They cancelled my flight - just because they got a new one after 24 hours, they said it was okay as it was due to "safety reasons" - no payment, nothing. I spent additional close to 600 CAD for an a... See more

Avoid this airline
London to Vancouver. The worst experience ever. When we arrived we did not get our sport luggage, we spent 5 days trying to contact someone who can help us. But it was impossible to talk to someone who could obtain information about our luggage. 6 days later they found the luggage, broken, without the locker and some stuffs of the snowboarding gear stolen.
The worst customer service department
The worst customer service department. They just ignore you and never return calls or emails to resolve your issue. Avoid at all costs.
Great experience
Good food, good entertainment choices, friendly and helpful staff...We had multiple flights on our holiday and Airtransat were by FAR the best of them. I will absolutely be flying with them again.
Budget airline - bring your own food
The food is terrible and seats are very, very narrow. If your baggage is overweight or you need to bring an extra piece of luggage, the fees are extortionate. I use Air Transat to fly between Toronto and London, UK very often and it is certainly the budget choice - be prepared to get what you pay for.
Like travelling in the 1980s
Poor quality food, and no personal entertainment option on a 7 hour flight, just a small TV screen about 8 rows in front and the same two films that I watched on the way out. I would have excepted this as a 'pay off' for cheaper flights - but at nearly £2.5k for 3 seats... Never again.
The other entertainment option is to download an 'App' so that you can stream entertainment to your own portable devices (at the time only available for Apple not Android) - but with no recharging facilities in the seats - that's good for about a third of the journey.
I would have given it 1 star but the leg room was decent and the staff were efficient(ish).
Must be a strong contender for "The Worst Airline Ever" title.
Flew from Toronto to Manchester. The seats were so jammed in that it would be impossible to get a life vest from underneath. I am not a big man but the seat in front was so close the meal tray could not be lowered! My advice: AVOID Air Transat unless you are some sort of masochist.
Never again!!
Just returned from a Holiday in Canada, where we flew AirTransat.
Due to price these flights appear to get very busy and we made the mistake of not paying to pre-select our seats. So we struggled to get seats together but thanks to the Attendant on the checking desk.
However, once on the aircraft things went downhill fast! Our seats were next to the toilets, non reclining and as small asthe airlines are allowed to use!! This had to be the most uncomfortable 9 1/2 hours of my life!
During the flight if you want to watch the film then you need to make sure you have headphones, which are for sale on the flight. But if you don't carry a Credit Card then you wont be able to purchase anything during the flight!
On our flight the TV screens were down the centre of the aircraft and not in the back of the seats, which made viewing difficult.
On the flight to Calgary the flight attendants were very poor and they all seemed to spend their time the other side of the curtains in the upgraded seating area.
The flight back to Gatwick was better in this respect, with the attendants being friendly and attentive. However we appeared to be flying on the same aircraft as out, due to the poor seating, TV's down the middle and very aged looking fittings.
I will be paying more to fly next time, and flying with an airline that has larger seats and complementary drinks, food, blankets and headphones!
A great option for Canada
We flew to Canada with Air Transat last summer in their premium cabin which they call Club Class. It's not a business class product really - but better than premium economy in terms of seat pitch, catering and service. Great value for money considering - I would thoroughly recommend them. I believe since travelling with them that personal seat-back screens have been introduced throughout the aircraft.
