Horrific experience with Battens Yeovil.
I had the experience of having to go to court with Battens who were at one point my representatives and became 'the other side'.
The sheer arrogance of the representatives of this law firm is staggering!!
Absolute lack of attention to detail verging on laziness.
They made every step of the way difficult and drawn out. In correspondence they were dismissive and rude.
In receiving disclosure it became apparent that they purposefully withheld information and then 'found' it.
I would advise STRONGLY in never having anything to do with Battens particularly in dealing with and inheritance matters. I have looked into how they manage trusts and estates and how they make accounts and non-filing of accounts and it's questionable to say the least.

Michelle at Battens was very helpful during my personal injury claim. She answered all my questions, explained the process and got the desired result. I would recommend her to anyone!

We recently used Battens Solicitors in the selling of one house and the buying of another. There was an extremely tight deadline and they worked tirelessly to get the sale through on time. Communication was great - consistent, professional and friendly. The handwritten Christmas cards from the teams were a really lovely touch. We would definitely recommend Battens to friends and family and would use them again in the future.

Used Ross Sivyter and his team at least 5 times now for our various house sales and purchases, including my sons 1st purchase.
This was one of the most stressful house sales I have ever experienced. The buyer and solicitor did not help matters is all I can say.
Ross and his team went above and beyond to keep everything on track, and worked tirelessly to make sure we got our sale through before Christmas. Completion Friday 13th December.

Michelle Roberts was my solicitor and kept me informed every step of the way on the purchase of my flat.
There were times that I didn’t Understand certain information Michelle took time to go through paperwork with me and put it in Leman terms.

Bridport Office. So there I was in the waiting room with my declaration and proof of ID, 5 mins early for my appointment to sign the declaration. Anticipated to take 2 minutes. The receptionist came down and said the solicitor had to go to Dorchester for a more important appointment. She hadn’t yet left but refused to see me. “Could you come back at 4:30?”. Another appointment was made.
4:15 I rang to check and the receptionist said she would ring me. That was the last I heard from them.I was only in town that one day and had kicked around waiting for that specific appointment. Truly disgraceful behaviour from that office.

It is true I am not a client but an appointment WAS made, I was in their waiting room office. If i didn’t have an appointment why did your receptionist let me in and sit me down in the waiting room? Someone in the Bridport office is lying to you.

Excellent service. We used Battens, Bridport office, for our house sale and purchase. Nicola and her assistant Clare were always available. They were friendly, helpful, efficient and kept us fully informed. Would definitely recommend.

Avoid them like the plague. They baffle you with information to make you feel like they know what they’re talking about. All the while they charge you an absolute fortune just to send an email. I was trying to reclaim money from a movie producer who would not show me any evidence of anything to do with the film. All battens did was email the guy asking him to show me, when he refused to stop replying they did nothing about it. When I refused to pay the extortionate high bill of £900 for sending about five emails. They took me to small claims . I’d already paid them hundreds of pounds to look into the matter for me. Honestly, when I started questioning their ability to do the job, they stopped responding but yet carried on billing. Choose any other solicitor and you will get a better experience.

Clare and her associates were very good, when we needed advise, after our buyers pulled out. We have used Battens for several moves and the have always been very good.

I used Battens Yeovil conveyance team for a recent house purchase. Tina and Cathy were a dream to work with. They kept me in the picture at all times, answered any query I had very quickly and helped keep the stress level to a minimum. This is the second time I have used Battens for a house move (first time many years ago) and would absolutely use them again. Very highly recommended for service, efficiency and value.

Jen Haynor has been amazingly helpful when purchasing our first home. Jen was responsive, attentive and had great all round communication. Our experience with Battens was easy because of this, and the purchase of our property was fast and efficient.

Very inadequate service, characterised by extensive delays and a clear lack of attention being paid to our case. The end result was that we ended up behind where we started with the matter having accrued a significant cost with Battens. All very disappointing and would not recommend them to anyone.

Jen Haynor at Battens Yeovil, has dealt with our last two property sales and purchases, and I would never use anyone else for conveyancing.
She is responsive, professional, and always helpful and accommodating, going the extra mile when those inevitable curved balls arrive!
Whilst we don't intend moving for quite some time now, when we do, we would have no hesitation in using Jen again, and would highly recommend.
