Beware I registered to buy online whilst I was watching it stated I had won bid on a van I wasn’t interested in. Contacted them to say what had happened they weren’t interested took my 500 deposit. I have found that if the bid screen is up there is no second confirmation to accept a bid so if you click it by moving you mouse accidentally it will bid.
Even asked if I could go live on next auction to see if I could buy something else but just said I would have to buy something before 17:30 that day.

I bid £1500 in a 10 year old van, when I came to pay it was £2300. The first I learned of the huge fees was when I came to pay. £500 fee on top of bid price. Despite walking around looking at vans with a 'spotter' and discussing my budget, the amount of fee was never mentioned. Fees are not shown on their website until you register AND pay a considerable deposit.
The £500 fee I paid would have been doubled if my van was ex-NHS.
When I asked what the huge fee was for, the lady said it's to ensure there is no outstanding finance etc. I said, a HPI check is £3 to do on my mobile.
If you are thinking of using Merthyr Motor Auctions ensure you are clear about the fees, they are certainly not forthcoming with them, you'll have to dig.
Until they show the fee's clearly on their website I will continue to spread the word. Merthyr Motor Auctions, please do the right thing and present your fees honestly and openly, on your website without people needing to register and pay first.

Very pleased with the van I bought. Always take a chance buying from auction but cannot fault it. Excellent communication from the company and easy transfer of ownership. Highly recommend.

I’ve got to admit I have bought three vehicles from Merthyr car auctions all went smoothly it’s a worrying time when you’re spending a lot of money particularly during lock down but I have to say they were fantastic helped in every way the last vehicle I bought was a large purchase could not get the paperwork for it So I could tax it but one phone call and Dean the owner sorted it out for me within one hour so I could come up and pick up my new vehicle I will Have no hesitation in purchasing my next vehicle from them thank you Dean and your team for a fantastic service look forward to seeing you in 2021

Being the first time I’ve brought at auction I was thoroughly impressed with the service offered! These guys were lightning fast to respond to my questions and queries. The online auction was easy to operate and the aftercare second to none. Payment, paperwork etc. All done within hours of the hammer falling.

First time using Merthyr Motor Auctions, very easy pleasant experience . I used the online auction which is very easy and friendly . All documents was send it to me in 30 min after auction . Collect van next day. Van as described in very good condition.Will definitely use them again.

Covid19 arrangements prevent attendance at the auction by members of the public, placing reliance entirely upon the information provided by the auctioneer. This consist of photos and once a £500 deposit has been paid, further information, which may include faults on the vehicle where known, but this cannot be relied upon, the auctioneer showing on the purchase invoice, WITHOUT WARRANTY-SOLD AS SEEN, but of course the buyer hasn’t seen!
A title indemnity fee is added to each purchase, there being two scales, one amounting to some 7% excluding Vat, and the other about twice that percentage, which together with Vat amounts to some 17% of bid price. I wasn’t able to discover the justification for there being two scales.
Auctioneer staff, without exception sounded helpful and friendly, and most matters raised were responded to speedily, providing a reassuring backdrop to auction procedures.
Merthyrs brochure says SAVE up to HALF THE GARAGE PRICE. If this can be achieved after taking the Title Indemnity fee, and any repair costs that might be required, which a test drive, or a mechanics report could reveal, good luck, you will have done better than me!

Great service. Found the vans cheaper than elsewhere and save some money. Gareth and Dean both very helpful in the office. Bid online collected and drove away safely. They had good covid measures in pace.

I would highly recommend MMA. I bought a Mercedes with the full service history. Dean Davies was very hospitable and very kind. It was great dealing with him. I highly recommend MMA to anyone looking for a single owner used vehicle.

I recently bought a vehicle which has some mechanical fault but cannot be returned because it is bought as seen. This is exploitation.
I give you one star

Wasn’t asked about the owner name and docs placed in my name.
Each vehicle should have a write up and more photographs. The headliner in the vehicle is wrecked.
The tailgate doesn’t lock and there is mould growing inside
The wheel arch is missing the liner and it would be prudent to have the MOT and service reports online for viewing.

As ever a great transaction and in the current climate everything done to ensure safety of all concerned

Still waiting for cheque to clear ask for a bank transport revived a cheque could take up to 4 weeks to clear. After paying cash won’t be using you again.

Great people to deal with nothing was to much trouble bought sprinter van £7500 80000 miles they sorted all paperwork and finance same day brilliant can’t fault anything
