Review based on single oven

I'm writing this review based on a year's use. The temperature guage is absolutely hopeless. For example if you set it to 180 (all as the instructions) it will then after 10 minutes jump to 220, consequently if you're cooking you need to stand over the controls to reset, time and time again. In the end I got so fed up with this inefficient oven I've dumped it and bought another brand. I certainly would not recommend these ovens.

Aggressive upselling of insurance when i just want to get broken hob mended

A hob on the range cooker has broken. I contacted the after sales repair centre - both times I spoke with people who aggressively tried to up-sell insurance that I didn't want, and when I challenged them on that they were abrasive and dismissive. Finally couldn't even get anyone to my area and said it would take up to 48 hours for someone to contact me, let alone come and mend it. Unpleasant experience and all felt very untrustworthy.

Don't buy a Baumatic! Replacing a cooker hood bulb will cost you!!

I can't give it less than one star otherwise I would. I would never buy a Baumatic Cooker hood ever again. Why? Because you need to be aware that if a bulb goes in this unit it will cost in excess of £40 (2025) for a replacement and then you will need to pay an electrician double that to install it as the plug to replace the bulb is in behind the extractor fan and needs to be removed before you can change the light fitting. Avoid anything Baumatic and buy something that has easily replaceable bulbs!!!!!

Yet another disgusted customer of…

Yet another disgusted customer of Baumatic / Hoover scam. The 5 year Parts warranty is worthless as the part must be fitted by one of their engineers which you must pay for call out and fitting. The part for mine costs £20 and is simple to fit but to pay for the call out and fitting means they just recoup the part costs from you via fitting... its a scam and the warranty is worthless. last time I buy one of their products for property redevelopments.
This is what Google AI says about them
Baumatic has developed a poor reputation over the years for several reasons, primarily related to product reliability, customer service, and build quality. While some users have had positive experiences, many have reported frequent issues with Baumatic appliances. Here are some of the main complaints:

1. Poor Build Quality & Durability
Many users find Baumatic appliances—especially ovens, dishwashers, and washing machines—prone to breakdowns within a short time.

Cheap components and poor assembly can lead to faulty wiring, overheating, or parts wearing out too quickly.

2. Frequent Technical Faults
Common problems include:

Ovens not heating properly or developing electrical issues.

Dishwashers leaking or failing to clean dishes effectively.

Fridges having temperature control problems, leading to spoiled food.

Washing machines breaking down or failing to drain water properly.

3. Awful Customer Service
Many customers report that Baumatic’s customer support is slow, unhelpful, and difficult to reach.

Repairs under warranty often take weeks or even months.

Some customers have been charged high fees for repairs, even when the product was supposed to be covered by the warranty.

4. Expensive Repairs & Lack of Spare Parts
Baumatic appliances are often difficult to repair, and spare parts are hard to find or overpriced.

Some engineers refuse to work on Baumatic products due to their reputation for faulty components.

5. Hit-or-Miss Performance
Some Baumatic products work fine initially but decline in performance within a couple of years.

Temperature inconsistencies in ovens, water leakage in dishwashers, and frequent error codes on washing machines are commonly reported.

6. Brand Reputation & Ownership Changes
Baumatic was an independent UK brand but was acquired by Hoover Candy Group in 2013.

After the takeover, some improvements were made, but the brand never fully recovered from its bad reputation.

Is Baumatic Worth It?
👉 If you're looking for a cheap, short-term solution, Baumatic might seem tempting. But for long-term reliability, most people recommend sticking with brands like Bosch, Siemens, Miele

Bought a dishwasher from AO in 2021…

Bought a dishwasher from AO in 2021 have had two hoses fail on the inlet and drain underneath at 3 yrs & 4 yrs old due to the rubber melting it's all soft like jelly. I got it change by my local engineer due to the age of the machine, he said he's never seen anything like it. I have contacted Baumatic which haven't replied to my message, I know It's only week since I messaged but based on the reviews best flag, as I imagine other owners are having the same issue with products not fit for use. It will flood your kitchen! It's now the 19th of March and no reply to my review or my online communcation... You deserve the reviews you are getting!!!

Useless low quality brand…

If I could give no stars for this garbage dishwasher brand then I would. I received the first machine via AO (equally garbage) and it didn't work. After much effort and it being condemned by an engineer I received a replacement thinking lightning could not strike twice but it did. Another engineer visit confirmed the replacement machine was equally as useless as the first and that he would report it as such. Then got an e mail saying "we are pleased that we got your machine working" but they hadn't. Then the calls start. 3 way call with AO also on the line, going nowhere telling me it worked despite me being stood in front of it. When I asked AO to speak with a supervisor, I was informed.."no point as you will get the same answer". I pointed out that this contradicts any reasonable complaints procedure if she was telling me that everyone will give the same answer and that those answers can be predicted via preceding colleagues. The saga continues but my advice is don't buy Hoover, Candy, Baumatic and don't use AO

Poor reliability/poor service

New appliances in a new build house. Dishwasher detergent dispenser failed within two years of very light use, one hob ring ignitor has failed, also with very light use. Baumatic 'service' dept want £160 call out and a minimum of £80 if they do not fix it! Rubbish appliances. Buy something different, we will be.

Terrible

My baumatic dishwasher is terrible, firstly the practicality of the design is wrong, the cutlery basket is at the back and so awkward to load, the construction of the plate holder prongs are flimsy, the machine cannot complete a cycle, so the dishes finish half rinsed so you need to reset a independent rinse. Everything finishes off wet so you have to tea towel everything when the cycles over. I am going to replace this useless machine ! I have just ordered a new Smeg dishwasher, I am never buying a Baumatic product again

Don't buy one

My oven has always annoyed me - dials are almost impassible to read and the internal set up is not really user friendly. But to be told that parts are no longer available for this oven after only 11 years is totally unacceptable. Basics like elements in ovens should be easy to replace. Don't buy one.

They Don't Care About Their Customers

Recently tried to contact Baumatic to get some information about an old fridge freezer model that i'm looking to repair or replace. Despite multiple attempts to contact them through their website, they have not responded once. I even tried to contact their parent company - No response. They do not care about their customers, or their products once sold. I will never purchase anything from them or their other associated brands again.

Baumatic Do not deserve to be in business

I have now had two experiences with Baumatic, Australia, and their service entity, Dimplex, and found them sadly lacking in all categories. My first experience was with a Dimplex Fire which went faulty just outside the warranty period Dimplex would not fix it themselves, but instead gave me the numbers of five other companies, all of whom said they could not help. So the expensive fire became junk.
Last month my combined fitted microwave/grill/oven from Baumatic failed, again just outside of warranty. The service company provided on the Baumatic brochure initially said they would repair it for a fixed price of $165, then called back to say they could not, because they only handle repairs under warranty. They then provided me with the names of two other companies, who estimated more than $600 to repair. Because this is part of a fitted kitchen, I decided to replace it with an identical model to tie in with the Baumatic fan oven below it, in appearance. Baumatic no longer supply that model, and did not reply to any of my emails. I did find one “As new” model on eBay for $3000. Baumatic and Dimplex do not deserve to be in business. Buy their products at your peril.

Hoover CEO fobbed off email, no replacement or free repair after 6 months operation. No consideration of a cancer patient with no cure!

Purchase a wine cooler last year to await a kitchen refurb. Fitted March this year, failed after 6 months of operation. I emailed the CEO, as usual he fobbed it off one of the wider team. They did not want to know, and despite my wife having incurable cancer which I explained they said sorry you bought it over 12 months ago so it is out of warranty. They ungenerously offerd to pay 50% of the repair, which would cost us £72, and if any other compenent failed we would have to pay. Appalling customer service from Hoover Candy who own the brand, and the CEO should hold his dead in shame at our treatment. We will never ever purchase a baumatic/Hoover/Candy appliance ever again

Terrible dishwasher

Terrible dishwasher. Cheap, nasty, leaky and eventually packed up completely after 15 months - 3 months beyond the end of the guarantee.

The first one which flooded my kitchen more than once during its year of life was eventually replaced as the repairmen who came to fix it clearly didn’t know what was wrong despite their confident, patronising assurances that they had diagnosed the problem. The replacement was also a bit leaky, forming condensation around the edges of my kitchen units each time it was used. Was actually relieved when it gave up the ghost and I could justify replacing it with a Hotpoint.

Terrible, terrible product, and Hoover Candy’s service department was totally inept.

Won’t be buying a Baumatic again.

Baumatic washing machine with drum bolts not tightened

Bought a Baumatic washing machine for £300 in 2021 with 2 yrs guarantee.
Within less than 2 yrs, the machine started making loud banging noises. I reported the issue to Baumatic after guarantee expired (precisely 1 month after).
They sent out an engineer who confirmed that the bolts which hold the drum in its place needed to be tightened. He also said that he can see that this issue would have been happening for a longer time (whilst the machine was within its guarantee period) and he said I would not be charged for the call out service.

But I was charged £145 - nearly half the amount of the cost of the machine!!
I called Baumatic as I wanted them to drop the charge and they insisted that I pay even though it was very clear that the machine was produced poorly and sold onto me like that.

Clearly there is no care for the customer even when it is clear that it is their poor quality that has caused the issue but they don’t want to deal with the consequences and leave their customers to pick up the tab!

One wonders if they are doing it on purpose to get people pay to for their engineers and extended warranty plans?!

Never buy anything from this company

Never buy anything from this company. Our Baumatic fridge freezer broke, with pieces simply falling off the ice-maker. The customer service desk refused to recognise the serial number of our machine and then failed to respond to numerous requests to send an engineer. We ended up trashing the unit and buying another. Completely useless product and zero customer service.

THIS IS THE WORST OVEN I HAVE EVER USED…

THIS IS THE WORST OVEN I HAVE EVER USED & I REGRET BUYING IT IN 2018 when I had kitchen renovations. It can't even cook decent baked vegetables, takes a higher temperature to do so & takes far longer than it should. NEVER, EVER AGAIN & believe it or not, I am even thinking of selling & moving out because the source of what I like to cook (ie bake), is a total let-down. I live in Australia & we were thinking of selling to downsize anyway but with this stinking Baumatic oven combo ruling my kitchen, that move may be sooner rather than later. BUY BAUMATIC AT YOUR PERIL.

I’m in Perth Western Australia

I’m in Perth Western Australia.
Long story short.
Got faulty oven via insurance company due to damaged oven by builders mistake. But the one given to replace was faulty oven not door close properly and heat leak
Not bake properly.
Insurance company tried organised to replace but manufacturer no response more than 3 months and finally they contacted to replace however they come check not replace which must be brand new for brand new house. They tell we don’t replace we need check ourselves if you don’t like it tell insurance company .
So disgraceful
Never ever get this company product ever again.
No customer services at all.
If o could have a choice to chose for brand new house I wouldn’t chose this company products

Strongly recommend never buy this company products
