After suffering for a very long time…
After suffering for a very long time with my knees, lower back and hips my Physio recommended i book an appointment to get my insoles re checked by someone he trusted a great deal.
I had previously had insoles made just 6 months before and so thought this wouldn't have been the issue.
Although my knees had previously only hurt when squatting and running they had now got to the stage where just walking was causing me incredible pain!
My lower back seemed to hurt all the time.
Lindsay did an assessment/gate scan and diagnosed me with a huge difference in leg length.
She then ordered me some insoles which have been nothing short of life changing.
Although it took me a little while to get used to them i am now doing everything in the gym i found problematic before and i literally have no back, hip or knee pain.
Can't recommend Axis Podiatry enough!
Thank you!

Very friendly and professional.
I first met Lindsey some years ago following spinal surgery and needed orthotics as part of my recovery. I recently revisited her, as time marches on and my feet were giving me pain throughout the day and sometimes into the night.
I am not an athlete by any stretch of the imagination but do enjoy hill walking and this pain was stoping me carry on with this hobby.
It was easy to book a consultation and the Chorley office / gym easy to find. Lindsey is totally professional in her dealings with clients. She had my previous records and after taking a thorough history of my aches and pains and putting my feet and ankles through a range of movements I was asked to walk over the computerised gait analyser. This is easy to do and she was immediately able to compare my current readings with my previous ones.
After some analysis and discussion I was given some exercises to do and have arranged for some new orthotics.
The whole experience was pleasant and painfree. I would recommend this service to anyone who wants the best for their feet, ankles, legs and back.
Fantastic service and expert knowledge…
Fantastic service and expert knowledge from Dr Lindsay Hill. After many years and even more miles in my original orthotics – Lindsay has cast her magic again and built me a fresh set to once again help me stand up straight and even, whilst giving my old set a full refurb. A touch of a ‘biomechanical irregularity’ has left me prone to back and hip soreness: Lindsay has helped ease that for years with her in-shoe wonders. I put my orthotics through the mill with daily use in all activities: general walking, mountaineering and more lately, weights. Quality product will stand up to deadlifts and squats. With these orthotics, my knees and back will too….
If you’ve realised the truth that it’s never too late to sort your posture – Dr Lindsay is the one to help you out…
Thanks, Lindsay.
Total star.
Total professional.
Totally recommended.
Amazing, thank you!
Lindsay has helped our family so much! Our two girls now wear orthotics as they were complaining of pain in their feet, legs and ankles. Occasionally, my eldest daughter would also go over on her ankle when walking and running, causing her discomfort. Since wearing their orthotics each day, they no longer have any pain as their feet are supported during the activities and sport they love to do.
For years, I knew I also needed orthotics, but never quite got around it. I suffered from pain in my lower back and legs. If I had known how amazing they were, I would have seen Lindsey years earlier as she found that my feet roll inwards which explained the pain. Wearing orthotics now prevents this, providing support for playing netball and running - with no pain!! After wearing my new custom-made orthotics for a short time, the pain in my lower back and ankles stopped. Thank you Lindsay!!
Lindsay and her magic orthotics got me…
Lindsay and her magic orthotics got me back running in no time after a long lay-off with a foot injury. Fantastic. Really knows her stuff.
superb attention to detail and…
superb attention to detail and professionalism. I do not need a surgical procedure now I have my orthotics, I would recommend Lindsay extremely highly.
During the early months of 2017 I…
During the early months of 2017 I managed (I thought) to sprain my left ankle, turning my left foot into the bottom stair where there was nowhere else to go whilst carrying my grandson. This injury did not improve with the application of RICE and would give way when I thought it was mended during a none competitive game of tennis when moving to play.
I attended my GP who referred me to the local hospital in July, I attended the physiotherapy department where I was given strengthening and balance exercises together with a vague diagnosis, there was no improvement .
Frustration got the better of me and I decided to see a consultant privately who had the ankle MRI scanned, as a result of the scan I was referred to Axis Podiatry and Dr Lindsay Hill. Towards the end of September 2017 I attended to see Lindsay who stated I possibly had impingement of the ankle ligaments with a bit of peroneal tendon overuse, I had a gait scan analysis and Dr Hill stated the problem could possibly be corrected by a pair of individually made inserts resulting from the gait scan analysis.
At the end of October2017 I again attended and saw Lindsay who fitted the inserts into my trainers, I have used them continually since that time and there has been no reoccurrence of my foot giving way.
I am now running and playing tennis with confidence in my ankle something I had visions I would not be doing again. I am extremely grateful to Dr Hill whose positive direct approach to my problem which has resulted in an extension to my athletic activities and fitness.
Fantastic podiatrist!!
I have suffered with hypermobile feet and neuroma pain for years and visited countless different podiatrists including private and NHS before finally being recommended by my foot surgeon, Mr A L Murphy at Euxton Hall Hospital, to Lindsay at Axis podiatry. I have wasted my time with bulky NHS insoles that did not fit into any of my shoes (including trainers) and also hundreds of pounds buying insoles from these other podiatrists not to mention left feeling like an annoyance as I continued to suffer with the pain. It was only when I came to see Lindsay that I finally was properly assessed with a computerised gait scan and was given a suitable pair of insoles that work for me, my lifestyle and my shoes. She totally understood me and never made me feel like I was a pain when I had to go back for a couple of adjustments. I definitely recommend Lindsay to anyone suffering with foot pain.
A very happy client...
I'm not a short lad and had an active physical job for 40 years with the inevitable result of becoming a chronic back sufferer. During this period I was referred to all the usual health care consultants. My final appointment, with an Orthopaedic consultant, wasn’t very forthcoming. I was informed there was nothing else that could be done except operate and that was inadvisable (I was still young). It was added that I should seek out ‘alternative medicine’ for a ‘nothing to lose’ try out.
I was recommended to try acupuncture and painkillers. Neither worked. I found the only thing that had any success was my local Chiropractor. A twice-yearly session of a massage followed immediately by a chiropractic session did the trick and I was good for work again. After 10 years of this, I found myself again in lots of pain only this time the chiropractor treatment didn’t work and they referred me for a private digital x-ray where it was discovered I had one hip lower than the other causing my whole body to be out of line.
The chiropractor didn’t think he could help me anymore. After a short period of increasing pain, I found I couldn’t bend down far enough to cut my own toenails so I rang my nearest Podiatrist to book in. Dr. Lindsay was that Podiatrist and she explained she was a Ph.D. in podiatry and enquired what the problem was? After I briefly explained she informed me this sounds exactly like what she wrote her Ph.D. paper on and would I come for an assessment? After a 45 min chat and assessment on her machine the results were positive. She told me that I did indeed have a problem that she could probably help me with. She accurately measured me up for left and right shoe inserts which were to be made in Canada.
I received the inserts 2 days ago. I thought it was going to be like walking with a stone in your shoe-It wasn’t. They were so comfy! In 24 hours I went from not being able to walk 50 feet without excruciating pain to a 1-mile walk around a local park. Easy does it now and ready to make a recovery. I never considered electing to see a Podiatrist to fix back pain but not being a medical person you wouldn’t would you?
I found out by Serendipity-a happy accident. It would have been nice to find the possibility of a pain-free back be suggested at an earlier stage. This is the reason for my review. If you have back problems and need alternative therapy consider Axis Podiatry. Everyone is individually treated and assessed.
They get my vote.

Amazing Service
I cannot thank Lindsay enough. I went to see her in desperation as I was really struggling with my running. Despite spending a fortune of good running shoes I found running hard and painful and I always seemed to have injuries. I was at the stage where I was seriously considering giving up running, my half marathon times were getting slower not faster due to foot pain and injury.
However thanks to Lindsay I am now running pain free, faster and much happier. My orthotics have made an amazing difference. In one appointment Lindsay identified what was wrong and rectified it. I would highly recommend her. She provides a professional, skilled and knowledgeable service.
FIRST CLASS SERVICE!!
FIRST CLASS SERVICE!!! I have an unexplainable painful injury to the ball of my right foot, since having the insoles the pain is next to none and i can even go on long walks again, Lindsay was very helpful and even recommend websites to shop for the right 'walking shoe/trainer'. Would Highly Recommend!!! Thanks
Amazing service from Lindsay at Axis…
Amazing service from Lindsay at Axis podiatry. Long standing triathlon injuries all sorted after a visit and orthotics she prescribed. Convenient weekend appointment and very professional and thorough follow up care and advice. Highly recommended
Highly recommended specialist podiatrist
After being diagnosed with a pre-hammer toe and having had a steroid injection, my consultant recommended I visit Lindsay at Axis Podiatry. I had a gait scan done and she assessed my needs for future pain free walking and exercising with an orthotics prescription. Since wearing these in my everyday shoes for the last 12 months I have been completely pain free. I am now ordering a second pair as they are part of my everyday life. Lindsay has been so helpful with advice on correct footwear. She always answers any questions immediately and explains everything to you in a very understanding way. I would highly recommend anyone to visit her.
I struck gold the day I met Lindsay Hill
I have had foot pain for a while and the only solution recommended from an orthopaedic referral was for surgery which sounded grim and was not even a guaranteed solution. Although I am no athlete I need to run so was desperate to find a better cure. I was recommended to visit Lindsay who is delightful. She had empathy and sympathy for my problem, at last someone who not only understood but could help. She carried out a full gait analysis and bio-mechanical assessment which showed the need for orthotics to remove the foot pain I was experiencing on walking and especially running. The orthotics took a bit of getting used to but the pain relief was instant and it became only a discomfort which is disappearing as I continue to use the orthotics all the time. Lindsay is incredibly patient and thorough and her follow up care is attentive and encouraging. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone with foot/back pain.
Excellent and treatment that works
I have been receiving advice and treatment from Axis Podiatry for in excess of 10 years and have been cured of chronic achilles tendon pain. As always I recently received detailed and in depth assessments and now await supply of my new insoles.
Both the clinics in Salford and Wilmslow are a pleasure to attend.

Fantastic Service
I went to see Lindsay after suffering with pain in my feet. After a full assessment she ordered my Orthotics. They are really comfy to wear (which I wasn't expecting) and have made a big difference not only to my feet but the little niggling pains I would often get at the bottom of my back. I wouldn't be without them now. Thanks Lindsay
EXCELLENT
EXCELLENT.
i have been to Axis Podiatry for a number of years now and can't fault Lindsay one bit, she explains everything in a clear understandable way so you know whats going on with your feet. I have been to a far more expensive podiatrist who did not come close to the service or quality that Lindsay provides.
I would recommend Axis Podiatry to everyone and anyone.
Finally pain free
I was referred to Lindsay by an old friend who recommended for insoles having suffered with compartment syndrome from military service. Lindsay is very professional and listens to your problem. i have had the pleasure of chatting to Lindsay on a few occasions and a number of insoles from her. In the Three years since I had my insoles made, Ive run been pain free. I use them in all my shoes if I can and run for hours in them.
Recommend Axis Podiatry
Recommend to Axis Podiatry (Lindsay) through PT because of lower back pain caused by fallen arches within my feet which was being made worse by undertaking various sports and general gym exercising. I visited Lindsey and she provided me with a set of custom of orthotics which I now use everyday within my trainers and my lower back pain has completely disappeared. Great professional service , that impress with the orthotics I have actually ordered a second everyday pair. I would have no hesitation in recommending Aixs Podiatry.
Highly Recommended - Thanks Lindsay
I visited Axis Podiatry in April this year, after having issues with my feet and a Morton's neuroma in my left foot (which has now been resolved).
Lindsay did a full Biochemical Assessment & Gait Analysis I was prescribed a customer made pair of orthotics, which have made a world of difference.
I can without doubt Highly Recommend Axis Podiatry (Lindsay) for the knowledge and professional advise I received.
