Had a fantastic evening choosing a car
Had a fantastic evening choosing a car. Cafe was outstanding and all the staff were lovely. Dean and Owen were fantastic and helped me bid for my car. Was a bit apprehensive and first as being female with my daughter. But would definitely recommend buying cars this way as you get so much support and no pushy sales people and at a huge reduction in price. I will be going with my friend shortly for their car.

I have visited the auction twice recently and on the 2nd visit I purchased a small van for my business.
The staff were excellent, the auction ran quickly and efficiently and the van I purchased is 1st class.

Fantastic MMA
After reading a few negative reviews on Trustpilot I felt that I had to post a review about my recent purchase as it was the complete opposite to some other reviews. I've always been hesitant about buying from auctions so turned up at MMA with a negative mindset but after speaking to the boys about the vehicle I was interested in I was quickly pleased that I was in safe hands. The vehicle was direct fleet with full service history and MMA even gave me a warranty. Fantastic customer service from all that work there made purchasing the vehicle a simple and uncomplicated process. Would never hesitate again about going back to MMA. Good work guys!!

Stay away
Whatever you do, DO NOT use their "expert spotters". Ours bid upto our limit on a Fiat Doblo that in his words "made a whine that sounds like the power steering is gone", but he bid on it anyway. It wasn't the power steering, it was the alternator. We get the vehicle home to find the front spring has gone, but strangely it had managed to pass its MOT not long before the auction. Two weeks later the cable connecting the gearbox to the gearstick snapped. Do far I have a bill for £900 in the first month just to keep it on the road. The spotters are used to get shot of vehicle's that they can't sell to people that can physically get to the auction

Captivating camoervans
We went up to look at either converting a van to a camper or purchasing a van which had already been converted. We were met by friendly and knowledgeable staff who took the time to listen to our plans and show us a wide range of both converted vans and vans ready to be converted.
Ended up buying a converted van as the finish was awesome. We have had the van for a couple of months so far it it has been amazing.
I will definitely be going straight to Merthyr Motor Auction for my next car.

Enjoyed the experience of bidding on line, help was also on hand to give more information about selected vehicles.
Once the bid was placed we were able to see the other bids coming in so you really did feel in control!
Collected our vehicle the following day, everything was there when we arrived and left for home within the hour.

Vehicle has had a lot of issues…
Vehicle has had a lot of issues starting with driving it away and a lot of smoke bellowing out from the vehicle. Then three warning lights on the dash for the remainder of the journey. Currently vehicle has been in the garage for a week. Totally wrong that companies are allowed to sell something with so many issues and not highlight them prior to any sale.
Also as part of a misunderstanding the vehicle was paid for twice. Both electronic transfers. We are struggling to get our money back that was sent out via a cheque. What sort of organisation deals with cheques. Our money had to be sent electronic transfer for the purchase.
Totally dissatisfied with everything to do with the purchase and I will not be buying from auction again without first having some assurances the vehicle is ok.

Any vehicles with 'known' issues are always stated and made aware to all bidders. If a vehicle is left to stand, prior to arrival at auction or before collection, there is a possibility that smoke would bellow out as you put it. This could be solved by a simple drive to get any particulates out of the filter etc.
None of these issue were brought to our attention as we are more than willing to help customers.
With regards to the double payment you sent to us, we have refunded this by cheque and sent it recorded delivery to you.
We are always ready to help and spotters are on hand to answer any questions and help as best they can.

I Would highly recommend MMA
Bought a new car at MMA auctions. Great experience from start to finish. Saw them advertised everywhere to begin with and heard them on the radio so popped up to see what they had.
Greatt range of vans and cars and very helpful staff who looked after us when we arrived and spoke to us about the process of bidding and everything involved. Would highly recommend.
