Hard to fault this amazing location! From the accommodation to the facilities, High Cloud had our whole group of 24 (age range 1 to 76) comfortable, entertained, and supremely happy. We had one outing to Symond's Yat, but even that delight wasn't really necessary. Frankly, there was sufficient interest in the pool, the secure fields, the games and the quiet rooms to keep our varied group occupied happily.

Can't think of any negatives, sorry!

We booked a multi-generational (age 20-mid 60s), multi-celebration stay at Monnow Valley Studios with Alison of Big House Holiday Lets. Everything was brilliant from start to finish! Alison helped us to curate a wonderful weekend of experiences. The house itself exceeded our expectations; so much character and personality with all the music memorabilia. Jo and Phil at the house were helpful and friendly. We very much enjoyed the eggs from their chickens! Downstairs ensuite bedrooms useful for those with limited mobility, but note no other downstairs loo. Overall, we had a fun and action packed weekend and made many wonderful memories. Thoroughly recommeded!

The house is a great space to hold a celebration with many guests. Each room having its own en-suite gives all guests privacy.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped not only with crockery but with utensils as well and the two dishwashers were a great help. I catered for 14 people over 3 days and never once needed a kitchen item that wasn’t available.
The dining room is large enough to seat 20, close enough to the kitchen that you can hear the laughter and join in but far enough away that the guests can’t see the mess you are making in the kitchen !

The house is in a lovely area with footpath walks on the doorstep for those that like a little wander or have dogs to exercise.

The outside space is great too with a hot tub, games room and lawned area for children to run around on or for people to lounge on. The indoor and outdoor spaces offer something for every age.

I would definitely recommend.

“The owners have thought of everything in this beautiful dog friendly house with secure courtyard at the rear entrance. The House was clean, spacious and so well equipped. The location is beautiful – right on the river so perfect for walks. The town centre is within walking distance with lovely independent shops, bars and Cafe as well as a big Waitrose. Thank you for all your help from booking to payment all with ease.
We all had a great time.

A fantastic house for our recent family get together for my mum’s 70th. Everyone loved the characteristics of the place and the history. Easily accommodated 18 people with a dinning table to accommodate us all, something my mum particularly liked and made for some great photos. The house has everything and more you could need. The hot tub, sauna, snooker table and wonderful gardens were an added bonus and enhanced our stay. Just a short walk away and your in the town of Abergavenny, with its lively pubs, big shout out to the Kings Arms for accommodating 18 people and serving up such amazing food.

As you can tell, we all had a fantastic time.

The house manager Peter deserves a shout out also for being helpful from the start.

Where do I start as everything was perfect.
We were met on arrival by Oli the manager, such a nice welcome, he showed us around the house and explained how everything worked. The house felt so calm and peaceful and we all immediately felt at home. It was so well equipped and we wanted for nothing.
The scenery is amazing with plenty to do and see. There’s a lovely pub on the other side of the river that we visited and used the hand pulled ferry to get over to it which fun for the kids. The views from the top of Yat Rock were amazing.
We all had a fantastic stay and there were tears when we had to leave.
We are already planning to go back.

We had a great family weekend at Pencraig Court. We rented the house and cottage as we were a big party, celebrating 2 significant birthdays. The owners Gordon and Anastasia are delightful and really helpful and the house and grounds are wonderful, with fantastic views over the Wye valley

Amazing stay at the Manor on the Monnow …

Booked the Manor on the monnow for my
mother in-laws 70th birthday to get all the family in one house as we are a family of 22. We had amazing service from start to finish, when enquiring to book Alison was fab and always kept in contact, few days before Mike the house keeper contacted to introduce hisself and see what tim we wanted to arrive so could meet us there and also on the day messaging to confirm time. When we arrive Mike was waiting at the door to greet us and was so friendly, amazing with the kids letting them being part of the tour of the house when showing us around.
The Manor is clean and spacious and catered for everyone, hot tub and games room was a big hit with not just the kids … adults too😀. Large dinning room to fit all around the table to chat and eat was and all sit together was nice, then evening in the lounge with plenty space and wood fire for evening drinks and games altogether.
Kids loved the out door area in the day time being able to run and play out door game as Manor had plenty of land around.
Would definitely return.

We've just got home from the most wonderful weekend away spent with our family and friends. The house was great! The layout worked really well, giving us plenty of space to spread out and have different areas for the different ages and the rooms were nicely spread out so we didn't feel on top of each other. The kitchen was really well equipped and we were able to cook up some delicious feasts for us all. Everyone went exploring on Saturday booking for some deep caving at Clearwell Caves and Go Ape was thoroughly enjoyed by the children. Thank you for helping make the booking process so easy and we hope to come back one day!

It was my 2nd time booking group accommodation through this company and customer service was great, friendly and kept me informed as needed both times.
The accommodation was fantastic, we were a group of 15 and even though the place slept many more than this it still worked out very affordable pp. Bedrooms clean and comfortable and some with stunning views of the river.
We went away to celebrate a friends 40th and it was the perfect place, large dining area for us all to eat together and we loved the bar area and that’s where we spent most of our time in the evenings. Also a really spacious games room which we didn’t get around to making the most of!
Location was also perfect, lovely views/scenery and there was a pub very close by.
Already thinking of when we can book again!

We stayed in as part of a larger group for the weekend. The house had everything we needed for our young family. All of the bedrooms seemed very spacious but in particular our family room was really big and warm. With all of the many, many things we need to travel with the room didn't feel full or cluttered at all.

Everywhere felt really clean and well looked after.

Typically we did what we thought was a thorough check before we left but ended up leaving an important little toy behind. Alison was really quick in coming back to me and liaising with the housekeeper to get the toy returned to us.

We would absolutely stay again.

Wonderfully adaptable holiday home for celebrating special occasions. We had 7 couples all able to have their own bathroom and telly. The kitchen was excellently stocked with more than enough crockery, utensils, white goods etc. the hot tub and outdoor gaming room was ideal for a winter getaway. Location is great with good country pubs and good quality takeaways all within walking distance. Highly recommend.

The games room was excellent and was very much enjoyed by our mixed age party. The walks from the house were lovely, with interesting information provided about the farm and wildlife - wellies recommended at this time of year! The kitchen was great - really well equipped for a large group. The bedrooms were comfortable and the large number of ensuite rooms a real bonus.
Raglan Castle was well worth a visit and very close by. We also enjoyed Go Ape. The cider tour at Orchard House was a highlight for our group, with the bonus that we now have our cider supplies stocked up for Christmas! Sunday lunch at the nearby Lion in Trellech was also a big hit, and they were on the ball with gluten free requirements.

We stayed at Monnow Valley Studio. The house itself is absolutely incredible and even better than the already amazing pictures suggest. You really get a sense of it's history also. We had the most perfect time celebrating our marriage and the flow of the rooms enhanced the whole experience. The hot tub and the games room are brilliant additions and were loved by all guests in our party. The kitchen is also excellent and easily catered for everyone.

Jo and Phil are extremely good hosts, offering information on the house and surroundings (including the alpacas!!) generously whilst also giving guests the space to relax and enjoy themselves.

All booking and handlings through BHHL were first class and would thoroughly recommend their services too

We stayed at Forest House as a family of 22 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house was spacious, clean and tidy. The location was perfect with a short walk into the town and also great for accessing local attractions. We visited Puzzlewood and the Forest of Dean Railway. Fantastic customer service from the team at BHHL from start to finish. Thank you!

The Manor on the Monnow was fabulous. We were 23 all family and all age groups. The games room was a hit as was the hot tub. The house is so spacious and has underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, upstairs has central heating. Although it’s such a large house it felt warm and welcoming. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room sat everyone comfortably. The large lounge was perfect for pre dinner drinks and then relaxing afterwards as there is plenty of seating. The walk into Monmouth was all on the flat and very pleasant. Great time was had by all, and the manager (Mike) who met us upon arrival, was so friendly and very helpful in explaining how everything in the house worked, he really was excellent.

We had a great weekend with all our family. The house was perfect for all ages and sizes! Loved the hot tub and games room. Lots to do and see nearby as well. A wonderful place to stay.

Wye Rapids House - 13-15 October 2023
Perfect house for family reunion of all ages - in a beautiful setting next to the river Wye. Great to have the pub nearby and lots of lovely walks. The house is well set up with plenty of space and bathooms for all plus the bonus - a games room which was very popular. Our host was there to welcome us and was very helpful and friendly.

Had another fantastic week at High Cloud Farm. Even at the end of October the swimming pool was a big draw, as was the hot tub!

The accommodation is excellent and the 30 acres of land around is fantastic for playing & walking. The views are amazing and you feel remote, even though you're only 15 minutes from Monmouth.
