Serious complaint lunch salad with STAPLES!!

Serious complaint: staples in my lunch salad - still waiting for proper response / follow-up action from AH.
It has been now a week since i reported that i found staples in my lunch salad - via their customer service a ticket was created, but there the support stops. Agent apologized for the fact that there should not be staples in the salad and they would send a "return envelope" for further investigation. Someone was going to contact me directly and after that is went completely silent. No compensation/personal checking how I was doing (since i found the staples while chewing!!) Horrific how they treat a safety issue like this - this is a health/safety risk. I could have serious wounds in my mouth, even could have swallowed the staples! I have reached out the customer support already 3 times, but no real responsible quality person has contacted me. So my advise to anyone buying a lunch salad at AH to Go: check the content on "new" staples before you start eating. I will NOT buy here any longer and have informed also the Nederlandse Voedsel en Warendienst to investigate.

Albert Heijn Bullying Customers. Wrongly Accused at Albert Heijn Self Scan

This morning I was wrongly accused of stealing at Albert Heijn, Haarlermerstraat. I self scanned all my groceries, was checked and the employee started saying loudly that I had not scanned all of the most expensive items in my basket. I replied in complete shock and horror that it was not true and that I would never do that. That I was a local customer in the area. She called another colleague over, they both spoke in Dutch while I stood there so deeply embarrassed and stressed, with all the shoppers around me looking at me. Suddenly, she says, oh you can carry on. Pardon? She just walks off mumbling it was a system error. I got home and I was shaking and have felt traumatised the entire day since. This happened to me in front of my local community and neighbours. I felt attacked. I do not want to use their self scan service again let alone step foot in there. AH this is completely unacceptable. You are responsible for your staff.
At the VERY LEAST train them to properly apologize when an error has been made that harms a customers reputation publicly. Or was it not an error but AH employees using their role to bully and harass customers?

Not worth the time to order

I buy a lot online and I am used to problems. But this company is the worst experience I have ever had.
Terminal for cards is not working. Credit cards not accepted. Bank collection (SEPA) not working or not offered, you get for 2+ hours the message that the delivery guy is just 1 stop away.
Customer service is not really friendly, helpful or solution oriented.
You order a certain amount of pieces, it does not inform you those are not available until you finish the shopping.
No, not again. Not worth the time.

Customer Service pushes customer away from AH

A real shame to leave AH! We have recently experienced a few times very late delivery from online shopping, and last night, we shopping never came, while we have been told that we were not home, so a fine of EURO50 was immediately processed. We have both been home and trying to speak to customer service, but guess what? telephone line closes at 6pm, and the chat service we waited more than 2 hours and no reply. We had to rush to the shop to get some food for the kids late in the evening and their school lunch box for the next day. The biggest problem is we are having a party in the house as well the next day, and now we are completely left in blank for the party, as we are both still working today.
Finally my husband managed to chat with someone this morning, and turned out this person simply says : sorry, it is what it is, and i cannot help you. what a ATTITUDE! are Ah becoming so arrngant
I cannot believe what i hear, and how unhelpful they can be.
This is such a disappointing experience, no telephone number can be found and trying to speak to the shops while they say they operate separately from the online shopping........ We refuse to pay for the penalty and would like to ask people if they have experienced such situation as well. Can't AH track your driver's route through your system? it will clearly show they were not at our door step, instead you turn very quickly to the client and take their money? TIme to leave AH, we already cancelled our subscription for delivery (but probably that is something you don't even care)

How on Earth this store gets worse…

How on Earth this store gets worse every time I go there? What the hell is management thinking ?the good Vegan feta is gone , and they substitute it with some AH garbage again! No one cares for your products, they taste like garbage and we do not trust you with the ingredients! Also, you had olives that were recalled and substituted with AH option. The rest of the stores are bringing vegan products , you are removing them from the shelves, and products that sell ... the stupidity of it does not escape me. Keep up with the times, and again we do not want your products, they are brands that are doing this for years and they have established themselves, let the client choose what they want to pay for!!!!!!

Customer Service is a joke!

Customer Service totally and completely unhelpful. The first time trying to get through to someone I waited nearly 30 minutes before the call suddenly ended on me. Called again and waited 20 minutes when I finally got through to someone. The issue I've been trying to solve is that the 6-digit login code to the AH app is not coming through on my phone. I have not been able to log in to their app for months. The woman on the other end asks me a bunch of security questions e.g. what's my postal code, the number of my living address, the email I logged in with, my date of birth. She keeps telling me they can't find me in their system. She tells me she'll try to figure this out for me while putting me on hold "for a moment". At this point I'm 40 minutes into this call and wait another 20 minutes with no update.

At the 1 hour mark, I say "Hello, any update?" where literally a second later the call gets hung up on me...! Seriously what the f***?

Calling this experience incredibly frustrating is a massive understatement.

Follow up.
14/7/23. A week later still zero response from Albert Heijn to my serious complaint. Clearly this company does not remotely care about its customers.

7/7/23. I was wrongly accused of stealing in AH Biljmer To Go Arena store by a female staff member who continued to be rude and sarcastic even after realising her error. My subsequent complaint (which apparently could only be made via chat) has been ignored. Tried to followed up and told no complaint was lodged. This company has appalling customer service and is clearly happy for its customers to endure random accusations of theft and lousy attitude from staff rather than address its substandard recruitment policy and apologise properly for this terrible treatment. It’s clear from other posts the Albert Heijn could not care less about anything other than profit.

Albert Heijn is a complete ripoff

Albert Heijn is a complete ripoff. They don’t have good quality products and their prices are higher than any other supermarket. Even their famous bonus buys are pure ripoff. They just steal your money.

They have a buy one and get one free offer this week for blueberries but it is a fraud. You buy one 150g pack of blueberries and get a second one free for €4,59 but at Jumbo you can see the normal price for 300 grams of blueberries are €4,59. So Albert Heijn just doubled their price and then gave you 1+1. A pure steal. And also this week Jumbo has 300 grams of blueberries on sale for €3,00. I hate Albert Heijn, it’s just a corporate money making machine. They care nothing about customers or quality of food and they shamelessly rip off people. The most vulnerable people fall for their cons, like the elderly that don’t have much money for food. What a horrible company. Their business model is a crime. I have photo proof if anyone wants to see it.

LGBTQi+ Discriminatie by AH Groenplaats Antwerpen :

When you go to this supermarket esp when you are gay / homo or lesbian you get discriminated with extra control & checking at the checkout, by a normal supermarket they control 4-6 items but by this Albert Hein they prefer to check every single item, they first start by removing every item, scanning it & after all the items have been scanned instead of placing it back it your bag with care. NO they throw it back in your bag ! No respect & they clearly have no respect for your shopping including eggs.
We were not going to write a review but after being treated like this by them already the 3rd time, we have now decided to never shop at this AH again, they do NOT treat the customer with any respect & are very aggressive, when we complained about there behaviour, they deny it & then they claim we are racist, If this is the way Albert Hein want to behave to customers who have shopped with them for more than 30 years, they should carry on !!! We will no longer shop here, we have no wish to be treated with no respect & be accused of being racist. The Manager who claims to be the Manager of this store clearly has no idea how to train his staff with any kind of customer service & he does not know how to behave. He first denied everything & then when it was clear the fault was by him, he ordered us to leave the store, obviously the shopping was already paid for but just to be treated like this, we prefer to shop at Jumbo in the future, where they are friendly well educated & have well trained staff & they know how to treat there customers with respect !

bezorgdienst van ah is a nightmare

bezorgdienst van ah is a nightmare. They hire ppl with mental disorder, no checking, no pre teaching the information about their company policy in case they have some. it seems like They are picking up ppl from street and you make such a big mistake if you trust the name of the biggest supermarket and let the delivery man infront your home even tii your kitchen!. Happened already couple of times, shouting, complaining personels and by the last one we were almost gonna call the police. Need some product still from this supermarket but not daring to order anymore from the delivery service and searching for other alternatives.

Frustrating that across the line the…

Frustrating that across the line the service at in particular Albert Heijn Scheldeplein Amsterdam is soo poor.
Continuous mistakes, constant checks of groceries at the self-service check-outs (with rude stuff throwing groceries out, and not having the courtesy to put them back into the bag), no option to pay at a serviced counter, and very rude unskilled and unmotivated staff.
Similar experience (slightly better though) at the Maasstraat Amsterdam AH. Luckely AH Beethovenstraat has well trained, friendly and service minded staff.
Fine to pay substantially more for groceries but, how is it possible that the most expensive supermarket in this country has the poorest service (Jumbo, Lidl are somehow able to deliver constant high level of service).
Truly hope that more Jumbo's and Lidl's will open up in Amsterdam South so we can avoid going to AH.

It’s is a shame how long customers have…

It’s is a shame how long customers have to wait if they pay cash !!!! You press the self pay Kassa on everyone saving cost and service !!! Last time I shop at yours !!!! A disgrace ! First letting us do the job of a cashier and now only one cashier open and 6 closed ! With lines far into the market !!!! And then after 20 min wait I have to pay for that stuff 😅 worst supermarket I have been in !!!!!

Bezorgbundel cancellation nightmare

I am writing to share a frustrating experience of AH bezorgbundel subscription. The website interface is useless. It doesn’t show outstanding invoices clearly, which means that those invoices are being sent to a debt collection agency. I tried to cancel my subscription in my account and pay off the agency. Even after that I cannot cancel the subscription. Calling the customer care is useless. They keep going around in circles without offering a solution on how to close the matter. I feel annoyed and super frustrated having paid the extra collection fees and not knowing how to close the subscription.
