After 17 years without buying a new car, we weren’t quite sure what to expect when we walked into Vertu Volkswagen Harrogate. Thankfully, the experience couldn’t have been better.

Euan, the sales advisor, greeted us. He was knowledgeable, courteous and genuinely helpful, taking the time to explain everything clearly without any pressure. His professionalism and helpful manner made what the whole process completely effortless.

Euan really went above and beyond what we expected, making sure we were comfortable with every step of the purchase.

I should also say that every member of staff we encountered was excellent, creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere throughout.

A thoroughly positive experience from start to finish. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Vertu Volkswagen Harrogate to anyone considering a new car.

I was taken hook line and sinker and paid £188 for nothing. It should have been explained at outset when booking my car in that the keyless door handles replaced under warranty did not carry a further warranty. I took my car in in good faith and came out £188 lighter. This is a typical example of bad practice.

The salesperson Freya was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Went in to Knaresborough for advice Saturday they said someone from service team would call today. I chased up at 3pm still told they would call today. Still waiting. Non existent customer service

Friendly staff, efficient service

Purchased a VW Used Approved T-roc from VERTU Harrogate . I am based in North Wales everything was done on the phone or by email the salesman Richard dealt with the whole purchase professionally and swiftly I didn't feel pressured and he checked on every detail throughout the purchase.
After initial worries buying at distance the driver dropped the car off this morning exactly on time the condition of the car is more like new than used in fantastic condition.
So I would highly recommend Vertu nice to use a company with polite professional staff.

Bought a car in November 2025, February 2026 have been told it needs new front brake pads and discs, so that 3 months approx 3000 miles and now have a repair bill, when contacting Stuart proctor repairs manager of harrogate branch I was offered no help. You do not expect a repair bill within the first year of buying the car from a dealer, you pay more for a better service. Prior to the brake problem I only had the vehicle 1 month and it was in for repair for the timing belt tensioner replacing. I would not recommend the harrogate vw branch, I do not believe they get vehicles ready for sale to the high standard you'd expect from a dealership, clearly cutting corners. I have now made a complaint to head office of vw and the Harrogate branch. next will be motor ombudsman

Bilal Arif was a brilliant salesman when we went to view the car. He didn’t push for a sale at all — instead, he really listened to what my wife and I were looking for and never tried to force anything.

He took the time to go through multiple options with us and handled everything very professionally.
Normally, salesmen can have a certain “ick” about them — you can usually tell when someone is just chasing a sale — but Bilal was the complete opposite.

He’s genuinely one of the best salesmen we’ve dealt with, and I’d highly recommend asking for him if you’re visiting Volkswagen Knaresborough.

He’s very down-to-earth, and I’d happily go through him again when buying another car

Our sales representative, Ruby Lister (from Harrogate VW), was truly excellent throughout the whole process of our new car purchase. Knowledgeable, empathetic, kind, patient... attributes that rarely spring to mind when describing a salesperson, Ruby exhibited all of the above whilst I was procrastinating on the final decision related to long-standing personal traits of caution and indecisiveness. I have little doubt that our purchase would have stalled had there been a pushy salesman in charge.

Lottie was my point of contact from start through to finish, and was super. She looked after us, had everything ready, and organised all the minor fixes, and ensured we received great service.

A special thanks goes to Lewis and the team for solving a problem before it was one - specifically to do with the new VED rates for vehicles. Turns out, my car was specced at £51 above the threshold. The Vertu team, when they were informed, opted to pay the full VED as it was something I wasn't aware of when buying. They didn't have to, but they did. Amazing customer focus.

Overall, a pleasant experience and me and the family are very happy with our purchase.
