BMW clothing and warranty.

Bought both a BMW air shell jacket and Euduroguard 2 in 1 gloves from the BMW UK

On a recent trip out on my bike last weekend ( Wales are not in lockdown ) I was caught in the rain. Both the waterproof lining of the jacket and the gloves were not waterproof resulting in me getting wet.
I contacted BMW UK with copies of the receipt asking for advice explaining that due to the current situation with the pandemic and lockdown, I explained I had not used the bike since beginning of year. Their reply........ From looking at your purchase invoice, I can see you purchased these items in August 2018 meaning the warranty has recently expired on these items.

As your warranty has recently expired, BMW UK wouldn’t look into supporting with the cost of replacing or repairing these items.

They were not interested in the fact that due to pandemic I had not used items this year until recently.

Expensive product you expect good quality and support but a point poor customer support.

Don’t buy their bike clothing products.. Other companies are better

Be Aware of the Lind Dealership Welwyn Garden City

if you are thinking of buying a new BMW stay away from the Welwyn Garden City Dealership.
Be warned the sales team cannot be trusted . I Ordered a BMW S1000 XR TE 2020 model in February and had to cancel in September due to all the lies. The last blatant Lie was on the 24th July when the sales team even said the bike was in transit from the Berlin plant, they even stated they had contacted my insurance company with the chassis number, but when challenged over this in September they denied what they had said , how can anybody trust a dealership like these.
I have dealt with many dealerships over the years although this one is the worst. They just strung me along instead of being straight with me, making every excuse they could think of, forgetting what lies they had previously told me. Over the telephone the Sales Manager agreed to exchange the seat from a lowered version to a standard one at no extra cost indicating he would have no trouble off setting the costs but when I discussed this with him face to face he denied agreeing this and said an additional cost would be applied on a new seat.
There are plenty of other Motorrad dealerships which will definitely offer a much better service and ones you can trust with your new bike. I complained to BMW UK regarding my experience and not even an apology or phone call from the Lind Dealership, an absolute disgrace, they just couldn't be bothered. I understood there would be delays due to the Corona Virus and with the Berlin plant closure but this dealerships just made up lies as they went along and couldn't be bothered to find out the correct facts.

15 month old gs1250 can’t start, bmw assist can’t help because I’m outside the radius of an enterprise car hire office, I’m still stuck in fortwilliam paying my own hotel waiting to see what happens next 400 miles from home - do not believe the assist programme - makes you wonder if the sos actually works as well

GoAZ in Scottsdale

GoAZ in Scottsdale, AZ.....Absolutely the worst service experience ever. They did not perform the service requested and took over 30 minutes to locate the bike when we picked it up. They are totally incompetent. Avoid them at all costs!

How can a company be so inept?

I was due to collect my new R1250RT next week. Today I was called by the dealer and told that the bike, not yet received, was under a recall and I could not take delivery. Apparently the bolts that hold the front calipers in place can fail. How can a company that has been manufacturing motorcycles for 99 years be so inept as to design a bolt that cannot do its job? I am due to tour Portugal at the end of March, so I fear that might not happen now. Well done BMW Motorrad, I should have gone to Honda.

Unbelievably good experience

Unbelievably good experience. I’ve owned six of their bikes in 13 years. The whole “cycle of ownership“ is pleasurable. The worlds best motorcycle training, clothing and bikes. Totally trusted. Good value too, once you factor in how easy these bikes are to sell secondhand!

Poor BMW Motorrad quality and support

Does BMW Motorrad have an interest in poor customer support from a member of their dealer network?
Does BMW Motorrad have an interest in a monopoly dealer who uses this influence in a undue manner?
Does BMW Motorrad offer compensation for a poor quality BMW product or offer a buyback to a customer who bought 3 BMW 850 GS's and is totally disappointed with their quality?
Does BMW Motorrad offer compensation in any form for the above points and if so what is it?

Best Regards

A former BMW Motorrad customer.

BMW Motorrad Bowker Preston Dangerous

Carole Nash multi-bike for 4 bikes. Transit van drives into my side at 40mph + whilst I am about 5m from petrol pumps. He’s taking a short cut. CCTV will tell the story.
When it comes to paying out CN are a disaster. They simply offload you to Ageas and want nothing more to do with you. Ageas are nicer to deal with but shockingly incompetent. My policy is due to renew but CN don’t seem able to do that. First, they have one of my bikes at the wrong post code, an address that is nothing to do with me and is a simple admin error on their behalf. So, this stops them giving me my renewal docs. Second, they can’t cope with the fact that I have an open claim and can’t give me quotes for renewal . I am in Trust Pilot to find an alternative and I suggest you all do the same.
Ageas - the underwriter. My bike has been hit in excess of 40mph by a heavy commercial vehicle that didn’t brake. Ageas can’t understand that it would be sensible to have the frame and wheels checked to see if they have been knocked out of alignment or fractured. They referred me to a Car Body Shop! The car body shop told me they outsourced these jobs to a local quad bike garage! Nice guys at the Quad Bike garage who told me they didn’t have any kit for testing alignment.
I took the bike to Bowker BMW Motorrad in Preston and they inspected the bike. Regarding the frame BMW said “it looks alright” !!!!! I asked about alignment testing and they said they don’t have the equipment! They normally just let an insurance underwriter take a look and say if the frames ok. Simply amazingly bad service and competence all round.

Absolutely rubbish

Being an avid biker, I like most of the top brands, one of which is BMW motorrad, I owned a couple and enquired for many, but I got to be honest about their snobby altitide towards working class (if there is any such thing) I certainly felt like there was, i was talked into paying a deposit for a new bike, although I enquired about an used one, then they ordered the bike, without ensuring the finance being approved, it turned out BMW fiannce tick boxes were not tailored for me so was rejected, now im fighting to get my deposit back. Ironically I was accepted for fiannce elsewhere and purchased a BMW from a non BMW dealer.
So BMW up your game ... be considerate... dont make promises you cant keep.....
