It was enjoyable walking into the showroom at Renault Exeter looking around at stunning cars behind and before me.
I'd driven from Yeovil especially to see a car I'd first viewed in Auto Trader. A Renault Captur in flame red with a black roof. It was said to be economical, reliable, and with the top GT trim for its year- very comfortable.
It was indeed captivating for someone whose previous car boasted a CD player!
I spoke to Karen Evenden, who was courteous and professional. She showed me the car, and although second hand (2019 registration), it looked new - in showroom condition, with a relatively low mileage of 32,000.
Rain was pouring down during the test drive, but the car handled well. I had taken a Renault Captur for a test drive nearer to home, but I preferred the power of the diesel engine compared to the smaller petrol engine of before.
Besides, my wife and I are now young retirees. We spend a lot of time on longer journeys, travelling motorways and 'A' roads to see family members. So it's the most economical option too, And being Ulez friendly it's even good for the environment.
Karen adeptly answered my questions in the car and back in the showroom. She systematically went through the deal, which included part exchange. A few days later I was back to take possession.
I thoroughly enjoyed driving my new vehicle back to Yeovil, putting it through it's paces and testing out as many gadgets as I could!
My wife has also enjoyed driving the Captur and found it to be responsive. She thought it was one of those cars where you find yourself driving more quickly than you realise, because the engine is so willing.
Within a couple of weeks I had driven on motorways and in dense London traffic and the Captur served me well.
I decided I didn't want a couple of additional warranties I'd taken out at the point of sale. But these came with a cooling off period and I received a full refund through the efficient Karen.
But I am certainly keeping the car!

From my 1st visit to the collection of my new renault Andre' was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Always polite and never in a hurry.
The only slight disappointment was that the car was not fully charged as per earlier agreed.
This was down to a problem with chargers on site and I have been offered a full charge at a later date

Clear and helpful information about the vehicle and the process of purchase. Excellent guidance and info on the test drive. Our salesperson, Will, was upbeat, but not pushy, engaging but not insipid. Great! Despite some last-minute glitches (with regard to the vehicle itself), all was resolved efficiently and we drove away happy customers in our new Toyota.

Disappointed that the guaranteed trade in figure was not honoured. Didn’t find the small print that says your vehicle had to be worth £5000 or more to get the extra £500. When trying to pitch my vehicle I had to click on one that said partial service history when it had full. Matt was pleasant to deal with but I was mindful that he was “learning the ropes”. Surprised to see a reminder about first service from Vertu when I knew it was serviced in July. Hopefully it was reset so that the service light doesn’t come on at the end of September. Dissappointed that the insurance company valued the vehicle at £1000 less but overall happy with the car which is a lot of car for the year and age.

Over a month and still not received £99 deposit back, website says reserve for £99 and if you don't purchase we will give your deposit back, simply not true!!!! Took £99 from my account on July 9th 2025 and still waiting. I would not recommend this company
