If I could give minAwful Experience – Avoid Beacon Electronics at All Costsus stars

If I could give minus stars, I would. My experience with Beacon Electronics has been terrible from start to finish. It took them over six weeks to deliver my order, despite me repeatedly chasing them for updates. Their customer service is shockingly rude and unhelpful — especially Ben and Denam, who were extremely dismissive throughout the process.

I was even threatened to pay for a faulty built-in microwave that was clearly defective. Thankfully, my credit card company investigated the matter and refunded me, confirming my claim. So I was constantly threaten and made me my pay at the end.

The engineers are also dishonest — they say one thing in person and write something completely different in their reports. I find their practices misleading and unethical.

Never buy from or deal with this company. I strongly advise others to stay away from Beacon Electronics.

We are sorry to see that you have chosen to post a review following all of the extremely complicated aspects that have occurred in your case but it is only fair that that we explain what actually has happened.
You placed an order for a Indesit microwave grill on the 4th April 2025 this was showing a 2-3 working week lead time which you accepted on order and proceeded.
The first contact was 5th of September reporting an issue with the microwave and issues performing certain tasks our team contacted you by email and phone to diagnose the issue which was that when using the grill to ‘roast peanuts’ you felt the grill was not getting hot enough and demanded a refund, as this quite a specific task and it is not easy to validate over the phone we booked a manufacturer engineer to visit site and test the product and if required repair.
The engineer visited the following day 6th September.
On the 8th September we received an email from you showing a picture of a poppadum that you had been attempting to cook in the microwave and stating that the engineer had told you that the machine was faulty on the visit 2 days earlier and demanding a refund.
We contacted Indesit customer services and the engineer did not state the machine was faulty but in fact tested the microwave and found no fault and all was working correctly, siting operator error. We contacted you and made you aware that no fault was found and suggested some tips to get the best from your machine and at the same time highlight that this is a microwave grill and not a full combination oven and can only do what it is designed to do.
9th September you emailed in asking when a 2nd engineer was going to visit, which was not discussed at any stage, we replied saying unless something else has happened or a change in function we would not be able to book an engineer as one had visited 3 days ago.
12th September you raised a payment dispute with Paypal stating that we had supplied a product that was 'not as described'. We replied accordingly with the facts and the engineer report proving the product was as described and in full working order.
22nd September you further raised a charge back with your credit card company who sit behind your paypal account we have no way of communicating in this situation as we did not deal with your credit card company as you used paypal as the payment provider, they then closed the case in your favour as we had not responded, as were not able to, using your response as the only evidence which was factually incorrect.
We contacted you to discuss the current situation and offered to book yet another engineer call to once again confirm if the machine was faulty or not and pointed out if a verdict of no fault was found you would now be in possession of goods that you had not paid for and we would have to address that if it came to pass, you agreed and a senior engineer was booked for 30th September.
1st October we contacted customer services and the engineer report was that the microwave grill was in full working order.
We had no option but to contact you and inform you that you now had goods in your possession which you had not paid for and that were in full working order and that now needed to be and gave you a week to decide how your wished to proceed, as we are operating with the Consumer Rights acts 2015 and have meet all of our obligations on supply and customer service we had no further options.
10th October you chose to settle your outstanding account.
We can only apologies if this has caused any distress but we have to be fair and realistic and cannot reject a product after 5 months of ownership with no fault simply because you don’t like it.

Quality experience

A delight to go into a small independent shop. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were attentive and knowledgeable.

Buy with confidence

I wanted a new TV. Searched all the "Normal " national retailers. During my search Beacon Electrical popped up. While Beacon Electrical is only a couple of miles away from me I had forgotten about them and thought they wouldn't be competitive with the National retailers. I was wrong. Their prices matched the others. They were also very helpful. I asked a number of questions via email and if they didn't know they admitted it but they found the information I required and came back to me. Another benefit of buying from Beacon Electrical was I got 5 years warranty at no extra charge (Samsung TV) as they were a "preferred " retailer of Samsung. I noticed the National retailers couldn't offer this extra warranty. The information and answers to my questions have proved to be accurate and honest. All the staff at Beacon Electrical were very helpful and courteous but a special thanks to Ben. Would I buy anything again from Beacon Electrical, definitely.

Absolutely lovely company

Absolutely lovely company, everytime I need something they’re always so helpful

Called about a service wondering if they provided it, they didn’t however they very amazingly directed me to where I could go for lamp fixing.

Excellent service

Excellent service from start to finish. I went in the shop for the first time this week, for a new oven. I was lead to the show room and told about the ovens in store. I went for a simple one, the cheapest and there was no pressure to spend more. I was given a choice of colours, delivery and installation options.
The delivery was arranged for the next day and was organised around my school runs. The two men that came were very friendly and professional. They offered to cut a hole in my kitchen cupboard rather than take the plug off, so that next time it would be easier to fit a replacement oven myself. They did this for me and cleaned up the mess.
I will definitely use Beacon electrical for future purchases and highly recommend them.

We had nothing but superb service from…

We had nothing but superb service from Denam at Beacon Electrical. He went above and beyond with helping us with our order, and when I changed my mind about the product, Denam seamlessly organised the new item we wanted, with professionalism and accuracy. He has constantly kept me up to speed with the process and has put my mind at ease with it all. Very rarely do you get customer service like this these days. A great company comes from having great employees. Five star service. Thank you so much Denam.

Incredible service from all at…

Incredible service from all at Kingsbridge Beacon Electrical yet again!

I have used this local shop for 7 years for a multitude of white goods - absolutely amazing service every time from the moment I have asked for initial advice (which has often been via email due to lack of my time) about what item would suit my requirements and budget, through to the prompt efficient delivery and set up service to when any warranty issues have arisen. Always quick to answer, step in and help if any issues, reasonably priced, friendly non pushy service they really do go the extra mile and Kingsbridge is fortunate to have such a store. If only all businesses could offer this top notch customer experience year after year. Thank you yet again!

Best company ever

My fridge decided to go on me in the early afternoon. Rung Beacon electrical cause they have always been brilliant in the past. And I was right the man i spoke to on phone bent over backwards to help me got me a fridge same day in the afternoon. Took all the worry out off me having to look around for 1. Recommend them everytime. Was so very grateful and can't praise them enough. Best company by far.

Thank you so much for the continue service we have received in all the products we have bought from you. We will continue to support you because of the service start to finish. Would also like to thank the two delivery drivers they were amazing could not do enough to ensure everything was set up and working. Took delivery of a new washing machine…

Took delivery of a new washing machine and fridge freezer today, got a call to say when they would arrive and Andy and Jan came spot on time, speedy, professional service and both of them were great. My third time at Beacon electrical , they really do great customer service. Thanks again to Andy and Jan, you were wonderful!

Great service

The tumble drier had been delayed from the manufacturer but was delivered in a couple of days after it had been received. The driver rang a half hour ahead. The delivery drivers were extremely helpful and pleasant. I was not expecting the drier to be unwrapped and placed where I wanted it, they went above and beyond. Thanks Beacon - exceptional.

I paid for a Meaco dehumidifier only for this lot to email me saying naa we have decided not to post the item to you and you can have your refund within 5 days.
they should have stopped me from paying when they found out I live in N Ireland. rang them up but didn't want to know. It is Disgusting the way they treated me

We are sorry to see that you have chosen to posted a negative review and wanted to apologies if we have not been clear in our explanation, to clarify exactly the reason why we refunded your order being due to the Brand Meaco changing their service guarantee for any non UK mainland postal address to be a customer return to base policy, this would mean in the event of warranty call you would have to post, at your own cost the unit back to us which we do not see as a fair or moral system in the event of a warranty failure, this was only made clear to us around the time that your order was placed and before we were able to make changes to our site, we deemed that the only fair way was to refund any orders that we receive from any such address thereby avoiding and upset further down the line. Our team did call you and sent a back up email to explain at the time of receiving your order but can only apologies for any inconvenience this has caused but hope that you will see that we had the greater good in mind.

Great product

Reliable and efficient delivery. The dehumidifier itself is easy to use and works a treat - in the 6 weeks since it was delivered it has transformed our winter clothes drying. Highly recommended.
