poor service and decency
We arrived late at night after an 11hr journey with a 18 month baby and were denied our booked car and requested to cancel our booking as the credit card was in the name of the second driver and not the booker who only brought a debit card. Once we started the cancellation paperwork with them we were also requested to step aside and wait to allow new customers who arrived after us to be served first instead of finishing our cancellation. This despite of being there late at night with a baby and having to find a car alternative due to their refusal. Rude staff who lack compassion.

Service = non existent
Absolutely ridiculous. We rented a car for a late time, tired from a long flight with many bags. We show up, ready to drive home and we are hit with the news that the branch is closed. Obviously the booking was confirmed, checked and booked in advance. We called. Many times. Nothing. I wish I could write about the car, the return, but nothing. I couldn’t even get past the first meeting. Good luck if you actually try this rubbish car rental.

Good staff, good car but...
The Viaggiare offices and pickup/deliver areas in Catania and Palermo Airports are not with the other main car hire operators...but you're not told this, so we had problems finding their offices. Luckily we had lots of time so it wasn't serious though still stressful.
This could be solved by having a map of their offices as part of the paperwork. Simple solution.

The absolute WORST car rental company
The absolute WORST company. DO NOT use them if you want your deposit returned and they claim that you scratched the car badly (we have the photos.) and then ghost you. Absolute disgrace

No deposit returned
Hi, we returned the car without any problems in Sicily (confirmed by the contract). It was promised, that the money used as the deposit will be credited on my bank account the next working day. When nothing was credited, I contacted them and they suddenly mentioned that returning the deposit takes about 20-30 days. Until today they have not returned the deposit and they have not replying anymore.
UPDATE regarding the response of the rent-a-car company (as of 02.10.2023):
I may provide you with any information you need (or you may also check the e-mails addressed to your company) - Contratto n.: PMO 4006, other details were sent to the e-mail address you mentioned.
Until today, 2 months from returning the car, the result is the same- no deposit has been returned.
UPDATE regarding the response of the rent-a-car company (as of 12.10.2023):
Since I used DEBIT card, it is impossible not to see any incoming payment (unlike Italian banks- in my Slovak bank, all transactions are here when I sign in). Moreover, when I put this "contratto" number into email communication, you were able to find it, so I do not understand your argumentation. I made a reservation
through Discovercars.com - Booking number: DC-5800092.

Update: Dear Customer, we were unable to find your booking because the name on this portal does not correspond to the one with which the booking relating to the contract you indicated to us was made. The security deposit is returned when the car is returned if no damage is found. In your case, you must directly contact the bank that holds the card used for the security deposit because it could be an operation that you do not see in the transaction report.

Not following terms&conditions
We havent got the car we booked! They were asking for international driving licence even though we are from Lithuania which is EU country! It is mentioned in their terms&conditions that international driving licence is required for non-EU countries, but they have their own list of EU countries and follow that one... such a shame, you are discriminating our country! Now our family including 2 small kids needs to waste holiday hours, look for another provider and pay much much more ordering the car last minute and overpaying for that!
Update after Viaggiare comment: that was not done right away, OK came next day after contacting main office, so that is not true the problem was solved immediately... when we came back next day we did not get the car anyway even though it was agreed via phone about it (thanks for that), this time the problem was that old reservation had a status "cancelled". We did not get a car twice, very dissapointed about the service...

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT, ALLA PROSSIMA!

Very professional staff
The worker who issued me the vehicle was super nice and professional. Explained everything in detail, in fluent English. Even gave me some recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try, which I throughly enjoyed!

Really good experience
Really solid car rental company, with competitive pricing. A bit of queue to get the car in Palermo, but we got upgraded with a larger car. Also a really nice surprise to meet Mary in Catania, who was really efficient and highly dedicated ! We recommend !

We booked the car for 250 eur. We chose this company becasuse on their website was written we can use DEBIT card. However while renting the car, we were told, this price was only for CREDIT card and we had to pay 500 eur. That was very unpleasent. For this money we could have rent Mercedes.
Unluckily then we had a car accident. Our car was left scratched after meeting another car in a narrow street. We had full cover insurance. As we were returning the car, we were told, we only have to pay administration fee for the accident. The surprise was, that this fee should be 400 eur. That was terrible, we argued and then finally they decreased the fee to 150 eur. This was very suspicious. I wouldn´t recommend this company. Maybe it is good company, but only if you don´t have any problem.

AVOID!
Shame I can't give this bunch of criminals zero stars... My advice - avoid them and book with a more reputable company. I rent many cars per year and this was one of the worst ever.
I arrived 1:27 hours after the reservation was due to start, due to problems getting to the airport and I was charged a penalty fee of 50EUR. Apparently on 1/3/23 they reduced the grace time from 2 hours to 1 hour. It's completely unreasonable, given that they incurred no cost with me being slightly late.
I had no option but to pay the fee. Even when I agreed, they took a ridiculous amount of time to complete the collection.
The car park is chaos. Nobody showed us to the car or identified the existing damage on the car.
You have been warned!
