I enrolled on healthwise for nothing
You dont fufill the needs of people with limited movement.I joined healthwise and do not meet the criteria to join the gym.I can only do chair based exercise which runs twice a week, is hard to get into.The staff failed to mention that in order for me to book go to healthwise which did not apply to chair based classes. Ive paid and couldnt get into class due to wrong information.I wrote email no response.I called and a lovely lady explained it was under different category. I can only attend one as i have another on another day.You need to have more classes for disabled people. I doubt i will lose weight, ive lost my motivation.Then by next month have to cancel in order to not be charged £26. I ask was there any point in joining? NO

We are sorry that you are not happy with the Flex membership. This membership gives one session included a month and all other sessions are booked at a pay and play rate.
This membership is fantastic if you would like to use the centres occasionally; however, if you are going often it does work out cheaper to sign up to an inclusive membership.

The staff on the whole are lacklustre
The staff on the whole are lacklustre. The fitness classes are dull and have no soul or fire. Ive connected more with online instructors than with those teaching at the Clissold leisure centre, 40 people ina. room, with one person shouting instructions from the front, themselves not even happy to be there. The staff in the weights area openly criticise the facilities, are uninformed and unprepared in how best to work with people of mixed ethnicity, political views should not feature in a health assessment. On the plus side, the facilities are actually very good.

Very poor experience & customer care.
There is a constant stream of classes cancelled at the last minute. Dreadful communication from the centre. A dance aerobics teacher has walked away from her classes and the centre can seem to find no suitable replacement. A new music app has been imposed which is like lift music and unsuitable for choreography. There’s occasionally sewage coming up through the floor in the ladies’ changing room. Shocking! The customer care is non existent to appalling.

In late 2025 we became aware that the cost of our current music license that covers all our 250 leisure centres and gyms across the UK would increase significantly. As a charitable social enterprise focused on community benefit, we carefully reviewed our options to ensure we continue to invest our resources responsibly and sustainably.
Following this review, we asked our fitness instructors to transition to PPL pre-cleared, royalty-free music. This approach allows us to manage rising costs while continuing to deliver the high-quality classes you expect.
In practical terms, all instructors are being provided with free access to Power Music; one of the most widely used fitness music platforms. Power Music enables instructors to create their own playlists using professionally recorded studio tracks (not AI-generated), giving them flexibility while ensuring full compliance with licensing requirements.
We hope this provides reassurance and clarity about why we have made this decision, the care we have taken to engage with and support our instructors and our commitment to maintaining your class experience. As we implement these changes we will continue to monitor feedback and engage with staff and customers.

Terrible music policy
If music motivates you to work harder, burn more calories, motivates you to move DO NOT CHOOSE BETTER! They have increased our memberships but taken away the licence to play real, genuine artists as they don’t want to pay the fee. The result - classes with AI elevator music that does simply nothing! It adds no atmosphere, depletes motivation, is a system that is entirely dependent on WiFi so sometimes we have no music! It’s not worth the £60 odd pounds a month anymore. Limp as a wet lettuce

All the changing room for the swimming…
All the changing room for the swimming pool is too cold, freezing straight after swim, showers are poor, sometimes not enough water coming out, or not hot..... The app is terrible, waste of time.....
