Viaggiare Rent - Verona Reviews 

I am not usually one to write reviews but I feel like I must warn others to STAY AWAY from Viaggiare!

We rented from Viaggiare on our recent trip to Italy because of their affordable price.

We picked up our car, stopped for lunch 10 minutes later (only 5 kilometers from the rental car pickup) and when we got back into the car the clutch was completely stuck to the ground and the car would not more.

We tried calling the company and the rental office, no answer. So we had to taxi back to the rental office. The rental office would not help us even though we did not cause the damage to this car and sent us back to the car to wait for a tow truck. After waiting for 3 hours, the tow truck messaged us they were not coming.
We went back to the rental office and finally they gave us a new car and said they would take care of the other one.

One week after returning the car we get charged $1,600 by Viaggiare for the original car claiming the issues were our fault even though we only drove it 5 km and 10 minutes!

This company is not helpful, they do not take any ownership for their own mistakes, and they do not take care of their customers.

Pay the extra money and book with someone else!

Prompt service, great price and gave us a free upgrade when we arrived as they were worried about how we would fit luggage in. Amazing service and would come back for sure

We are very disappointed with the support service… we send 3 emails to ask for more details about an additional 150 € charge the after we returned home and haven’t received any reply yet… after more than 1 month…

Our experience with the booking and the car was good, but the checkout and post- service have not been good.

Our booking included a full cover insurance, we did have a small scratch which we reported when returning the car to Diana (the staff from Verona airport), we specifically asked her to confirm that there was no additional cost as we had full cover insurance coverage which was confirmed by her.

What a surprise when some days later we received an invoice charging us 150 eur, even thought we did pay the full cover insurance !!

We send 3 emails asking for the details of the charge…last email was send on 8th August… still no answer…

We are frequent travellers, we are always very concious of doing the things right and contract the right insurances to be covered, so this is very disappointing and we kindly ask you to review our case.

They scam you in the insurance. After you return the car, they keep your security deposit. Ask for pictures, if you didn’t take any pictures, they send you pictures of “damages” and charge you basically whatever deposit you left with them.
They also scam you on gas. They ask that you fill the tank, but gave it to us with a 3/4 full.
I have a few questions for the company:
1- why do you use three different names?
Viaggare rent (on the contract), Nü (on expedia), Gold Rental (on location)
2- why do you not have someone inspecting the car during check-in and check-out? There should be someone making sure the tank is full and there are no damages to the car!
3- why do you ask for an 800 euro deposit on a Fiat 500? I have never seen such an amount even when renting fancy cars.
After you have clear answers for this practice…

Charged me for damage that was on car prior to rental, also very, very slow when hiring took nearly 30 minutes when no other customers present, they send you an SMS and electronic signature system online but my phone would not receive the messages. Crazy collection system. Make sure you take photos of every part of car even those with no obvious damage as they may look at wheels for scuff marks and fine you. Avoid, avoid

Viaggiare Yes, BUT NOT with Viaggiare Rent at Aereoporto in Verona!
This has been the worse experience since I have been renting cars abroad for the last 20 years!!!

I have been simply cheated by this car rental company:
1) I have rented a car via Discover Cars website for five days and although I was fully covered, they offered me an additional insurance; at my arrival, their desk was close and it was the only one not operative: others were already busy working with clients...now I know why!
2) once paid, me and my friend, who also booked a car with them, we were given the keys of the cars, directing us straight to the car park with no member of staff available to show them, as usually other companies do.
3) both cars' tank were nearly empty. We were told to bring back the cars as we had them: despite our Full to Full contract
4) ok, we said, never mind...during my stay in Italy I have had absolutely no incidents, either driving or parking, I have been very but very careful as always, but when returning the car, (office was closed AGAIN and so I had to park safely in aside another car), I was called whilst I was boarding on the plane and I was told that I would be charged around 300 euros for a tiny probably preexisting mark in the bumper.
I had no chance to explain or trying to negotiate.
