At collection in the middle of the day the office was closed. We waited around 30 mins for someone to show up.
At the end of the rental someone checked our car and there were no issues, so we were told we could leave. However, I noticed the following week that I’d been charged €150 with no communication or explanation. Upon investigation they said they were charging for a scratch that had mysteriously been found, even though it was not there when we checked the car back in. It has been impossible to get a refund.
Also the guy that moves their cars around is really rude.
Everything was good, fast pick-up and return and helpful communication

I rented with this company via Autoeurope, having seen the good reviews overall. But unfortunately it was not as good at Olbia branch. The good part - the car was nearly new, however, had some mark on the body which looked like some dirt spot and not mentioned in the report and for which they later charged me more than 200 euros. The staff offered company’s own insurance but it was more than half the car rental price, so I declined. On return they searched and charged me a several ‘damages’ that could easily be polished off, so I think their charges are excessive - over 500 euros which was quite a shock as I never had anything like that before.
I had insurance with Autoeurope and was able to claim back the charge. Be cautious if you want to rent from this branch as they seem to target people who don’t buy their insurance.

We booked through AutoEurope, because second driver was for free.
We picked up at night, 22:30, so we couldn't really see all scratches the car had, definitely more than documented, and it was not fully tanked like the contract said.
But when returning, it was no problem, and there was no complaint.
Baby seat was not secure and not easy to handle, but maybe it is okay like that in Italy.

The cars should be washed and the interior cleaned. We had dirty windows on the interior. The car interior had traces of sunscreen. Carpets and trunk had sand nothing that a little attention to detail can’t fix.

Katastrophale Erfahrung:
1,5 Stunden Warten auf das gebuchte Auto.
Uns wurde zuerst ein anderes Auto nur gegen 10 €/Tag Aufpreis angeboten.
Debitkreditkarte nicht akzeptiert → fast doppelt so teuer (454 € statt 222 €)!
Auto bei Übergabe völlig verdreckt.
Fazit: Unverschämt teuer, unprofessionell, dreckiges Auto. Nie wieder!

Do not book through them. Hard to reach them.
I rented a car with a broker, my flight was delayed of one hour, I tried to inform them (only number provided as emergency number in the contract) they did not reply and once I got to destination my car was already released and I was charged extra almost the same price I already paid for the rental to have a car. They said it is not their fault, they were busy and could not answer, enjoy travel said it is my fault I should have entered my flight number so that the agency could have followed my flight status, how??? I dont know know....considering that they were not even able to answer to my phone call.They also mentioned that I should have booked with them and not with a broker...but they like to have the visibility that the broker give them but then they treat you differently as you booked with the broker.

Awful experience. Rude criminal staff who trick and scam you… shouted at me when I complained . They scammed and tricked me upon arrival. Flight delayed and I arrived 50 minutes after the agreed collection time- the booking voucher said we had an hour to collect it- they then told me my booking was cancelled and made me pay nearly €300 for a new booking- I later found out they told the third party I’d booked it through that they’d charged this for extra insurance which I didn’t need as I’d already purchased this through the third party and that my original booking wasn’t cancelled. AVOID!!!!

Aggressive staff, constant pressure to buy useless insurance, and even €10 extra to “skip the line.” At pick-up, they repeatedly threatened not to give me the car. On top of that, they blocked 700 euros as a deposit, even though my Discovery contract clearly stated a maximum of 500 euros. They completely ignore the terms you book with Discovery and act as if only their rules apply.
At drop-off, you risk unfair charges because the damages listed never match the real condition of the car. The manager was rude and threatening, shouting at customers – an absolute nightmare.
⚠️ If you are forced to rent with them:
Film the entire car inside and outside, down to the smallest detail, because they will check every scratch.
Be present at the checkout. They sometimes say “you can just leave, we’ll handle it,” but if you’re not there, they may mark extra damages against you. Since those damages are never updated on the original document, your only protection is to stay and record everything.
Even if you buy their own insurance, they’ll tell you “don’t worry about making videos, you’re covered” – but later they can still turn it against you with hidden charges.
This company relies on pressure, intimidation, hidden costs, and outright lies. Honestly, it feels like a fraudulent setup. Never again with Viaggiare Olbia.

I was serviced fast, car was what I expected, returning car was fast, deposit was back in my account in just some couple days. Overall good.
There was queue before me and some clients were unhappy and solving their issues was very slow but all in all I was serviced very nice.

We had a deeply disappointing experience with Viaggiare Rent at Olbia Airport.
First, despite reserving and fully paying for our car in advance, we waited nearly 2 hours in the scorching sun at their outdoor office—a miserable experience in summer heat!
Second, they forgot to provide the child seat we paid for, forcing us to return to the airport another day.
Worst of all, they charged us €150 for a scratch that was already on the car at pickup.
We declined their overpriced insurance (they charged €150 for a week of insurance, which would mean that their car insurance would cost €7800 for an entire year !!!! unbelievable), which seemed to upset them, so we took photos and videos of the car’s condition. When we presented this evidence, they outright dismissed it!
It feels like a deliberate tactic: omitting damages from the rental agreement to trap hurried customers into paying for pre-existing issues if they don’t buy their insurance. This borders on a scam.
Strongly recommend choosing a different rental company to avoid this nightmare!
CLAIM.
You charged my payment card today for €560 without my authorization and for no reason. This is a scam, credit card fraud.
We rented a car from your company. It was dirty and damaged, with scratches on the front and rear bumpers.
We took a video the day we picked up the car, showing the location of your airport parking lot, and another one the day we returned it to your parking lot. This clearly shows that we didn't damage the car; it was already like that.
We filed a police report for fraud, contacted our lawyer, and contacted the bank for card fraud.
The only solution is to reimburse us or we will sue you for fraud.

Avoid this car rental company at all costs. They will use multiple tactics to keep your money:
1. They discourage you from documenting existing damage.
2. They later claim pre-existing damage as your responsibility.
3. They keep your deposit and charge extra.
4. They falsely state that damage is excluded under “all-risk” insurance.
5. They stop communicating entirely when challenged.
Long Version:
We rented a car from this company a few weeks ago, and the experience was awful from the start. We waited over an hour in the burning sun, while angry customers ahead of us were already yelling inside the office.
Once we finally got the car, employees told us not to take pictures because we had “all-risk” insurance. We still took photos of the exterior, but not the interior — and that turned out to be a mistake.
When we returned the car, there was a small stain on one of the seats, which we know was already there. Still, this should not matter since we paid for an all-risk insurance. Two weeks later, we received an email saying we were being charged extra, and that they would keep our deposit.
We reminded them that we had GOLD all-risk insurance, which explicitly covers interior damage (Article 11: includes bodywork, underbody, windows, tyres, rims, and interior, with exceptions only for specific parts like the dashboard, airbags, seat belts, or screens).
Instead of honoring the coverage, they invoked Article 4, which only applies in extreme cases like gross negligence, misconduct, or traffic violations. Claiming a minor stain as a violation of that article is completely unreasonable. What is the point of an all-risk insurance if a stain on a car seat is placed under gross negligence?
Now, they’ve stopped responding to our messages entirely and never paid our deposit back. Please rent your car somewhere else!
