Reading a lot of bad reviews but my experience was the absolute opposite. All went very smooth, collection and return. No trying to sell me additional insurance. Return was done within 2 minutes. I can absolutely recommend them

Predatory service

Upon arrival I was informed that viaggiare doesn't accept Amex credit cards and can't charge excess to a debit card at the agreed rate.

So I was given a new rate, over twice as expensive as the booked rate, and told that it's a problem of using a broker and only having an Amex credit card.

If this is such a problem for Viaggiare then the business should proactively call or email users to say that the secured rate is only valid for credit cards and not Amex.

I've driven ~tens of rental cars from all the big rental car providers as well as small local rental car providers, and never been told before that I can't put the excess on a debit card accepting a new rate.

Unacceptable!

Truly awful car rental experience from Olbia airport. Waiting for over an hour in the hot sun (with my 18 month old son) as there was nowhere to queue in shade or inside. Staff just shrugged shoulders when I complained that they don't have anywhere suitable to wait, there were also only about 5 people in front of me so an hour to queue was far too long.

When I went to pick up my car I was told they could not accept a debit card (which I was not made aware of previously) and because I didn't have a credit card I was forced to upgrade to the highest insurance which about doubled the cost of my rental, again staff were very unfriendly and told me it was in the small print and I should have read it thoroughly.

It looked at first as though I was going to save money here but it ended up costing me a lot more than I planned and caused a bad start to our holiday.

Rented a car at Olbia airport last summer. Own excess insurance so politely declined their insurance offer. No issues with the vehicle. Returned with slightly less fuel than what it was at pick up. The check in lady suggested I drive to the nearby petrol station to top it up to avoid extra charge which I did. Very pleasant experience overall.

We rented a car from Olbia Airport 2022, by Viaggiare. The car was an old Fiat Panda, very used with tires without pattern. Onfortunately we did not see this before we had a puncture on our way back to the airport. The very helpfull roadside service man showed us that and told us that the tires were irresponsible to drive with. Viaggiare denied everything and charged us 300 euro for the puncture of one tire. Of our best knowledge, this is the price for 4 new tires. Fortunately we had signed an insurance by discover cars, so they refunded it all. We had no help from Viaggiare to handle the puncture, their attitude were rude and unfriendly. Never use this small company

Had fast service and good experience with this company. Got a car in Cagliari and returned in Olbia. Silvio was polite and friendly, quickly checked the car and gave me a receipt. I recommend

To avoid. They are playing tricky games with fuel, damages etc. Be aware that of all documents you have a copy. If you don't have (because they will not give you all) they let you pay all damages there were already before. That's their way to earn money. Go to the police nearby and make report of these practices. They presented me a false damage report which was not the one I signed but they did not expect I had a copy of the original. Viaggiare are cheap criminals who risk going to be condemned for fraude soon. I will advise the poor staff to leave the company as soon as possible because police will roll up this club soon.

Really happy with this car rental in Olbia, Sardinia. Everything went smoothly. No surprises or problems. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend to use thier car facilities. Thier team is really good and the fleet is also nice. all of them speak good English.

On March 25, we rented a Fiat 500 from the Viaggiare Rent office in Olbia in Sardinia. We only drove on normal roads, but nevertheless got a flat tire. We had it repaired at our own expense, but despite this Viaggiare Rent had two new tires fitted when we returned the car. Not only was the car better than before we rented it, but we also got a bill for €559 euros. That is more than 250% more expensive than a normal garage would calculate. Viaggiare Rent should bear the cost of new tires itself and certainly not charge such an extreme price. This is a huge disappointment for any tourist and a reason not to come back.

I took the car in Alghero and (very unfortunately) I dropped it in Olbia airport where I paid 70 euro for just about an hour delay and another 40 for something else , but this is not the real reason of my disappointment.Fine. Apart from the fact that they are the MOST EXPENSIVE car rental on the market, the RUDENESS and the careless of the female employee there at their office in Olbia made my experience horrible, customer service is not for her definitively. I will never ever ever book with this company again. SCAM in every possible way, stay away if you can. Like I said I am not disappointed at the charge for the extra day, I just feel like a customer must be treated with respect, also considering the high competition out there!! Summer time in Olbia is nice but very short too.... pay extra care when hiring people that will sit at your front desk!

Have rented cars in numerous countries and never had problems like I did with this company. Two months after returning home they debited money from my credit card claiming it to be an admin fee for a speeding fine. They were unable to provide any proof of this fine despite several requests for it. Buyer beware!

Very bad experience. Worst experience ever hiring a car, and it is still ongoing. We hire a car at least twice a year, every year, all over the world. We have been doing this for over a decade.

On this trip; two weeks in Sardinia, September 2021, we collected the car from Viaggiare. The car was parked in a shaded area and it was against a wall. I took a video around the car, in case we missed anything. Two days later I found damage to the lower area of the bumper and rear wing. This showed in my video, fortunately. So, either we all missed the damage, or they tried to pass the damage to us so they could charge us for it on return. Speculation, but the latter, I think, is the truth.

A week into our holiday, our neighbour came to tell us he had hit the car. There was some minor damage, certainly enough to make a report. There is a report to complete, supplied with the car but, missing in this case. I phoned Viaggiare to ask what to do and was instructed to collect a form the following day. This wouldn’t work as, the other party was leaving that day, so they instructed me to take all the usual details.

On returning the car they told me that without the report signed by both parties, they could do nothing and I would need to make an accident report with the police at the airport. Odd I thought, no crime was committed. The girl assured me, that this was the thing to do. I paid the €800 for the damage, and went to the airport. Unsurprisingly, the police told me to stop wasting their time and go away.

On my return to the UK, I contacted Viaggiare again but, they refuse to help. Fortunately, the other party had full insurance and are being very helpful. No resolution as yet.

In the meantime Viaggiare deducted £50 from my credit card for a speeding fine. Supposedly 71mph in a 70. This claim/fine is unsubstantiated as they refuse to produce the actual notification. All we have is a letter from them. I have, on multiple occasions, requested proof. They say they posted the original to me, and didn’t keep a copy. I’ve reported the transaction as fraudulent to my credit card company.

Don’t hire a car with them. It’s just not worth the stress. They lie, cheat and steal.
