Excellent, informed and friendly service.

I brought my daughter a Frog bike from Bike Swanky for her 6th birthday. The service was extremely knowledgable and friendly and we were able to test ride a variety of bikes to see which one suited her best. I feel comfortable to go back if I ever have an issues with the bike which is an important part of the all round service for me. So far all good. Great specialist shop and team.

The boys at bike Swanky are superb. Always willing to help. Bikes are of a high standard and the ability to demo bikes and equipment before you buy is out of this world.

Fantastic advice for anyone in need

I was a little nervous about going here for some bike advice, given my limited budget vs. many, but I wanted to get a bike that would suit my needs. Spent about 2 1/2 hours with the owner who was superb. Told me everything I need to know, worked within my £600-£700 budget and didn't try and push me beyond my means. In fact, he offered me a great bike from the clearance (£450) which I love. He also gave great advice on helmets, locks etc and again, no hard sales pitches, just worked within our remits. I wouldn't hesitate recommending these guys to anyone looking for a bike. Will definitely be going back for all thinks bike related.

Superb Service

I am due to compete as an Age Grouper at the forthcoming 2016 World Duathlon Championships in Spain. I was advised to contact BikeSwanky as they carry an impresive collection of bikes. I received great service and personal attention. And I was delighted to be able to rent out a high performance road bike for a few weeks to help me prepare for and race in Spain. I can thoroughly recommend them.

Fantastic personal service

I've purchased a number of bike components from Bike Swanky in the last 6 months and have always been impressed with their knowledge, expertise and attention to detail.
Today I popped in for some brake pads and shoes and I received excellent advice on the different qualities of each brand. Andy .offered to show me how to fit them and rather than let me go with the brakes not quite performing as they should, he spent over an hour adjusting and readjusting them until he was satisfied that they worked properly.
You don't get this level of service from the internet or any of the major bike chains. Thankyou !

Problems sorted

There were some delays with my order, but in the real world this does happen! My enquiries were dealt with and phone messages that i left were replied to promptly . When the order eventually arrived there were some small freebies included as a "sorry" ( including bum cream which was included in the present to my son in law!!) that caused some hysterical laughter from my daughter !
A good honest company , so I will use them again .

Purchase of new De Rosa

In line with most cyclists and the need to find a better faster bike, I have been looking around for a while to find a new bike. Having seen the signage at their new Hub, I called in and meet Andy and Paul and chatted in general terms about my cycling and what they could offer me in terms of options. My winter bike then effectively died as it it was not economical for repair and despite looking around I again found my self back at Bike Swanky, where Paul advised of a great deal on an ex demo De Rosa Superking. I was impress that he had rememered that this bike was on my wish / shopping list and an excellent deal was struck. The bike was serviced and then available for collection in a very timely manner. A small mechanical issue arose with the bike, however the way that this was handled, rectified and resolved was first class and most than offset any initial frustrations. I'm really delighted with my new purchase and Bike Swanky have certainly secured my future servicing and repair business at this time. Hopefully I will be able to talk to them about the addition of a T.T. Bike in the not too distant future.

Great Customer Service!

Took my little boy (4 years old) to pick up his first bike. Not only was it a great price, but Paul was really helpful and set it up for him. Also some great recommendations on helmets from someone who clearly knew his stuff. He even threw in some quality lights as part of the deal. All in all a real pleasure to buy from a proper bike enthusiast rather than an "online warehouse".

Great service and excellent product knowledge

I bought a turbo trainer to get me training though the winter months. Cannot fault the service I received from start to finish. Even after I had got the product home they were keen to assist in getting it set up. I would be happy to recommend them anytime.

Nice guys but my point not answered

I spent an enjoyable time, cycling out to Bike Swanky where I had a free coffee and good advice from Paul and Andy.

I bought some expensive lights but, when I got home I discovered that even a discounted price was not competitive. I wrote to point this out and say I was disappointed but have received no response re this. This is a shame as I was thinking I might later consider buying a bike but now feel I can't do that via Bike Swanky.

I am sorry that we missed your email regarding the lower prices at some other retailers - it seems to have somehow been filtered out by our email management system and we can understand your frustration on not having answered. In case of similar cases in future, you are always very welcome to give us a call and we'd be happy to answer you in in person.

We understand that our customers have a huge choice of where they can purchase products and all shops need to have a business model which they feel works best for them. In the case of some of our competitors that means heavily discounting products which is great if all you would like from a shop is simply the lowest possible price. However, in our case we were able to:

- give you personal, unbiased advice for an hour
- show you several different lights in action for comparison
- fit your lights to the bike for you and adjust them for the best angle
- provide you personal reassurance that we can continue to look after you in the event of any issues

As it happens, we were not aware when you purchased from us that some of our competitors were having a Christmas sale and had heavily reduced the price of the lights in question. That being said, we would like to think that the time and effort that we put in to the experience that you had when visiting us was worth paying the relatively small extra.

In any case, thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback. It is useful for us to know how we are viewed by our customers even when it is not quite what we had hoped to hear.

You are still very welcome to come and talk to us about a new bike or anything else. We are here to help.

Paul & Andy provided the best service.

I was looking to get into mountain biking. I have a bad back and just had a back op so needed real advice.

I came across bike Swankey. Paul asked me a million questions. Once he worked out the style I would need he BUILT..!!! A number of bikes for me to try. I was there for a few hours testing tons of bikes.

I went back again and tested more bikes.. I finally agreed on a great bike.

I could not recommend these guys enough.

Best around...

Paul and Andy are very helpful and have good knowledge about cycling/bikes. I was allowed to test run the bike that I wanted to purchase, which I personally think is essential to choosing the correct bike for yourself.
The aftercare is second to none, for services and advice going forward.

The hub is well set out and very professional, I would not go anywhere else for a bike for myself or my wife and children.

Highly recommended and top lads.

Thank you for your review, although it is obviously hugely disappointing to us that we have not been able to live up to your expectations in this case.

We absolutely welcome customer feedback, both positive and negative, as there is always something we can learn from it. However, we felt that it was also important to give a wider context to your review on this occasion, especially since the customer service element of what we do is such an important part of our company's approach.

As you know, we contacted you by phone shortly after the order was placed to inform you of the problem sourcing the product and you were very understanding. We then processed a refund for you immediately - an approach which you seemed to be entirely happy with at the time.

Our web developers are currently working full time on a new and improved website and, regrettably, the request to remove the unavailable products was overlooked until you kindly contacted us again to let us know that the products were still listed on the site. If you recall, we again wrote you a very appreciative email and had them removed from the site on the same morning.

While we understand that you were surprised and frustrated to see the products still listed, we hope you agree that this was an annoying administrative oversight but that the service you received while we were actually in contact was anything but "terrible".

In any case, thank you once more for your feedback and we hope that you were able to find the products elsewhere.

Poor communication and slow to respond

The items ordered were not in stock despite what the website said and took almost 4 weeks to arrive despite extra fee paid for express delivery. Issues required several calls and emails to resolve, some of which were not promptly responded and sometimes simply ignored. The whole shopping experience was very frustrating and problems took a long time to resolve. I understand this is a small bike shop but online commerce requires fast communication and constant updates or else customers will fear fraud. The 2 stars go for eventually reimbursing the express delivery fee. I really hope Bike Swanky improves their communication or else I suspect they won't stay in business for long.

To be totally honest, we agree with you that the service that we provided to you on your most recent order was not up to scratch - our customers deserve better communication and support from us than you received. We are usually more on the ball, which is lucky as we really would like to continue looking after our members for a long time!

With regards to the stock availability, to avoid confusion for other customers reading your review, it is probably worth clarifying that we do not actually publish stock availability on the website directly.

We do list a lot of different products which we are able to access through our varied supplier accounts which allows us to offer a huge choice of product to our members. Being a members-based website means that a lot of the products are brought in to order for specific customers. We also have a lot of products in stock, of course, but we should be clear that we are not operating a distribution warehouse. We would rather order and supply what our customers actually want.

In any case, thank you again for your purchase and feedback. We took the liberty of sending you out some freebies by way of apology.

Great service, quality product

I ordered a Birzman Apogee bike pump from Bike Swanky. As the pump was out of stock when I ordered I received a phone call giving me an updated delivery date and asking if I would like to proceed with the order - I was happy to wait. I received another phone call when they received their shipment, making sure that I was still happy to proceed with the order as it had taken a few days longer than originally expected. I really appreciated the updates and Bike Swanky were very friendly and helpful! In addition, I love the product! Overall, great customer service and very reasonable prices.

Excellent Service

I bought a De Rosa Idol Disc Ultegra Di2 from Bike Swanky based on their price and good reviews. However, through no fault of their own, a quality control issue delayed delivery but communication was prompt and helpful throughout. In fact, they were kind enough to send some extra articles as a condolence. Bike Swanky offers honest, bespoke service and sets a high standard that others should follow.

Argon 18

I have recently purchased a Argon 18 through the bike company BikeSwankey. I can honestly say that the whole experience was exceptional true professionals who have a passion and knowledge about cycling. If anyone is interested in buying a performance road bike I would strongly recommend BikeSwanky to them and I am sure I will return my business time and time again.

Love my De Rosa Superking and Bike Swanky

The team at Bike Swanky were great. Brilliant service, great support and guidance and now have a stunning bike to race.

Completed first road race on the new wheels on Sunday and having been dropped in the same race the year before this time I not only stayed in the bunch but had the confidence to put in a little attack and close down a breakaway to enable our team sprint train to lead out and win the day. the bike was not small part to this.
