Great Salon and lovely staff. Had the Japanese Head Spa today, pure bliss! Would definitely recommend this treatment. Beautiful lighting and the jets felt so relaxing. Lovely kind staff.

Awful service
I went in for my appointment at the Beauty temple in West Bridgford today. Turned up on time. Waited for 20 minutes, only to be told that I couldn’t have my treatment as there wasn’t a room available because another therapist had taken a client in early! Quite unbelievable really. I’ve never experienced anything like that anywhere else. I’d planned my day around having the appointment in the morning. Extremely annoyed as I only had this morning free before I go away on holiday. The girl on reception offered to book me in later in the day with a discount but that was no good to me. Needless to say I won’t me making an appointment here again.
Edit: I have since received an apology via phone call and an offer of 20% off on my next visit as compensation. Hopefully it won’t happen again and I’ll have a good experience so I can leave a better review!
Disappointed
Disappointed. The building was really lovely and so I expected good things. The staff were not especially welcoming, even getting the name wrong several times. No refreshment offer, couldn’t get us in and out quick enough. My daughter had her heart set on French manicured nails for her birthday, but was told there was not enough time for this. The pink she ended up with was a poor job. The mini facial was conducted in what felt like the waiting area. All in all, disappointing.

Wonderful experience from beginning to end!
I had the absolute pleasure of having a treatment done at Beauty Temple yesterday- it was such a wonderful experience from the second I walked into the door.
I was greeted with warm smiles, beautiful atmosphere and was treated like royalty from beginning to end.
Highly, HIGLY recommend as they really do go above and beyond! I’ll definitely be back.
Thank you Beauty Temple team, keep doing what you do so well!!

Very disappointing pedicure
I paid £85 for a manicure and pedicure today at Beauty Temple West Bridgford.
Good points- the manicure is ok, not brilliant but ok.
Negatives - my pedicure is rubbish because:
- I paid for a soak off but the therapist instead rubbed the existing polish off very roughly with a nail file rubbing skin in the process and leaving sore spots.
- the therapist cut my toenails so short that they look awful. My little toenail is now so small she couldn’t paint it properly so she has just splodged the polish on. It is also so short that the newly exposed skin that should actually be under the nail is sore.
- the polish on the other nails is uneven and looks like it was done by a novice.
Whilst I was there the therapist that did my pedicure spent a lot of time complaining about how busy they were, that someone was sick and how there was a double booking.
To be honest I would have preferred if you had cancelled my appointment rather than squeeze it in because it felt rushed and significantly below the high standard I have come to expect from Beauty Temple.
Despite several good treatments previously this experience will probably stop me coming back.
Update - despite an immediate response detailing an investigation and promising a response no response has been received more than 2 weeks later.
Further update - received a phone call and profuse apology. Have been offered an additional pedicure in recompense.

The “well-oiled machine” that just broke down!
Our recent experience at the Beauty Temple at Burton Waters simply belies belief.
Following the loss of both her husband and her lifelong companion dog in the same year, my friend’s daughter gave her a birthday voucher to de-stress with a spa treatment at this place and she invited me to join her. Far from de-stressing, the whole experience was the most stressful from start to finish.
The booking process was totally dysfunctional with unanswered emails and phone calls to the extent that we ended up having to drive 20 miles to the Spa to discuss what we wanted. All informed , I also agreed to pay for an upgrade as a thanks to my friend for inviting me and we set about booking this “special day”. A phone call to the number on their website resulted in a booking confirmation - for Nottingham! I’m not an angry person, I don’t shout and I simply went into assertive mode, only to be told that I was being abusive, a pretty woke response to someone who had been let down at every stage of their journey.
In frustration, we decided to contact their Regional Manager to complain about their total lack of service, communication issues and inadequate staff training. After copious apologies that their “well-oiled machine” had let us down, she offered us a complimentary facial treatment if we arrived half an hour before our due appointment which we reluctantly accepted.
When the day finally arrived, we reported half an hour early as requested, but after waiting for the Receptionist to finish a long personal call on her mobile and ignoring us whilst she dealt with someone else (with no acknowledgement to us at all), she checked our booking only to tell us that no facial had been booked and because they were so busy, they didn’t think that they’d be able to fit us in.
Well, I’ve never heard someone say “sorry” so many times and in so many different ways. We finally decided that we just wanted the voucher monies refunded and walk away. Oh no, no-one had the authority there to do that, no managers were available to deal with it and judging by our experience with this company so far, we decided to insist on at least having that in writing before leaving.
We lost over 3 hours of our life in trying to deal with their total ineptitude before finally getting it in writing.
For a company that specialize in the pampering of bodies and egos, my body now needs a double massage and my ego is dented. I would welcome recommendations for a proper professional massage to get over this horrendous experience.
No value
For just shy of £80 I expected more. In my experience a pedicure is more than just a scrub & paint. No massage, simple exfoliation & a therapist that was disinterested. Same for the manicure. Looks OK, miminal effort

Terrible BIAB nails
I went for BIAB nails and was really disappointed.
Firstly I was kept waiting, my appointment started late, no massive deal but this wasn’t acknowledged nor was I offered an apology.
After starting my nails I was asked to chose a colour, I explained I wanted French manicure and was told she couldn’t do this as not trained - I found this very strange for a professional salon.
My nails when done were awful, really bulky and lumpy looking.
I did explain I wasn’t happy with how bulky there were (she done So many layers) and this was more or less brushed away.
I did respond directly to the salon after via an email survey from them. I did explain I wasn’t happy and was expecting to hear back from them but nothing.
I am now making my feedback public.
Edit:
I have since been contacted and have received a sincere apology with the offer of a complimentary treatment. Thanks

Worst LVL attempt
I have visited the new Mapperley Top location to get a lash lift on 23rd may thinking it’d try Beauty temple being close to home . The staff were lovely but the treatment itself was poor. I have my lashes lifted regularly every 6 weeks and as i have quite long lashes the results are always beautiful .
I had an LVL lift here and the results weren’t great at all the lashes were barely lifted but i was assured that somtimes the result is best after the 48 hr period .. i gave it the benefit of the doubt , and i DO NOT even put a drop of water on my face for the first 72 hrs !! My lashes did not improve and A week later and my lashes are FLAT ! For £46!! No lift and straight lashes after a week ?? Really!
Not impressed at all and have asked for a full refund as just not what you expect for £46! Having to go back to my original technician who is quite far away she stated they probably used cheap product or the wrong size pad for my length of lashes , either way it just screams poor service and lack of experience in this sector. Definatley wouldn’t return for this service anyway.

Not a happy celebration!
My recent trip to West Bridgford was an unhappy experience. I left feeling dejected and embarrassed for my daughter who had arranged the manicure for a birthday treat.
The beautician was offhand, unhelpful, uninterested and discourteous; the manicure the worst I’ve ever had.
My daughter’s experience was quite the opposite. So sad that this happened.
Following my review I received an apology from the Beauty Temple which I really appreciated. They were unhappy that my experience was at odds with their vibe and offered free treatments and a drink for both of us; a generous offer but one I felt quite unable to face.

Bad, bad idea
If what you want is a gentle, quick, thoroughly professional manicure avoid this sloppy place, or do your own nails.

Avoid this salon at all costs
I booked a royal manicure for myself and my mum as a Mother’s Day treat. I booked online for 2 people and chose a time. When we arrived we were told there was only one person available to do the treatment. I was also blamed for not booking 2 slots when I wasn’t giving that option online. It was an awful experience. All members of staff were rude and unhelpful. The technician carrying out the manicure didn’t communicate well at all and just left as soon as she had finished the manicure. I left without having a manicure and was very upset. It totally ruined what should have been a lovely experience. I would definitely never visit again and would never recommend the salon to anyone. Such an awful experience. Please avoid if you are looking for a relaxing experience with understanding staff because you won’t find it here.

I bought an advent calendar for my adult daughter and we’ve been both very disappointed with the contents. Such an expensive gift and some real tat in most box’s. Obviously she has no idea of the cost of this box, but I cannot believe how completely rubbish /useless most of the gifts are- previously I’ve made my own and wouldn’t dream of adding half of the things that have been included

My daughter bought me a spar day for my 76th birthday. On arrival we were take up to the room for our treatments. My daughter and i were together in the same room, as I went to get onto the therapy bed it slid across the room good job my daughter was there to catch me, as I would of had a nasty fall. She also was very careful as her bed moved very freely as well. I Was very disappointed with the facial, and arm and scalp massage, my face was covered in oil and my makeup was still left on, my scalp message was just the very front of my head and my hair was full of oil at the front. I have had my own beauty salons and been a beauty therapist for over 40 years so I know that the therapist needed a lot more training, they were very polite though.
The jacuzzi was lovely and our meal was nice. The best part of the day was spending it with my daughter
Eyelash Extensions with Emily-Mae
I have been visiting Emily-Mae at the City Centre branch for classic eyelash extensions for a year and a half now. An early menopause was the culprit for various image related self-esteem crushers, but my thinning and increasingly sparse eyelashes made me feel that I was fading away. I was nervous that I would look like I had two mini sweeping brushes perched on my eyelids, nervous they would tear out the fragile stumps of my own eyelashes (each one needed to be preserved at all costs!) and nervous that I just didn’t have enough for the process to work. Emily-Mae listened to my concerns, explained the process and reassured me. I was overjoyed with the difference! My eyes had definition once again and for a year and a half I have been returning to Emily-Mae to work her magic, sometimes a new full set, mostly quick lash infills. Emily-Mae is an absolute master at the art of applying eyelash extensions and although I have experimented with various lengths, I opt for the classic lashes for an everyday natural look. There is still a daily delight at not having to apply layers of mascara each day or using eyelash curlers. I totally recommend anyone who is in my position to book an appointment with Emily-Mae and you won’t look back. She is friendly, professional and thorough. All the staff who work there are welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. Thank you!
Avoid for massage
I went to the Nottingham City salon for a hot stone massage. When I arrived I was taken into a small dark room right next to reception so not the relaxing enviroment I had imagined as I could hear everything going on over the "spa music". The lady who massaged me never spoke to me beforehand asking if I had any issues or problem areas which has been standard everywhere else I have had this treatment. When the massage started, the amount of pressure used was excessive, I had to ask her to be more gentle. I felt I was being pushed through the table. When the massge was over. My back muscles went into spasm and I couldn't stand correctly for 5 minutes. Even now weeks after I'm having issues which I didn't have before. Avoid this place for maasage.
