Satisfied customers

Do not deal with this company

I had an appalling experience with this company. The upshot: do not trust them with your money. They give every impression of being on the verge of going bust. I put a deposit down on a quartzite slab, made an appointment through them to see it in person at the wholesaler. I travelled quite some distance to see it, only to discover that the slab had not arrived (the wholesaler had told them that it wouldn’t be there, but they hadn’t bothered telling me). I picked out a different (more expensive) slab and negotiated a price to have that made up to my requirements. I was provided with an invoice for worktops in the new material, White Cristallo Quartzite. This is explicitly stated on the invoice. I then paid all but the templating and installation costs as they told me that doing so would secure both the slab and the agreed price. When I contacted them to arrange a templating date, however, they issued me with a revised invoice for £1500 more than the agreed price, despite my having an invoice that clearly stated they were committed to providing the worktop to me at the previously agreed price. In their response to my review, they claim that the change in price was due to a change in material, but this is simply false. Both invoices state exactly the same materials, worktop dimensions and finishes. In my dealings with him, the owner Kumar was extremely rude, talked over me, gave a whole lot of completely spurious reasons why he could not honour his company’s commitment to me, which essentially amounted to the claim that he could “not operate his business at a loss.” I was initially adamant that he honour his commitment. However, the fact that he would knowingly incur a bad review (as I told him I would write) rather than honour a commitment, when the loss in question must be less than £1500, suggests strongly to me that his company is not in good financial standing. I therefore asked for my money back. It took them two days to reimburse me, and I was extremely relieved to eventually get it back. Out of curiosity, I rang the wholesaler and told him the story. He said that he was not surprised, as he had been chasing work-tops.com to pay for my White Cristallo Quartzite slab for quite some time and that they had not done so. They had taken my money without honouring their commitment secure the slab. All of my dealings with them suggest that they are financially desperate. They are certainly dishonest.

1. Material Selection and Warehouse Visit

- Initially, you had selected Bellagio Quartzite (30mm), and we scheduled a warehouse visit on **23rd November** for you to view the slab.
- On **22nd November**, we informed you via email that due to the slab’s unavailability, the appointment was rescheduled to **30th November**. However, we understand that you visited the warehouse on **23rd November** without confirming the new date.
- During your visit, the warehouse team informed you that the Bellagio Quartzite slab would not arrive until the following week. As you expressed that waiting for the delivery was not ideal, you chose an alternative material, White Cristallos (30mm), which unfortunately is priced higher than the Bellagio Quartzite.

2. Invoice Adjustment

- The original invoice was created based on the Bellagio Quartzite material, which was the one initially selected.
- After your decision to switch to the White Cristallos (30mm), a revised invoice was issued, reflecting the higher cost of the new material.
- It's important to note that, given the price of the White Cristallos, we could not cover the additional cost of approximately £1500 within the original invoice amount of £6000.

3. Refund Process

- On **13th January 2025**, you notified us of your decision to cancel the order for the White Cristallos material and requested a refund.
- On **14th January 2025**, we promptly contacted you to confirm your BACS details so we could process your refund.
- The full refund was successfully completed on the same day, **14th January 2025**, and we confirmed receipt of the refund from your side as well.

Please Note: As a genuine customer-focused company, we acted swiftly to process the refund, and we are proud to have done so immediately after your request, ensuring a timely resolution.

We deeply regret that the communication and processes surrounding your order did not meet your expectations and led to frustration. We understand how important it is for our customers to feel confident and informed, and we will take your feedback to heart as we strive to improve our operational procedures and communication in the future.

Kitchen- fantastic.

I found work- tops on a google search and what struck me was the vast choice of stone and there the process started.the team were easy to talk to and new exactly what I was looking for.all instructions were clear from templating to installation, they even organized the template to be done on a Saturday just to fit with my plans.The guys that did the install were absolutely brilliant, first class job very polite and hard working with a good sense of humour.If I had another project then this is the company I would use, the whole experience was first class and I highly recommend them.well done work-tops.

Fitted defective worktop and won’t refund

Fitted defective worktop that stains very easily, even from water. They acknowledged it was faulty and now won’t offer a refund.

Have offered a “replacement” at a vastly higher cost!

We are now having to go through the effort of making a refund claim through our credit card company.

As you’re aware, the Seapearl worktop was selected and installed with complete transparency. Prior to installation on July 25, we shared high-resolution images and videos to ensure you were fully informed about the material’s appearance and quality.

When you later raised concerns about water staining, we acted swiftly by arranging an inspection. While resealing the worktop could have resolved the issue, we respected your preference for a full replacement. Despite this request falling outside of our standard policy, we agreed to replace the worktop without charging you any labor costs, asking only for you to cover the material cost difference, which you agreed to.

The first replacement option you chose, the Taj Mahal quartzite, unfortunately presented some hairline cracks, which we informed you about immediately after inspecting the slab. To provide you with more options, we arranged for you to visit a different supplier warehouse, where you selected two new options: Monte Cristo Macchia Oro and Madreperola. As these are premium materials, we communicated the price difference to ensure clarity before moving forward.

Please bear in mind that while we strive to source the highest quality natural stone, inherent characteristics such as hairline cracks or slight imperfections can sometimes be present due to the nature of the material. Although these occurrences are rare, they are a part of working with natural stone. We are, however, fully committed to resolving the matter and ensuring your satisfaction.

As the worktop has already been fabricated and installed, a full refund is not possible at this stage, but we remain ready to promptly replace the worktop once the final material is selected and confirmed. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate your continued cooperation.

We are committed to working closely with you to ensure a satisfactory resolution.

**Terrible Experience with…

**Terrible Experience with Work-Tops.com**

I had a very negative experience with Work-Tops.com. After giving them a deposit, they vanished and stopped responding to my messages and calls. They seemed only interested in my money, with no intention of delivering the promised service.

To make matters worse, they asked me to remove my worktops and sink but never showed up. This damaged my kitchen, and now I’m pursuing legal action to recover my deposit and cover the costs. They have been untrustworthy and dishonest throughout this entire process. I would strongly advise against working with this company!

Due to this ongoing miscommunication, we are unable to continue and complete your project.

To provide some clarity, we made every effort to communicate all the necessary details regarding the project, both in writing and through phone conversations. From the beginning, we were transparent about the scope of our services, the terms and conditions, and the preparation required for your site visit.

Checklist & Communication:
We provided the checklist via email and WhatsApp to ensure you were fully prepared for the template visit on 14th September 2024. You had mentioned issues downloading the file from the email link, so we sent it again via WhatsApp. You have consistently insisted that you were ready for the template appointment and requested that we book it on an urgent basis. Unfortunately, when we arrived for the template appointment, the old worktop had not been removed as required. This prevented our team from proceeding, and as stated in our terms, this resulted in a rescheduling fee.

Scope of Work:
We clearly outlined the charges in both the estimate and the invoice, and these terms were accepted upon payment. Additionally, we communicated that our services cover only worktop installation and do not include plumbing, gas, or sink installations, as we are not licensed for those tasks. This was explained both in the estimate and the scope document.

Efforts to Assist:
Despite the issues encountered, we made several efforts to go beyond our standard services. We offered to remove the worktop for an additional £350 and agreed to glue the sink onto the worktop at no extra cost as a goodwill gesture. We even reduced the rescheduling fee from £250 to £150 to help ease the situation.

Timeline of Events:
Deposit Paid: £480 paid on 12th September 2024 at 13:12 PM.
Receipt Issued: 13:21 PM the same day.
Template Checklist: Sent via email at 13:22 PM and resent on WhatsApp at 15:54 PM. You confirmed receipt at 16:04 PM.
Template Appointment: Booked for 14th September 2024, confirmed multiple times before the visit.
Unfortunately, on 14th September 2024, our team was unable to proceed due to incomplete preparations on-site, which led to the rescheduling fee as per our terms.

Next Steps:
We understand this situation has been frustrating, but all of our terms and procedures were communicated clearly through different channels to ensure full transparency. We are ready to process the partial refund as detailed in our previous email.

We deeply regret that we couldn’t meet your expectations and sincerely wish you success with your project moving forward. Should you have any further questions or need additional clarification, we remain available to assist.

Company very easy to deal with

Company very easy to deal with. Lots of communication. The fitter (Ammar, I think) was really nice. So much so, our neighbours commented on how nice he was.
We did have an issue with the work top breaking in transit, it was sorted by the next day. Accidents happen, but how people deal with them is really telling. The fitter dealt with it immediately and communicated with us every step of the way. He was excellent
