Following extensive research on a suitable vehicle, I found Big Motoring World as a possible solution. But little did I realise what was to follow, so would advise others to be aware and avoid the same experiences I had.
On securing a good valued model by means of a temporary deposit. I was advised by the website and a follow up phone call by a centralised sales team to get an accurate trade in price for my existing car. This I did and received an email summary of a minimum and maximum valuation.
The email and the sales advisor from the phone call stated the minimum valuation was based on a poor condition, multi owned and non or very little service record. With the maximum valuation shown for a showroom condition vehicle.
I proceeded to book an appointment as I was travelling 120 miles to view the car and bring my vehicle as a part exchange. Knowing a fair valuation and the balance in a cash deal.
My experience on arrival was one of confusion as the designated Sales representative kept me waiting initially for 15 minutes before not having any knowledge of the car I had secured. I explained that before we proceeded with a test drive, it would be prudent to know the valuation of my existing car as a part exchange as not to waste further time.
This, I was informed was not possible. I would have to run through the Big Motoring World process before a valuation could be made, albeit my car keys were handed over for an inspection.
The process took a further 90 minutes ( normally two hours I was informed) where I was offered a look around the new car, test drive, offered numerous insurances, warranties, PCP / finance deals and car treatments.
I was then after further waiting, informed by the Sales representative that the Manager had decided on a price. I felt insulted and totally misled at this point. The amount offered was £1700 less than the minimum valuation. Following my comments and remarks of distaste, I received a final valuation, this time £500 less than the minimum valuation.
The Sales representative apportioned blame on the Manager and stated this was a regular occurrence and he always felt awkward giving the news to a customer. Especially when the car I had was in good condition.
Trying to stay balanced and respectful I do feel that I have been misled and coerced into viewing the car under a false pretence. I had spent seven hours travelling and listening to a sales pitch very much on the retailer’s proviso. So much for customer satisfaction. Be aware of what you are informed.

Had a walk round the forecourt at least half the vehicles have cosmetic damage including poor repairs and substandard resprays. Avoid at all costs!

Turned up at 5.05 on a Sunday, having checked the closing time was 6pm online. Was turned away straight away before even seeing how long we would take. Knew what we wanted to view. Very dissatisfied, wasted journey. Poor customer service 😢 avoid !!

We had visited this site previously when it was Available Car and had a much better experience.
As soon as we entered the showroom, we were asked whether we had an appointment. When we said no, the receptionist asked us to complete a form with our personal details, explaining that it was so they knew we were on site. However, the form also included a box asking whether we were happy to be contacted for marketing purposes, so it felt more like a way of collecting customer details than simply recording visitors.
We were then told that all of the cars were locked so effectively couldn’t even look inside them fully without a salesperson accompanying us. For us, that’s a major drawback. We prefer to browse at our own pace before deciding whether we’d like to speak to someone. My husband has walking difficulties and having to walk back to the sales area every time we wanted to view a car would be impossible. We can look through car windows in a supermarket car park! What we wanted to do was see if the cars we were looking into would fit our needs without the hard sell.
When we explained that this approach wasn’t for us, the receptionist said that everywhere locks their cars nowadays. In our experience, that hasn’t been the case, including Available Car at Castle Donington and at several other dealerships we’ve visited, where customers can browse vehicles without immediate sales involvement.
Unfortunately, the whole experience felt unnecessarily restrictive and sales-focused from the moment we walked in, so we decided to leave without viewing any vehicles. After reading some of the other reviews here, we feel we made the right decision. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

I travelled with my son from Leicester to Big Motoring World at Cannock today to look at an electric car. My son wanted to buy the car, he had the finances to pay in full that day and made it clear from the outset that he needed to drive the car away that day and did not want a finance package or extended warranty. The sales lady seemed to be open to this and said that the car battery would be charged up ready. Despite us saying repeatedly that my son did not want a finance package or extended warranty, the sales lady continued to push for this, and finally walked away looking annoyed. Another sales man then appeared who tried to push finance packages and extended warranty all over again.
I became frustrated at this point and had to go outside as I was feeling so angry - I also noticed that the car was not being charged as promised. We were then informed that we couldn't take the car today as there wasn't time to sort out the paperwork, bank transfer etc. We are both feeling frustrated that having driven well over 2 hours in the heat, and having the money ready to pay for the car in full, we are still no further forward. My son is disappointed as he liked the car, and needs a vehicle to get to work on Monday, but he has no intention of going back there.
I am unhappy about the attempted manipulation and aggressive marketing of financial add-ons that we experienced today.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience was disappointing from start to finish.
The first issue was the valuation of my part-exchange. The offer was appalling and made it seem as though my car had lost thousands of pounds in value overnight. I knew what similar cars were selling for locally, so the valuation felt completely unrealistic and left me feeling like I was being misled about the current market value. I ended up getting £2000 more from my sale of my old car elsewhere so this proved my point of how much they were undervaluing my car.
The sales experience was even worse. The sales staff were impatient, pushy and, at times, rude. After giving me the low valuation, they didn't even return my car keys until I had to ask for them back. They repeatedly pushed PCP finance despite me making it clear several times that I wanted to purchase the car on HP. Rather than respecting my decision, they brought over a manager, meaning I had two people trying to pressure and guilt-trip me into taking PCP. As soon as I stood my ground and said no, their attitude completely changed. They became blunt and dismissive because they clearly weren't getting the commission they wanted, and from that point on they couldn't have cared less whether I bought the car or not.
Another major frustration was that, after reserving the car, I wasn't allowed to have it moved closer to my local branch. This wasn't explained beforehand, meaning I had to make multiple six-hour round trips just to view and then collect the vehicle.
To make matters worse, the car was sold to me with a slow puncture. Nobody mentioned this before I left, and I only discovered it while driving home on the M1 at around 9pm after collecting the car following a full day's work. Considering I'd already travelled three hours to collect it because they refused to move it closer, this was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
The only positive part of my experience, and the reason this review gets two stars instead of one, was the aftersales service when I collected the car. Cerys was friendly, helpful and got everything sorted quickly, making collection as smooth as possible.
Overall, buying a new car should be an exciting experience. Instead, I left feeling exhausted, frustrated and simply wanting to get my car and never return. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend buying from this dealership based on my experience.

Great customer service, was clear what I needed to do, didn’t feel pressured into doing anything which I appreciated from a car dealership place specifically. I arrived late but they still managed to fit me in too.

It is not possible to leave no stars which is rather unfortunate
In my personal opinion incompetent staff none professional sales advisors and useless management my advice is to put the car sales clothes back in the dressing up box and go and play in the sand pit get some real experience in digging holes probably a more subtle career
Don't believe the sales pitch go elsewhere as we did and received a better and professional service

Excellent approach to sales; no hard sell by Thomas, just an offer of help. We’d been to MANY car sales places over the weekend, and received mixed responses, the support here was exceptional in comparison. Thomas told us all we needed to know, shared cars in our price range, and told us options available, without pushing anything into us. Mohammed completed the process with professionalism and great support. Highly recommended, thanks, guys!

Wow. What can I say that is positive to give the 1 star. The car was as expected I guess.
I purchased this car without seeing it and paid what was explained to me as £139.00, £40 for moving the vehicle and the £99 reserved price (shown as fully refundable on their website).
I arrived at 1pm for a 1-2 slot, expecting I would be done at 2pm. 1 kid, 1 baby there and absolutely no regard for time, this first sales gent tried to pressure me into an over 1000 pound warranty for 12 months, then told me his manager said I really should have it (didn't know I asked for his opinion). At this point he left and didn't come back. I already selected the car and did the finance before I arrived but still at 3.30pm I found myself waiting...for what I'm not sure. The car was ready an hour ago. I actually broke down at this point from where an exciting purchase of my new car turned into a nightmare. If I hadn't signed the finance document I would have walked out by this point. Next came along the finance lady... why does noone stay for longer than 2 minutes, to which she had her excuse readily prepared 'i needed to check something' and off she went again when her part was done (deposit paid). Left waiting for another 45 minutes. Couldn't get any worse right? At this stage I was visibly crying, along with my baby... A gent comes over passes us a form and tells us to go down to the post office and tax the car, here's a blank form 'let me know when your back and il give you the keys' disgusting. Down at the post office, they were annoyed the form wasn't filled in and although I was told I could pay monthly I had to pay a minimum of 6 months. Another 200 I wasn't expecting. Told the gent when I came back who couldn't care less. Passed me the documents and the keys while sitting on his bum (in his nice air con office) and didn't even say thank you or apologise. I'm still waiting on my £99 deposit to be returned, to be honest I'm not holding my breath on getting it back. I will NEVER and I mean NEVER go back there again and will ensure friends and family never do either. Not just one failure or one bad staff member, all of it. Terrible experience, ruined my new car.

Tom our salesman was a delight. No hard sell. In fact a pleasure to deal with. He made the whole experience of buying an electric car very easy with his in depth knowledge. Would buy from him again.

Couldn't fault the customer service. Best I've had in ages.

Anyone looking for a new motor should visit big motoring world cannock. The place is amazing & very professional. Staff were very welcoming & seen me straight away even though I was an hour early. I dread the day when I'm buying a car, but this was smooth from start to finish. Would definitely recommend anyone to visit them next time they are looking to buy

We visited on a very busy day. Immediately we were welcomed and able to discuss what we wanted. Unfortunately the car we came to look at had been sold. We were invited to look around. The cars were mostly sorted by Brand, so it was easy for us. They were all locked, but as we were told that any car of interest could be unlocked, that did not matter. The Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We did not find a car this time but will visit again
