would thoroughly recommend using this company. Thank you Dave and the Vertu team.
