We recently purchased from Bargate in the Herons Quarter site. The staff were excellent throughout, both knowledgeable and constantly helpful and flexible.

We’re now moved in and the ongoing support and customer care is spot on!

Callum in particular was super helpful, and certainly knows his stuff when it comes to new builds!

Callum, Zoe and Maddie at the Herons Quarter sales show home and office have been outstanding. From the first time we considered buying a Bargate home through to move day every request was dealt with and exceeded. Customer service at its highest level. As we settle into our home the Bargate quality still continues with excellent post-move care. Thank-you to you all.

We’ve never moved into a new build before so this was our first experience. I have to say the guys at Bargate Homes have been amazing from initial interest and sales right through to home induction and post-completion support. We’ve dealt mainly with Jonathan, Tony and Victoria who have all been great, responsive and friendly. The spec of the house is also if a really high standard and although we’ve only moved in 3 weeks ago, already feel settled and happy with our purchase.

2nd time of posting, after Bargate had my review removed ! Saying it had harmful and illegal content. This is a true account and review of this company !!!
Just another reason to stay clear of this company.

They will lie to you about pretty much everything. Sales will agree to do anything, then not deliver on their word. Workmanship is poor across all trades. The unwillingness to accept responsibility for anything is truly unbelievable !
Around 450 snags in a brand new house ! This is after their website states ‘if it’s not good enough for our house, it’s not good enough for yours’ They ‘claim’ to have a quality control sign off, then a directors sign off ! Either these two people are completely blind, or they have absolutely no idea what they are looking at ?!
How can paintwork be snagged with an ‘x’ written in pencil, then it passes their quality control ?! Only for us to see numerous ‘x’s around the property on the day we move in. They don’t follow Premier Guarantee’s spec, and don’t want to bring defects up to the required standard. Premier are just as bad, they’re supposed to be neutral, but from my experience, they will change their mind for an easy life, and side with the builder ! Certainly not looking out for the customer what so ever !
No wonder certain builders use Premier, it’s quite literally a license to do whatever you want.
All the above is my own personal opinion, obviously.
Lastly, rather than sort out all the issues round a table, with us, like a responsible, customer friendly company, Bargate have now refused to talk to us, and now all future correspondence has to be made through their solicitor !
Maybe Bargate should go into politics ? I think they’d fit in nicely, with what they tell you, and what they actually do !
This post could have been so much longer, with all the failings as a company, but I really can’t be bothered wasting anymore time with this two faced company. You have been warned !!!
Finally, don’t think that you have ANY cover whatsoever from Premier Guarantee ! They will do ANYTHING to get out of actually sorting an issue, they will side with the developer, and leave you high and dry. We just tried contacting them about some extract ducting from our wc. The outside grille was fixed with just white silicone to the brickwork, the ducting run was only 900mm max, but I ended up pulling 1,500mm excess out of the wall ! The core holes slope upwards through the brickwork, so any water that makes its way into the ducting, will make its way into the fan itself. We’ve raised the issue with Bargate and their solicitor, who are both still ignoring our emails. So glad we wasted our time and money with Bargate ! They are definitely not the company they used to be.

In the process of buying a house and can only give top marks for the professionalism and helpfulness from Victoria and Tony today.

We've been in our Bargate Home nearly 3 years, so the perfect time to review this company. The purchase experience was a mixed bag. On the plus side we were sent regular progress updates including images, which were very useful as we were living approx 140 miles away. We were also invited to see the house at first and second fix stages which was also very helpful.
As this was the first time we had purchased a new home we had lots of questions some of which the sales team seemed to find annoying, especially when we questioned how much the maintenance fees would rise by each year as we had read many articles about how hedge funds had been investing in these companies as a new revenue stream and some developments weren't being completed properly with road and drainage problems and we just wanted reassurances that Bargates Management companies would be trustworthy.
We were also living in a holiday home with our furniture in storage at the time as we had been pushed into completing on our own home so we didn't lose our sale.
We had our final viewing about 4 weeks before our estimated completion date and the house was finished except for the garden, so we were surprised when a week later we were told that our completion date was going to be moved back by around 3-6 weeks, which we couldn't understand and when we contacted the sales team, they were very unhelpful telling us that this could be pushed back even further as per their terms. This was very stressful as we would have to vacate the holiday home as the owners were going to carry our some maintenance work. Fortunately the next time we contacted the Bargate sales team about our situation we spoke to Charlie, who very helpful and told us he would explain our situation to the management and try to make sure we were able to move in before we had to vacate the holiday home. About 2 weeks later we we're contacted by Bargate to inform us they we would be completing on our original date!!!!
Moving in day was also quite stressful as we were trying to do the walk around where you are supposed to spot any snagging issues and other faults, while the removal company were waiting on the doorstep. This walk around is basically to make sure you sign off before moving any furniture into your home and any damage this may cause. My advice would be to make sure you move your furniture in during the afternoon or the next day, so you don't end up rushing the walk around.
We have had many snagging issues over the past few years which 95% have been dealt with to our satisfaction. Jess who has been our contact at Customer care has been very helpful and polite while dealing with our issues. The only issue that has been ongoing and will never be sorted out is the rainwater that enters under our garage door, Bargate fitted a rubber seal (which we had to purchase) under the door, which hasn't solved the problem due to the lintel that the door is fixed to not being level, fortunately the garage is not joined to the property.
The only reason I am able to give four stars is the excellent Customer Care Operatives namely Mark, Dan & Paul who are always punctual and carry out their work to a high standard and are a pleasure to be around, its a real shame the contractors employed by Bargate don't work to the same standards.
In general we are very happy with our home, which has been well designed and the development, which is well laid out.
Unfortunately parking around the development has been a problem and even though there are two good sized visitor parking areas and lay-bys, people still park on the streets, which according to the covenants everyone signed is prohibited.
Also Vivid who are responsible to repairs on the social housing parts of the development have allowed brocken windows in the flats to go unrepaird for weeks, which is visually unacceptable.

Absolutely thrilled with our recent home purchase in Herons Quarter. From start to finish, the experience was smooth and exciting. The moment we stepped into the house, we knew it was what we were looking for. We are also amazed at the quality of everything and those little extra touches.

The process itself was surprisingly stress-free, thanks to the amazing sales team Callum, Maddie and Zoe! Basically… the A-Team and an absolute credit to Bargate, nothing was inconvenient and we were immediately made to feel part of the Bargate family. They were knowledgeable, responsive, and always available to answer any questions I had, making the entire process feel seamless.

Now, we just settling in (day 2) and make this house truly feel like home. Highly recommend taking the plunge if you’re considering buying – the right home is worth the effort!

We’re currently in the process of buying our first home at Heritage Place with Bargate Homes, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience so far. As first-time buyers, the process initially felt overwhelming, but Tony has been absolutely fantastic every step of the way. He’s been incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and supportive, making sure we feel confident and informed throughout the journey.

Recently moved into our new home at the Rivercross development and are absolutely delighted. From the moment we first looked at the show home and spoke to Zoe we knew we wanted to live here. All the Sales Team have been fantastic- Callum, Maddie & Zoe, we can’t praise them highly enough. Our experience in buying our new home has been easy and a pleasure. On the odd occasion when we wanted something changed or required additional information on the status of our new home, nothing was too much trouble for them as they are extremely helpful and genuinely care about the customer service that they provide. This can also be said for the whole of Bargate Homes.

Great experience with the Bargate Homes sales team. Jonathon and Tony were excellent in giving weekly updates and answering any questions we had. Seamless move in experience helped the stress of moving just before Christmas! Would recommend.

People always say buying a house is one of the most stressful events in your life, with Bargate Homes this whole process has been seamless. Jonathan, Tony and Victoria are a great team who have gone above and beyond to assist with our questions and queries - always very promptly and sometimes even out of hours. We are currently waiting for our house to complete at Heritage Place, everything about the property is stunning - beautifully designed and well built. Both my husband and I are in the construction industry and we wouldn't recommend a building company unless we truly meant it. I can honestly say the construction team, the sales team and other departments we have dealt with over the course of the build have been brilliant, we can't wait make our house a home.

From the beginning, the Bargate Homes Team was very friendly and helpful providing details about the properties (Jonathan, Seth & Victoria at Heritage Place).

Then once the property was reserved and purchase agreed, the Sales Team was great at providing updates on a weekly basis with pictures of the progress and prompt responses to any queries.

Another key point was the good experience with the choices appointment to pick the personalised options and finishes to enhance our home (Tamsin was very helpful) with a very high quality materials.

Just over 1 month living in our new home and it feels great, with a personalised new home demonstration session when they handed over the keys (completion).

Lisa and Ashlea-Fleur from Customer Service have been very supportive and quick to reply for any details we have found.

So far, very happy with Bargate Homes and would recommend them over any competitors.

The sales team was helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. They were also supportive on the day we moved in and were on hand to answer questions. Both Jonathan and Tony were helpful and supportive.
There were things that could have been better but all fairly minor, including the home demonstration, where the information didn't reflect the actual property. A list of snags that we are in the process of resolving but nothing that can't be sorted.

This was our first step on the property ladder and the whole process was made very smooth by Bargate homes. Jonathan emailed us weekly updates on the progress of the house. Any questions we had about the development he was quick to answer. Nina gave us a very detailed home demonstration a week before we moved in. We were made to feel very comfortable and no question felt like a stupid question. Tony was great to deal with on the exchange day he helped us with all our questions and was happy to support with anything we we were not sure of. Moving house can be a stressful time however this was very made very easy by all the team.

Moving house after relocating from another region is never easy. Since our first visits to the area before moving from the Northeast, we were very well received by the Sales Team.
It's been a long journey that recently came to the so anticipated completion stage. Victoria, Seth, Jonathan and Tony were there for us every step of the way showing us the houses, explaining everything in detail, answering our questions, handling the negociation and taking our requests to head office.
I've dealt with house purchases before and I can say that we were really fortunate to be taken care by this special (and also very patient) team!
