From walking in the door a warm welcome from the staff they were polite, friendly and helpful. Allowed me to browse at my own pace but I was also able to ask any questions I had about different products. Very knowledgeable helpful men.

Had a lovely experience with louise from metrocentre. She help my son choose a mattress that suited his needs. He has had the mattress a few days now and has made a massive difference to his sleep and ours. I found the price very good and competitive

The best experience - no sales push! A friendly welcome and help when you need it! We were greeted by 3 members of staff when walking into the Gateshead store and given a little bit of help on how the beds are labelled. Peter the manager of the store then had a little chat with us and left us to have a look around. We had been to a pushy store prior and the experience here was night and day better. So much so that we ended up buying 2 beds on the day. The communication after the sale has been really good and overall it was a ten out ten experience for us. Thanks to Peter and his excellent customer service!

Very good and friendly service salesman was first class and helpful.

In store service was great when ordering items, no issue with staff member who initially served us. However once they had our money, it was a different story. Failed to deliver as promised with delay of two weeks, leaving my 80 year old mother with no bed or mattress to sleep on. It was explained on day of ordering she was homeless following a fire and needed bed urgently. When bed delivery got cancelled last minute, the online chat team told me to go in store and get a temporary bed but I went into store and was told no such service available. Despite formal complaint being made no explanation given to date about why “the mattress did not arrive on the container.” Was contacted by a Bensons for Beds rep last week who said it could be a human error which they would not be at liberty to divulge.

We bought a bed in March 2025 from the Gateshead Branch and when it was delivered part of the bed was broken. A replacement was ordered and we were told it would be 5 weeks until it would be delivered. This is not really acceptable as the bed that we paid for in full was not fit for purpose through no fault of our own. The broken part should have been replaced straightaway, particularly as we were told the part was in stock. Can you advise why we have had to wait 5 weeks for a broken part to be replaced? I have raised this issue and our deep disappointment with Bensons for Beds in the feedback form, but needless to say we have not received a response. We are still sleeping on a mattress on the floor. Thank you.

The staff at the shop in Gateshead were excellent, friendly and informative. However the delivery and assembly team were terrible. Turned up late claiming they couldn’t find the house after sitting 25 metres down the road for nearly half an hour. The state they left the room in after assembling the bed was terrible, polystyrene bits were everywhere including behind the bed, it took me over 30 minutes to clean up their mess. One of the just painted walls was left badly marked and will have to be repainted, paint chips out of the door frame. On the basis of this delivery, unlikely to use Bensons in future.

WELL what do I say - I ordered an iGel NanoTech 5000i Plushtop Mattress £2149 Mattress and confirmed when purchased it was actually in stock as I needed it quickly - YES definitely in stock so bought it and was given delivery date of the 12th Feb - had few confirmation texts too - the day before I got a phone call to say SORRY OUT OF STOCK we have production problems and can't even give you a date when you will get it!!! apparently they have 900 orders for this bed they can't fulfil ??? - yet I can still go online and buy it even though you have no stock. Rang the Gateshead branch where I bought it from who were very unhelpful and couldn't give me any date if or when I would receive my mattress - I asked for a refund on the 12th still not received in my bank yet but says it's on its way !
