Called for advice -- purchased -- ended up with bait-and-switch.

Called for advice. Person who answered was very nice and provided decent advice. Said they would reach out to vendor and get back to me, but never did. I ended up ordering anyway -- order went through and CC was charged. Received "oh no" email from vendor (Victory Bicycle Studio) saying bike is no longer available. Vendor (Victory Bicycle Studio) then "generously" offered to sell me two different bikes -- one at $1,000 more and another at $2,000 more. Complete bait-and-switch by Victory Bicycle Studio. Bike Exchange offered free shipping on any other bike on their site, but they had noting comparable for me to purchase. Not an adequate remedy and very dismissive. Ultimately refunded.

The issue here came down to a lag in inventory updates from one of our partner stores, which we aim to minimize but can happen from time to time. In these rare instances, we always encourage our retailers to try and offer alternative solutions to the customer, but we understand how offering more expensive options could have come across as a bait-and-switch, though that was not the intent.

We appreciate the honest feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our merchant relations. If there's anything more we can do to help you find the right bike, don't hesitate to reach out.

Even has hard to find models!

Was able to order a specific bike I could not find anywhere... even using the manufacturer's network of stores. Bike delivered super quickly in excellent condition!

Everything was great. Received the bike in a timely fashion. Shipping was way too much though. With a five thousand dollar bike, shipping should be included.

3 reasons you get 2 stars

3 reason:
1)It has been 7 days since I placed my order. Bike has not shipped, 2)yet my credit card has been charged in full for the purchase.
3) no update is available.
I will wait until Monday 9-15-25 for an update if none are available I will be canceling my order.

I am concerned with the lack of…

I am concerned with the lack of communication/contact . I feel that I should be able to speak with someone not just through emails. I had to reach out by email to update my address. It’s not reassuring when you have to email and then you get a notice and the address isn’t changed on the notice. So I am quite frustrated at this point.

However, the shipping confirmation email that went out the following day when the bike shipped did contain the old address even though your order is headed to the correct address—that is a mistake on our end, as we should have clarified. Bike exchange is easy to use.

This was too easy. A great way to find your ride. This bike order was my second order for a bike. My first order had a strange glitch (nothing to do with bike exchange) and they helped me sort through it. Kudos to them.

Misrepresentation on web site

Misrepresentation on web site. Advertised a trek Donane+ AXS for $4000. Paid for and they say d it was a mistake. Did nothing to rectify it.
Dishonest never trust them!

Good experience, despite my contributions

My dad was looking for a good one-speed bike for tooling around, so I found him one on the Bike Exchange. Placing the order (on my card, but delivered to his address) was easy, the price was great, and the vendor responsive. Sadly, my dad changed his mind the next day. The upshot, great customer service all around, as they were able to cancel the order. Hopefully next time, I will actually PURCHASE something.

As I was trying to make my purchase

As I was trying to make my purchase, it would not go through with 2 different credit cards which both have a zero balance. I tried several times on both cards and then shut down your app and then shut down my phone with still no success.
Usually when you choose your state in a payment app, there is a drop down with the states listed and you choose one or the app will make your mistakes red and go back to the mistake.

Apparently the app did not like that I put in wa (no drop down) but wanted Washington. Not sure how I figured it out but I did.
It would be helpful to have the drop down with state options or obvious problems before going on to the payment.
Plus, you’re not open on weekends (or holidays with sales) so I couldn’t contact anyone by email or phone.
Other than that, fine!
