Had a great family birthday party in a really lovely well equipped house that catered for everyone from their 80s to 3 year olds!

Had a great stay in Monmouth having a wonderful birthday celebration with family and friends :)

A great place, big enough for our extended family. Supurbly situated.

Holly Tree House is a fantastic house for a large group. Plenty of bedrooms - large dining room to all eat together.
Kitchen was big enough with 2 fridges - 2 dishwashers - 2 freezers - enough cutlery plates etc for all 24 of us. 2 living areas - with a games room and a hot tub outside in a covered area.
Brilliant location for a walk along the river wye.
Lovely outside area to sit with a bbq and table to seat us all.

Owner is nearby and very helpful as we left some belongings and these were posted back at no charge.

Would definitely recommend .

Everything, from the initial booking with Alison and then the house itself - Monnow Valley Studios - is the perfect party venue. The house was amazing, the owners incredibly helpful and everything was top quality and nicely managed. Ian Barnes (Barney) was also brilliant as a caterer. We had the best time and certainly recommend.

Lovely house for my family to enjoy 24 adults 2 babies and 3 dogs. Everything we needed was there. Beautifully clean. Wonderful location..

A well presented property in a wonderful location.
The location directly below Symonds Yat Rock, next to the river and a couple of minutes from the local pub could not be beaten.
The property is well presented, cosy and warm and the local Management Team responded very quickly to a couple of questions. Highly Recommended.

We booked The Anchor in Lydbrook for a special family holiday in September. We couldn't fault anything, from the booking process to the accommodation. We had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to use BHHL again. Our security bond was quickly refunded on our return.

Great and easy communication. Reminders and prompts for ideas and upcoming payments. Great itinerary and plans for accommodation and surrounding area. Amazing house for an eclectic family and friends get away and celebration. An enjoyable experience I'd be happy to repeat!

Great company great houses

Such a pro-active company. Never was there a communication they didn't reply to promptly and efficiently. They were very friendly and helpful and it would make me only want to book through them. Just waitingifor a deposit return, but I understand it takes about 10 days.

We were a large family of 23, mostly adults with 2 being disabled and 5 kids under 14 also and we did 6 nights (mon-Fri). Prior to arriving we had good communication from Mike the caretaker/housekeeper who told us what’s what.
The house fitted everyone comfortably and offered everything that we needed. Bedrooms were ideal especially those downstairs for ones in the party with mobility issues. Plenty of space for everyone to socialise inside and out. And also plenty of room for the dogs to stretch out.
We had a heatwave so only used the hot tub a few times unfortunately.
We went down to the river and jumped in which was refreshing, water shoes advised as lots of rocks.
Monmouth town centre was only a 20min walk away so quick drive so that was ideal. A few takeaways nearby, Chinese, Indian, fish & chips. My wife and I went to a lovely Mexican restaurant called Moko’s one night which I’d recommend.
We also canoeing and paddle boarding at Symonds Yat which is a short drive away. There is a lovely pub and beer garden right next to it so could spend a few hours there.
Feedback for future (which is minor) is to perhaps invest in those insect nets. There is no air con in the property and because we had the windows open all day due to the heat naturally some bugs came in which didn’t go down well with some. Also to either plumb in a water cooler or get one of those special taps as the cold water didn’t actually get that cold and would have been welcomed on the hot days we had.

All Big House Holiday communications were prompt and clear.
We were a big party with complex needs, from an elderly wheelchair-user to a two-year old toddler and everything in between! The house fitted us all comfortably. The annex worked well for the wheelchair-user and his carer.
The house is beautifully and fully equipped. Its situation is great - peaceful and with fine views. it was so nice that we didn't need to go out for expeditions.
We were there for a long weekend, but it felt longer, in a good way.
A brilliant holiday experience.

Hard to fault this amazing location! From the accommodation to the facilities, High Cloud had our whole group of 24 (age range 1 to 76) comfortable, entertained, and supremely happy. We had one outing to Symond's Yat, but even that delight wasn't really necessary. Frankly, there was sufficient interest in the pool, the secure fields, the games and the quiet rooms to keep our varied group occupied happily.

Can't think of any negatives, sorry!
