Avoid BMW Arden Tunbridge Wells and BMW…

Avoid BMW Arden Tunbridge Wells and BMW customer service.. they avoid responsibility when your bike is clearly damaged in there care 😡.. and making it difficult to prove by not supplying delivery videos. And avoidance tactics. Shameful.

My 2016 BMW R1200RTW with 51000 miles …

My 2016 BMW R1200RTW with 51000 miles suffered a drive shaft component assembly failure on Interstate 69 northbound on June 19th 2022. I was in the fast lane with two friends when my bike started fishtailing and making terrible metal on metal noises. I was lucky to get the bike to the shoulder without going down. My dealership (BMWSEM) repaired the the bike at a cost of $1969. The dealership has assured me twice that I will be reimbursed. BMW Customer Service in New Jersey has only stalled the repayment process and been rude to a 15 year BMW customer. My riding friends on that day both own similar BMW models and stated they feel like they are on ticking time bombs. Multiple u tube videos from BMW customers in several countrys show similar failures of this assembly. There should be a recall started immediately before someone is seriously injured or killed.

Over a month to replace an Alternator

I own a K1300S that was bought with 2 years BMW warranty. Two weeks before a planned trip to europe the Alternator failed. No problem I thought just take it to my local dealer. To cut along story short, the two weeks leading to the holiday went. I took a 36 year old Brick on the 2000m trip to europe and when I returned I was told the bike had just been finished.
It had taken more than a month to get the part from Germany.
A part which I think should be held in the Uk. The worst part was my service advisor was made to look an idiot because he had no information to pass on.
I emailed Customer support three weeks ago and I'm still waiting fo a reply
I filled in the online satisfaction survey. No reply there either.
Shocking service from Motorrad UK and BMW parts supply
And an even worse response from customer services
Abysmal customer service all round with no reasons or excuses given😡😡😡😡😡

No compensation for 2nd gauge failure

I have to start by saying this 1 star review is concerning Mottorad Customer Service and not a dealer or bike !
My fuel gauge failed in August last year ,AA recovered the bike to home and diagnosed a gauge fault..filled up and alls well .. £300 later and with new gauge off I went. However, 9 months and 400 miles later, gauge fails again ! This time, showing half full. Again AA recovered to local garage. We all trusted the gauge wrongly until the realisation dawned. Took a diagnostic to confirm which ,plus labour was £138. BMW have told me that because the fault wasnt diagnosed by a BMW garage, theyre not prepared to offer any sort of compensation. So much for the slagan about "Trust and Confidence" .. dont have much of either in BMW at the moment.

Will never purchase another BMW after being loyal for 40+ years

After being a BMW customer for 40 years and having purchased and owned several BMW automobiles and various motorcycles including 600 GS and 800 GS, 1200 LT, and 1600 GTL. I have come to the conclusion that I would never ever purchase another BMW product. BY way of background and not being a person who writes negative reviews, I feel it's necessary to post my treatment by Motorrad this last spring. The motorcycle in question is a 1600 GTL, last July I received a factory recall to have the fuel pump replaced, I advised the BMW dealer that I previously paid to have one installed, they inspected it and said it looked fine. BMW motorrad insisted it be replaced again which was performed as a factory recall in July 2021. The motorcycle sat in my garage for 6 months and was not driven. After starting the bike, I noticed a faulty fuel issue - I took it back to the BMW shop, they tested and advised it needed another fuel pump. THe price for pump and labor was $1,000. They advised me that motorrad would not pay. I called motorad at their 800 number, which by the way is a complete waste of time because nobody answers and you just get the runaround. After numerous calls and being on the phone for hours I eventually got through. THey advised me they were going to check with the deal to verify my complaint and would reach out to me by no later than March 24th. That did not happen, typical of BMW and again after numerous calls they got back to me 4 weeks later. They advised me that the higher ups in the organization would not reimburse me for the second fuel pump hence my posting. I think it's important for everyone that reads this to know that the mileage on the motorcycle from the installation of the recall fuel pump to the one I had to pay for was 17 MILES. Needless to say, they can shove their BMW where the sun doesn't shine. Art Engel

A shameful disgrace

Persuaded to upgrade from a Gen 3 S1000rr to new Gen 4. Bike is 6 weeks old following faults. Leaving dealer dash told me all my tires had deflated. I was on the motorway at the time a little off putting. After first service ( a little expensive) dash now tells me the ECU had a failure and to ride slowly to dealer.
Contacted dealer 40 miles away, "leave bike with us but we have no courtesy bikes so if we cannot fix it you will have to make your own way home" Called assistance they could not fix the malfunction which is a servo or butterfly in the intake manifold. Bike has to be taken to dealer did I want a car. No I don't !!

That leaves me with the issue of the finish of the bike the paint is so soft that every time you go out there are marks and scratches from the road. I have been advised that other owners experience this and have advised PTF application, Only £50 for a set, How about BMW put some clear coat on the paint or have they run out !!

Rang BMW UK cannot raise a complaint as they are all too busy might get a call back at some undefined time. I think that this says it all really.

So bottom line, is this - the joy of owning a new £18k bike has been totally stripped from me after 6 weeks

I have just bought a BMW R1200 GSA from Bowker BMW in Preston, Lancs. I received a fanatic service, I was even picked up from the train station. Tony was professional and friendly throughout the purchase and also after the sale. I would absolutely recommend this dealership.

Avoid like the plague if you wish to keep your sanity intact

Annoyed that I have to give 1 star. 0 should be an option.
I will never as long as I live purchase another BMW.

- Sales advisors lie shamelessly.
- Customer care don't care.
- Service centres put a disgusting margin on everything. (This should have some sort of ombudsman to monitor)
- The product GSA 850 is quite possibly THE WORST ENGINEERING of any motorcycle ever manufactured.

I used to like BMWs but I will never buy a new product that results in me having to deal with anyone in BMWs employ again.

First service …

Just back from bowker motorad in Preston after having my first service on my r1250 gsa . I have bought bikes from this dealership before and from one particular salesperson Gary Naylor. The first time I met Gary I was very impressed with his professional approach to customer satisfaction and his knowledge of all things motorcycle!! Once again to say I'm impressed is an understatement . Keep up the great work Gary and see you in 6000 miles . Cheers Paul

Only one star as I can’t give zero( more adequate).
I left my ( on warranty)bike for engine rattle noise investigation in June 25th and got my bike back 5 months later with a no information about what was wrong and what was done to my bike. I don’t want to blame my local BMW dealler as they can’t do a single step forward without asking BMW about. And this is the main problem . When asked BMW GBcustomer service for help they sent me back to my local dealer ,completely useless. They even didn’t answer my last questions sent a month ago.
Is no point to paying fortune for service to keep your warranty better go to you local garrage and get the job done quickly and with a respect of you as a customer and human( didn’t experience with a BMW customer service)
Anyway BMW customer service done one good thing, they helped me with my decision to sell BMW and get proper bike and what more important:proper service.
Think much more then twice before you start dealing with them.

Should never have tried BMW.

Should never have tried BMW.

I decided to scratch that GS itch after having ridden Japanese motorcycles for 30 years. The Motorrad dealer in Inverness sells aggressively but does not want to know about problems and appears to be completely disinterested in maintaining any kind of relationship with their customers. Once they have your cash you're on on your own. The whole experience has been a disappointment, leaving a bad taste. Now where did I put that Honda brochure?

On My third BMW GSA. Had great service and reliability. Latest GSA developed an issue 2 years out of warranty 40km on clock. A credit to BMW coming to the party and fixing issue. They were under no obligation to do so but did.
Impressed 👍

All I have to say is that I should not…

All I have to say is that I should not have to work on my bike to make it roadworthy after picking it up from a fortnight's stay at the main dealer in Manchester. A warning light coming on and staying on on the ride home says pretty much everything.

I have ordered a part from them and emailed several times about progress . No response it has been two months now of me emailing and getting no response. Called the number on website to try to talk to someone. All you get is a recording to leave your number and they will get back to you. No response . I will not order from them ever again. I think there in the business of selling goods they don't have .
