Ive been paying 24$ cad for months…

Ive been paying 24$ cad for months without noticing.. and like everyone else is saying its sooo hard to unsubscribe. It took me 20 min to figure out how and i know my way around tech..

Super shady company do yourself a favor a do not subscribe to them!!

I love the audible app

I love the audible app. There are many options and a fantastic selection on audible plus. I am often surprised at the selection for audible. I do think the cost for 1 credit is high. Return S have been made a harder process than it used to be. I’m hesitant to return a book which makes me hesitant to use my one credit to purchase. Overall I’m happy with my audible subscription.

THEIVES!!!!

THEIVES!!!!! After cancelling and confirming I had, after the 1st free month, I then discovered this ‘company’ had been stealing my money for 5 months!!! Cancel??? Good luck!! I am very tech savvy, work with technology and took 20 minutes just to find how to cancel!! There is nothing worse, than companies who steal and make it impossible to cancel, god forbid someone of age who isn’t tech savvy wouldn’t like to be scammed by these

Impossible to unsubscribe

I try to unsubscribe they make it so difficult you can’t find where to go! I have once cancelled my subscription and suddenly a couple of months ago I see I have a credit so they reactivated my account ! Honestly saying this is stealing ! Their way of making money is through stealing from people! Just as it’s easy to activate my account without asking it should be easy to unsubscribe! They should be brought to justice! Just this makes the m millions every day! 😡🤬🤬

Highway Robbery

I have lost so many credits with this company. I think my grand total of lost/stolen credits is 9. Considering each credit is worth £8, that's £72 of purchases I have made from this company and got nothing in return. Update: I managed to retrieve 4 credits through the chat section on the app but still in a loss and still had to reactivate my membership. Credits get deleted if you cancel, which is unfair.

Before You Join, Make Sure You Can Unjoin

There are plenty of threads online complaining about how Audible makes it virtually impossible to cancel your subscription, mine included. I've had this with DAZN as well. Unless you don't value your time I would take a pass on this one.

I wish I could give this service zero stars. It is such a scam. You pay for books with credits but if you cancel, you lose all your unused credits. You also don’t have access to the books that you’ve already paid for.

I have been paying $16.18 a month for a…

I have been paying $16.18 a month for a year, I am an avid reader with 100's of books on Kindle. Since audible only gave 1 credit per month that means I am paying 16.18 for each audible book and I can actually buy them for around 7 dollars if i have the kindle book. I called to cancel today because there is no value in continuing their services. I was informed I had 9 credits, (I have been using an alexa reader for my kindle books) I said I want to keep the credits I have already paid for and they said nope! They are taking them away... I would be out of business if I treated my customers like that. Do yourself a favor and do not payvthe membership! Its a scam!

Absolutely sucks

Absolutely sucks.
For some unknown reason I just started getting ads on YouTube and today I had one from audible telling me how it was a new revenue stream for me. Lol. Anything that needs aggressive advertising like this generally sucks.

I think probably I will never ever pay for an audible membership, so I guess most other people will also never ever plan to pay for a membership. Therefore, how is this a revenue and stream for anyone.

If it was 10p per month I may consider it.

I would give Audible -5 stars

I would give this -5 stars, if I could. On July 11, 2024, November 11, 2024 and December 11, 2024, Audible.com charged my American Express card $15.85. I first saw the charge on July 12, 2024, and called to dispute the charge and inquire as to how they had the number, in the first place, as I have not had an Audible account since 2012 (which they verified). I was then asked if anyone else in my household had my card, or if I had given permission to use my card to anyone, and I responded, "NO." I live alone, and NO ONE has authorization to use my card for Audible, or any other purchases.

The customer service rep I spoke with on July 12 eventually agreed to reverse the charge and stated that he would "make sure this does not happen again," but it did. On November 11, 2024, the same charge appeared on my AmEx statement and again, I was given the runaround by the CSR at Audible, who refused to credit my account, and refused to refund the charge. I contacted AmEx to report the charge as fraud after my unsuccessful tries with Audible to get the mystery account canceled and have my card removed from the system.

On December 11, 2024, I received YET ANOTHER Audible.com charge for the same amount, and when I called Audible to complain, I spoke to representative Dane, who was completely unhelpful. He verified that my account has been canceled since 2012, he confirmed that my card was in use on someone else's account but would not tell me what account, he acknowledged that I did not authorize the charges, but refused to escalate the issue and stated that if I want to speak with someone else, I would have to hang up and call back. Not only is this rude and patronizing, it is a blatant refusal to assist with clear fraud.

I contacted AmEx, who is issuing a new card, and I have placed a block on my account from ANY charges being processed in the future from Amazon and Audible. It is a complete disgrace that I have had to spend hours of my life on the phone and experiencing the inconvenience of getting a new card (while unable to use the current one) because Audible is willing committing credit card fraud and refuses to help. I am certain that there is another class action lawsuit in their future, based on the number of other people from all over North America who have complained about this on reddit. Something needs to be done about this, immediately.

Good UI, not so good pricing!

While I do enjoy the overall app UI (quite simple) and I am a religious ebook reader, I do not like the pricing policy in place. Very difficult to cancel (only through web platform) and once you try to cancel than suddenly you are offered a lot more attractive prices.

If you use it, would suggest to try to cancel to get a better deal from them for 6 months.

Couldn't Log in for months...

whenever i try to log in it says "contact customer service" and when you click to do that it says "log in to contact us" .. I'm a paying member.. I can't log in from my laptop and it's been months.

I cancelled this service over 6 months…

I cancelled this service over 6 months ago, but since I've have had attempted auto renews 3 times - each time it's taken a 15 minute phone call to get it cancelled. Feels like a way to get extra money out of you as it takes 1 week to get the money back. Terrible scam like practices from what used to be a a good company.

Their subscriptions are a scam. Beware.

I am giving them 2 stars rather than 1 because in the right conditions they are merely mediocre instead of terrible. Do not sign up for subscriptions. Their subscriptions are a scam, but if you buy a book and pay upfront every time, they are okay because you don't need customer service for that

I did purchase a subscription approximately 1 year ago, and I was to receive 3 book credits per month as a part of my subscription. I only noticed after several months that I only got the 3 book credits the first time and I received nothing afterwards, and their customer service people have never responded, and I had to cancel the card that I gave to them.

Go to Spotify instead

I’d used Audible for years but began to have problems downloading books and getting an error message saying titles were not available in my geography. Which they were. Ongoing technical issue with Audible which means I can’t download anything and hours of time wasted on customer service chats with useless information.

Go to Spotify instead. It’s so much better.

Avoid at all cost.

It’s hard to believe after reading all of these negative comments that this is one of Audibles mission statements - “We work ceaselessly to hear the voices of our customers—to listen for them even when they aren’t speaking to us directly”. A payment was taken from my account without authority. I have written and called customer service on numerous occasions with no joy. I would avoid this company at all cost. Senior management at Audible and the founder Don Katz obviously aren’t bothered by these reviews. There are much better audible book companies available who value their customers. I recommend using them instead.
