It's a shame one lawyer representing a top law firm can ruin their reputation.
Welcome to the Real world. Probably the worst experience with a law firm in my 37 years in finance. Interbay as a lender are bad enough but add Birketts Norwich and we sink to a level only the Titanic has fallen to. Plus my client is a litigation solicitor.

I have been having issues with a legal matter around my late father's will with regards to trustees/cohabitation/distribution of share, this has been going on for the past 10 years.
I can honestly say Sharon Bel who specialises in contested probate, has an absolute wealth of knowledge of these matters and she provided information that i had never even heard of before! I can honestly say that I have never spoken to such an informative solicitor who not only has the knowledge, but is able to communicate in a down to earth, friendly, non jargon manner.
In the past, I have seen and wasted alot of time and money discussing this matter with a number of local solicitors in my area ,all of which have been unhelpful and did not have the expertise, knowledge or was up to date with the latest legislation to deal with our complex case.
I would certainly advise anyone that has a complex probate case to contact Sharon, she certainly knows her stuff! Don't waste your time and money elsewhere. Complex cases need specialist people and Sharon is the person to help.

I asked for assistance in a matter; I made an error with a court document. After charging me £2000 the advice I received was 'to submit the same incorrect paperwork in the same format again' to meet a deadline due to the delay in time it took to get a response. They then charged me an additional £600 for the time it took to read over a one side of A4 page letter. I received NOTHING by the way of professional assistance. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for anything regarding employment law. £2600 later I had the exact same strength of case at the end as I did at the start - total waste of money. The service I received from cunningtons solicitors was of a far higher standard (albeit at a marginally higher cost, which was the reason I changed representative - I wish I stayed with them.)

I would like to offer our thanks and praise for Neda Badri of Birketts who’s diligence, professionalism and knowledge has supported our team at Charlton throughout the year.
Neda understands the nuance of each case both quickly and efficiently and approaches them with zeal and enthusiasm. She is both an asset to Birketts and a valuable support for all our legal work here at Charlton

I like to offer my sincere thanks to Sharon Bell of the Sevenoaks office of Birketts LLP.
Her technical knowledge and timely advice, has a helped prevent what could have been a lengthy probate dispute.
As the potential litigant in this case, my family and I are extremely grateful to Sharon in helping to avoid all of the stress that this would have caused, particularly for my elderly mother.

I made a mistake in hiring this firm to work on wills and trust. They won the mandate after outbidding two other firms, but their final invoice was 200% of their initial bid. They rationalised this amount by falsely claiming I changed instructions mid-stream and wanted “bespoke arrangements” in the documents. In terms of costs, they do not provide clients with itemised bills related to time spent on any particular aspect of the work and any work they do seems to start at £400 an hour even if a piece of work takes less time. In comparison, a US firm who worked alongside Birketts and who did very important and complicated work on US inheritance arrangements presented a final itemised bill that was approximately 25% of the Birketts final invoice. Finally, the turn around time of Birketts work was slow and obvious typos in the drafts were not uncommon suggesting the work hadn’t been very carefully reviewed before being dispatched to the client.

Shibli Begum has been a standout solicitor for myself and my husband supporting us in purchasing our home. From the get-go Shibli was professional, efficient, informative, attentive to detail and her service was above excellence. Shibli always made herself available and returned our calls immediately if missed. Shibli took the time out to explain any legal jargon to us and ensured we were presented with all options with a suggestion on the best direction to take, whilst giving us the space to make decisions that suited us. Shibli was patient with us irrespective of the number of times we called, making us feel like we were the highest priority on her list. For matters that can be so overwhelming and exhaustive, Shibli made the experience a breeze. Thank you Shibli…there is absolutely no one else we would use and anyone that has the pleasure of utilising her service….you will not be disappointed!

Avoid this Company
My Company and I requested specialist employment solicitor from Birketts LLP to carry out a fact-finding investigation into a workplace dispute that was ongoing for numbers of years. This was meant to be a non-judgemental investigation into several grievances from me the employee against my employer.
My company would not allow me to jointly fund the investigation and fully funded it themselves.
The result was the most biased, judgmental, and damming report that was not helpful to myself or my employer due to the ridiculous nature of the allegations, accusations, and unprofessional biased, judgemental wording of the report. This basically finished my career and left me with ongoing PTSD.
When I complained formally to Birketts LPP they were not interested and refused to deal with my legitimate complaint based on 2 very unprofessional excuses, firstly I was not the client and secondly the person they appointed was not a solicitor, both of which were proved to be incorrect.
I have now got to pursue the complaint with legal Ombudsman.
Please don't instruct this company on any Employment matters and anything else looking at the other reviews.

I have been involved in various legal matters over the years, and I must say that my experience with solicitors has been quite mixed. I am a landlord and for the past year, Miss Badri has dealt with a litigation case on my behalf and I have been extremely satisfied with the exceptional service provided by my solicitor. Miss Badri’s professionalism, unwavering dedication, and ability to provide sound legal advice have been invaluable to me during this challenging time. I am grateful for her guidance and support throughout my legal journey.
Miss Badri remained steadfast in her commitment to my case, always going above and beyond to ensure that my best interests were protected and that I fully understood the implications and potential outcomes of each decision I had to make. To Birketts I would say ‘Thank you for having such a remarkable solicitor on the team and on my side’.
I would not hesitate to recommend Birketts to anyone in need of legal services.

I used Birketts LLP to buy a house and I was very impressed by their service. They were professional, efficient and responsive throughout the process. They handled all the legal aspects of the transaction with care and expertise, and they communicated clearly and promptly with me and the other parties involved. They also gave me helpful advice and guidance, as this was the first time we were buying a house. They made the whole experience smooth and stress-free for me. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and competent law firm.

very upset with this solicitors firm in Cambridge, I had two conversations regarding a legal document I wanted them to consider which was 'highly sensitive, 'and no conflict of interest was mentioned. Told to send documents across, and only then when they had my sensitive documents in their hands did they declare a conflict of interest with my employer. I consider this to be very unethical practise and will be contacting the SRA to see if they consider this to be ethical practise. it potentially means I have given their client the organisation Im in conflict with, a heads up on my intentions. It has also been a complete waste of my time, as in my case, time is of the essence.

I recently worked with Holly Jeffrey on case, she has been an absolute superstar, she was always on the end of the phone when we needed her and she was always super friendly and super helpful and she managed to get a leasehold property over the line in 5 weeks!

Shibli and Jamie made a great partnership dealing with the conveyancing of our house sale. Shibli is very direct and very quick in communication. If I sent an email and didn't get a reply in within 10 minutes, I started wondering if I should call the ambulance... the same cannot be said for other solicitors I've used recently!
They didn't mess around and got exactly what they needed before it was needed and at every point we were not the bottlenecks in the chain. There was a hiccup associated with a covenant for some additional land that involved paying more than we'd agreed up front, but this was unforeseen and, whilst stressful, did result in a positive outcome in the end.
