Poor customer service. One of your staff at the centre is so rude to customers

I have booked a class today at Abraham Moss. It was my first time going to this particular sport centre, it was almost impossible to find a parking space, which resulted in arriving 5 minutes late. I had asked for some help from reception to open the gate, the person at reception told me that I cannot go inside because the course that I paid for had already started their warm up, now I was less than 10 minutes late. So I asked the reception if they would refund me, she said no because I was late and then started talking with one of her colleagues. And ignored me. They could have told me about other courses that were happening that day but I guess their conversation was more important than providing good customer service. I am so glad that I didn't have a membership there.

Excellent engagement with the swimming teachers. Front of house was brilliant too.

Swimming pool is severely overcrowded. Caused me quit swimming even though it helped me before with my physical condition. And now my husband close to quitting because 5-6 people in small lane is NOT normal and impossible to swim

The place is not too big but the facilities are clean. The problem is they let too many people registered not giving enough room for everyone. also, so many classes just for women only, this shouldn't be a priority, priority classes should be mixed and only very little ones for women only, this is the wrong message in a D&I point of view as I should be able to book any classes regardless of my gender and not priority to women only classes rather than being mixed and inclusive classes a priority
Also, there is so many little kids hanging around on the gym, like between 8/12 I'd say, they are going around on their phones and occupying the machines. Then some other "chavs" smoking in the bathroom and changing rooms and no one supervising anything
The guys working there are just sitting on reception and not looking after the facilities and who is using them
The place could be great but how unsupervised the place is, it is why the issues are happening
I'm hundred per cent sure those little kids don't pay for the gym and they go with the fanny packs around bothering people that actually are using the gym. It feels a bit unsafe due to the people around and how no one do anything about it
They gang in the changing rooms as well which it feels very insecure when you are just trying to get changed and leaving your things there , as so many lockers are missing the hole for the pat lock that I imagine they broken in to steal things from there

I had a lovely first experience at the leisure centre. The staff were friendly, and my swimming teacher was patient and encouraging.

Brilliant! Would be 5 stars if it was a longer lesson, 30 minutes are over in no time.

First time taking my kids swimming they where so excited but the staff are so rude think they need to learn to be more polite and kind instead of being stuck up pool was freezing and it was empty just 2 people asked for arm
Bands if we can borrow for my daughter as first time swimming no they wouldn’t lend them or anything else as it’s for class but while we where there no class was on we left unhappy even kids noticed and said they so rude and that says a lot

I’m a pensioner and I have a blue badge.
The arthritis in my knees have been playing up badly and I was advised that swimming would help alleviate the pain. So I joined my local gym in order to take swimming lessons through the app with the help of their staff member.
My daughter called up Better life to discuss which membership better suits me. It was agreed that I went for the 16+ off peak membership which would allow me pay less for my swimming classes which we was 60+(We were told).
We booked, but on arrival, I was told it was not a swimming class at all, but just a swimming for over sixties, which begs the question as to why I had to pay extra for swimming, as the 60+ swimming was during off peak anyway?
I spoke to staff, and they came up with all sorts of reasons why my money could not be refunded but would need to pay over £60 per month for gym membership and swimming lessons in order to be where I wanted to be. As I could not afford this, I cancelled my membership and lost my sign up fee, my 16+ off peak fee, and swimming lesson fee, totalling approximately £45.00.
I walked away. Not because I could afford to lose this this money but because I could not deal with the stress of the back and forth. To be clear this is in relation to the Abraham Moss better life centre.

Swimming pools are freezing we’ve been several times with my 2 children 3&1 and they’ve cryed to get out as it’s that cold
Having small children in a pool which is 15degrees isn’t safe for a child that age to be in. Is there a certain times when the pools are warmer?

Hi 10/10 to all the staff at the leisure centre they all have amazing customer service skills including being extremely polite and helpful and I’m going to name a few, Anna, Calum, Simon, James, Nicole, Jamie, Lucius, danchi Ben and many more. Equally they keep the leisure centre very clean in comparison to how it was before the new build. I am very satisfied and I would recommend it to everyone. Keep up with the good work 😉

Abraham moss leisure centre is amazing it was mine and my daughter's first time going during the half term. I signed my daughter up to the non swimmers short courses which she completed. She has learnt so much and she has enjoyed every minute of it. I have now signed her up for the swim school and she was a little nervous however the staff teacher nicole made her feel very comfortable and safe and she is enjoying and learning a lot from her and she is getting more and more confident in her swimming. The staff are so helpful and friendly they are doing a brilliant job! The centre is very clean and has good size lockers and changing cubicles I will be continuing to come to the center. I will recommend this center to all my friends and family

The swim for woman and child is for girls of all ages (good) and boys under 8 only and I find it quite inconvenient because I am a mum of 4 and it is difficult to deal with different ages among siblings. It would be great for mums to have access with boys under 10. At 10 years old, boys are still young and can have access to woman session in my opinion without problem. I hope this will be changed. Moreover the female lifeguard for the 13-14:00 session (woman and child in pool 2) was awful, very unfriendly and rude.
