As an Executor I needed unoccupied house insurance and Harry at AIB was very helpful and took the time to explain my options then went away to get me a couple of quotes and came back to me the same afternoon. I was able to take out the best option for our situation and was grateful for the help given

So I was loosing the will to live with issues over needing a 'credit agreement signiture' request by Close Brothers as an on line request, which I was not prepared to do. I finally spoke to a Harry who was very helpful, sympathetic and understanding and then in turn Petek, a lovely lady, who rang Close Brothers on my behalf and sorted out not just the signiture issue(which wasn't required in the end) but the payments and amounts which Close Brothers arbitrarily changed from what I had agreed with Academy, now known as AIB, I am really fed up with Close Brothers and their underhand dealings and unhelpfulness, but very happy with the above two CSA's and the outcome. Thank you both of you and I hope you are rewarded somehow for going above and beyond to help me.

I recently took out a new policy with AIB insurance and was very impressed with the efficient service I received from Harry, the Sales Advisor. He was very helpful, courteous and responded promptly, and I was satisfied with the quote.

I had a very disappointing experience with this AIB insurance company.

They are not transparent with their customers and, in my opinion, they mislead people. The contract clearly states that in case of cancellation, a refund should be issued — however, in reality, they refuse to return the money.

On top of that, their customer service is extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of helping, they speak to clients in a disrespectful and dismissive manner.

I strongly advise others to read everything very carefully and be cautious before choosing this company. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them.
Very disappointing and misleading experience.

I took out an insurance policy with the expectation that, as stated in the contract, I would receive a refund if I cancelled. However, when I requested cancellation, I was told I would receive 0% back.

While there is a table buried in the policy showing reduced refunds over time (and 0% after 120 days), this was never clearly explained at the beginning. The contract wording is vague and says refunds “may not” be given, which is very misleading in practice.

In reality, they apply strict rules that leave customers with nothing back, even though this is not transparently communicated upfront.

On top of that, customer service was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful when I tried to clarify the situation.

I strongly advise anyone considering this company to read every detail carefully and be extremely cautious. My experience shows a lack of transparency and poor customer treatment.

I am very pleased to have been contacted by AIB Insurance this afternoon. Was looking to insure my old Motorhome and Harry Lanyon did a great job in finding me an excellent deal which included many extras at a price cheaper than those quoted on comparison websites. It was nice to speak with a real person rather than a chat with a computer. I would certainly recommend this company and will use them in the future for my other insurance needs.

Had a great call with Ryan, he was very helpful and professional with appropriate humour and friendliness. I feel I have a good deal and will continue to use AIB in the future
